Data Logging and Control of a Remote Inverter Using LoRa and Power Line Communication

For decades, the power system was highly centralized. With the growing integration of distributed generations into the system, there is a necessity for bi-directional communication methods to monitor and control the remote assets. The primary objective of this paper is to develop a communication link for monitoring and controlling a grid-connected inverter in a remote location. Furthermore, the paper presents developments that have been incorporated to improve the communication link. The literature survey indicates that LoRa is superior compared to other technologies, but has some security and reliability issues. This paper also presents an encryption algorithm to improve the security of the LoRa link. Local data storage added to the system before transmitting data increases the system reliability. A display at the transmission end is added to improve the user-friendliness of the communication link. A Powerline Communication link is parallelly added to the LoRa link to improve the reliability. Finally, tests are conducted with an actual inverter and the results are presented. The tests show that the developed communication link has improved security and reliability, while its open nature makes it highly scalable and adaptable for employment in other smart grid applications. 展开更多

The existing research of the integrated power and attitude control system(IPACS) in satellites mainly focuses on the IPACS concept,which aims at solving the coupled problem between the attitude control and power tracking.In the IPACS,the configuration design of IPACS is usually not considered,and the coupled problem between two flywheels during the attitude control and energy storage has not been resolved.In this paper,an integrated power and single axis attitude control system using two counter rotating magnetically suspended flywheels mounted to an air table is designed.The control method of power and attitude control using flywheel is investigated and the coupling problem between energy storage and attitude control is resolved.A computer simulation of an integrated power and single axis attitude control system with two flywheels is performed,which consists of two counter rotating magnetically suspended flywheels mounted to an air rotary table.Both DC bus and a single axis attitude are the regulation goals.An attitude & DC bus coordinator is put forward to separate DC bus regulation and attitude control problems.The simulation results of DC bus regulation and attitude control are presented respectively with a DC bus regulator and a simple PD attitude controller.The simulation results demonstrate that it is possible to integrate power and attitude control simultaneously for satellite using flywheels.The proposed research provides theory basis for design of the IPACS. 展开更多

However, the task is not only data-intensive but also computating-intensive. Distributed processing is a hot topic in remote sensing processing and image deblurring is also one of the most important needs. In order to satisfy the demand for quick proc- essing and deblurring of mass quantity satellite images, we developed a distributed, grid computation-based platform as well as a corresponding middleware for grid computation. Both a constrained power spectrum equalization algorithm and effective block processing measures, which can avoid boundary effect, were applied during the processing. The re- sult is satisfactory since computation efficiency and visual effect were greatly improved. It can be concluded that the technology of spatial information grids is effective for mass quantity remote sensing image processing. 展开更多

An excessive use of non-linear devices in industry results in current harmonics that degrades the power quality with an unfavorable effect on power system performance.In this research,a novel control techniquebased Hybrid-Active Power-Filter(HAPF)is implemented for reactive power compensation and harmonic current component for balanced load by improving the Power-Factor(PF)and Total–Hormonic Distortion(THD)and the performance of a system.This work proposed a soft-computing technique based on Particle Swarm-Optimization(PSO)and Adaptive Fuzzy technique to avoid the phase delays caused by conventional control methods.Moreover,the control algorithms are implemented for an instantaneous reactive and active current(Id-Iq)and power theory(Pq0)in SIMULINK.To prevent the degradation effect of disturbances on the system’s performance,PS0-PI is applied in the inner loop which generate a required dc link-voltage.Additionally,a comparative analysis of both techniques has been presented to evaluate and validate the performance under balanced load conditions.The presented result concludes that the Adaptive Fuzzy PI controller performs better due to the non-linearity and robustness of the system.Therefore,the gains taken from a tuning of the PSO based PI controller optimized with Fuzzy Logic Controller(FLC)are optimal that will detect reactive power and harmonics much faster and accurately.The proposed hybrid technique minimizes distortion by selecting appropriate switching pulses for VSI(Voltage Source Inverter),and thus the simulation has been taken in SIMULINK/MATLAB.The proposed technique gives better tracking performance and robustness for reactive power compensation and harmonics mitigation.As a result of the comparison,it can be concluded that the PSO-basedAdaptive Fuzzy PI system produces accurate results with the lower THD and a power factor closer to unity than other techniques. 展开更多

