Several special cases representing equations from different categories are investigated for their roots. Curve-fitting applications to physically meaningful data by the use of fractional functions are worked out in detail. Relevance of this rarely worked subject to solutions of fractional differential equations is pointed out and existing potential in related future work is emphasized. 展开更多

This paper presents an algorithm that aims to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio(PAPR) of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) communication systems while maintaining frequency tracking.The algorithm achieves PAPR reduction by applying the complex conjugates of the data symbol obtained from the frequency domain to cancel the phase of the data symbol.A likelihood estimator is used to obtain the sub-carrier phase error due to the residual carrier frequency offset(RCFO) using the same complex conjugates as a pilot signal.Furthermore,a joint time and frequency domain multicarrier phase locked loop(MPLL) is developed to compensate additional frequency offset.Simulation results show that this algorithm is capable of reducing PAPR without impacting the frequency tracking performance. 展开更多

Presented is a theoretical study of double-clad Er-doped fiber power amplifier(EDFA). Two kinds of double clad fibers(DCF) with rectangular and "flower" inner clad shapes are studied, and these fibers have different coupling constants and propagation losses. We calculate the effective pump power absorption ratio along the fiber with different coupling constants from the first cladding to the doped core and with different propagation losses for the power in the inner cladding. Then the gains of the double clad Er-doped fiber amplifiers versus fiber lengths are calculated using the EDFA model based on propagation and rate equations of a homogeneous, two-level medium. 展开更多

Especially in the high-speed environm... Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the key techniques for long term evolution (LTE) system. Frequency offset estimation of OFDM is an essential issue. Especially in the high-speed environment, the frequency offset will become large. Based on the features of LTE uplink physical random access channel (PRACH), this paper proposes a new frequency offset algorithm by using peak power ratio to enlarge the range of frequency offset estimation. According to the relation between frequency offset and the power delay profile (PDP), the ratio of the peak power of the PDP at the main window to that at the negative window or positive window is utilized to estimate frequency offset. Simulation results show that the new proposed algorithm extends the estimation range of frequency offset from 1 000 Hz to 1 250 Hz. Meanwhile the accuracy of frequency offset estimation is almost not lost. Particularly in low signal noise ratio (SNR), the new algorithm has lower mean square error (MSE) compared with traditional phase differential algorithm. 展开更多