This paper deals with system engineering and design methodology for super low altitude satel ites in the view of the com-putational mission analysis. Due to the slight advance of imaging instruments, such as the focus of camera and the image element of charge coupled device (CCD), it is an innovative and economical way to improve the camera’s resolution to enforce the satel ite to fly on the lower altitude orbit. DFH-3, the mature satel ite bus de-veloped by Chinese Academy of Space Technology, is employed to define the mass and power budgets for the computational mis-sion analysis and the detailed engineering design for super low altitude satel ites. An effective iterative algorithm is proposed to solve the ergodic representation of feasible mass and power bud-gets at the flight altitude under constraints. Besides, boundaries of mass or power exist for every altitude, where the upper boundary is derived from the maximum power, while the minimum thrust force holds the lower boundary before the power reaching the initial value. What’s more, an analytical algorithm is employed to numerical y investigate the coverage percentage over the altitude, so that the nominal altitude could be selected from al the feasi-ble altitudes based on both the mass and power budgets and the repetitive ground traces. The local time at the descending node is chosen for the nominal sun-synchronous orbit based on the average evaluation function. After determining the key orbital ele-ments based on the computational mission analysis, the detailed engineering design on the configuration and other subsystems, like power, telemetry telecontrol and communication (TT&amp;C), and attitude determination and control system (ADCS), is performed based on the benchmark bus, besides, some improvements to the bus are also implemented to accommodate the flight at a super low altitude. Two operation strategies, drag-free closed-loop mode and on/off open-loop mode, are presented to maintain the satel-lite’s altitude. Final y, a flight planning schedule for the satel ite is demonstrated from its launch into the initial altitude at the very beginning to its decay to death in the end. 展开更多

Information islands are formed due to poor system interoperability. The development of innovative applications is limited, and the launching period of new businesses is long. Management costs and risks increase, and equipment utilization declines. To address these issues, a professional private cloud solution is introduced to integrate the electric power SCADA system, and conduct experimental study of its applicability, reliability, security, and real time. The experimental results show that the professional private cloud solution is technical and commercial feasible, meeting the requirements of the electric power SCADA system. 展开更多

由于具有成本低、体积重量小和可靠性高等特点,送端采用二极管整流器(DRU)、受端采用模块化多电平换流器(MMC)的送出方案在远海风电送出领域备受关注。鉴于DRU不能构建交流电网且无法倒送有功功率,文中提出一种具备黑启动和构网能力的... 由于具有成本低、体积重量小和可靠性高等特点,送端采用二极管整流器(DRU)、受端采用模块化多电平换流器(MMC)的送出方案在远海风电送出领域备受关注。鉴于DRU不能构建交流电网且无法倒送有功功率,文中提出一种具备黑启动和构网能力的远海风电经DRU-MMC送出方案。所提方案在DRU-MMC送出技术的基础上增加了常规小容量电压源型辅助换流器、耗能单元和必要的快速开关,通过直流海缆复用和快速开关倒闸重构拓扑,分别构建黑启动电源低压回路和风电传输高压回路,实现黑启动和功率传输2种工况在线切换;提出辅助换流器在不同运行阶段的构网控制策略,解决海上交流电网构建、DRU无功补偿和谐波抑制等问题,消除DRU-MMC送出方案对风电场类型的限制。最后,通过经济性分析和算例仿真,验证了所提方案的优越性和有效性。 展开更多

为提高远端稳压电源的供电质量,最大限度的在高可靠性前提下保证发射设备输出电压快速、平稳地达到设定值,提出一种改进反激拓扑模式下远端稳压电源设计方式,并建立相应数学模型。设计了前置论域整定的模糊比例积分微分(PID)控制算法,... 为提高远端稳压电源的供电质量,最大限度的在高可靠性前提下保证发射设备输出电压快速、平稳地达到设定值,提出一种改进反激拓扑模式下远端稳压电源设计方式,并建立相应数学模型。设计了前置论域整定的模糊比例积分微分(PID)控制算法,通过论域整定模型将模糊PID参数直接映射到模糊规则下,消除试凑法偶然性的同时消除了量化因子对误差的放大作用,有效地避免了过度调整的现象;引用模糊逻辑来实时处理远端稳压电源的动态参量值,并根据反模糊映射函数将生成的量化值映射到控制元件。仿真环境模拟结果表明:与模糊PID控制相比,前置论域整定的模糊PID控制算法具有优良稳态性能,调节时间缩短48.1%,响应时间缩短了28.6%并降低到1.4 ms;与此同时,该控制方案能够有效地抵抗突发性干扰,稳压输出时间缩短了45.5%,响应时间缩短到37.5%。实验结果表明:前置整定模糊PID控制算法可以运用到实际工业环境中,与工业环境下传统控制算法比,前置整定模糊PID控制算法可以大幅提高远端稳压电源的供电质量,具备优良的鲁棒性。 展开更多
