This paper details lessons learned from the successful field deployment of AA LDHI and proper implementation strategies used for 3 different practical fields as case studies in the Gulf of Mexico. From the 3 field experiences, the AA LDHI has been used to replace the conventional thermodynamic hydrate inhibitor due to its numerous benefits during steady state operations and transition operations where AA LDHI is injected prior to extended shut in and restart for fields producing at low water cut. However, the strategy to develop a cost effective chemical management of hydrates for fields producing at high water cut is by pumping methanol or diesel to push down the wellbore fluid below the mud line during planned and unplanned shut-ins to delay water production, it also secures the riser with non hydrate fluids. This illustrates how the AA LDHIs are used in conjunction with more conventional hydrate management approaches to reach an optimal cost effective field hydrate management solution. However, this shows that the key to overall success of hydrate prevention is a full integration of a good front end design, a comprehensive deployment and an effective down hole monitoring system.展开更多

文摘Free water available in calcium aluminate cement(CAC)-bonded castables is crucial for the hydration of CAC and the conversion of hydration products in the curing and drying processes,as both the hydration and conversion reactions are dissolution–precipitation reactions. To elucidate the effect of different levels of free water loss upon the hydration of CAC,the conversion of hydration products and the mechanical strength of the CAC-bonded castables, the CAC-bonded castables were subjected to sealed and unsealed curing conditions at 50°C and drying at 110°C.The results demonstrate that the fast removal of free water during unsealed curing would hinder the conversion from 2CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·8H_(2)O to 3CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·6H_(2)O and consequently prevent the deterioration of strength. As a comparison, although sealed-cured samples have less water loss and high degree of hydration of CAC,they still show lower strength than the unsealed samples after curing. The following drying process further accelerates the hydration of residual calcium aluminate clinkers for both the sealed and unsealed samples, but still does not favor the conversion from 2CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·8H_(2)O to 3CaO·Al_(2)O_(3)·6H_(2)O in the unsealed-cured samples.

文摘Natural gas hydrate has huge reserves and is widely distributed in marine environment. Its commercial development is of great significance for alleviating the contradiction between energy supply and demand. As an efficient research method, numerical simulation can provide valuable insights for the design and optimization of hydrate development. However, most of the current production models simplify the reservoir as a two-dimensional(2D)horizontal layered model, often ignoring the impact of formation dip angle. To improve the accuracy of production prediction and provide theoretical support for the optimization of production well design, two three-dimensional(3D)geological models with different dip angles based on the geological data from two typical sites are constructed. The vertical well, horizontal well and multilateral wells are deployed in these reservoirs with different permeabilities to perform production trial, and the sensitivity analysis of dip angles is also carried out.The short-term production behaviors in high and low permeability reservoirs with different dip angles are exhibited. The simulation results show that 1)the gas and water production behaviors for different well types in the two typical reservoirs show obviously different variation laws when the short-term depressurization is conducted in the inclined formation;2)the inclined formation will reduce the gas production and increase the water extraction, and the phenomena becomes pronounced as the dip angle increases, particularly in the low-permeability reservoirs;3)and the impact of formation dip on hydrate recovery does not change significantly with the variation of well type.

文摘Hydrate-based CO_(2) sequestration is an effective method for reducing the greenhouse effect, and the presence of porous media and NaCl can impact the formation characteristics of hydrates. This study uses the constant volume temperature search method to investigate the effects of quartz sand particle size(0.006‒0.03 mm),water saturation(30%–90%),and NaCl concentration(1%‒9%)on the phase equilibrium and kinetics of CO_(2) hydrates within a temperature range of 273‒285 K and pressure range of 1.0‒3.5 MPa.The results indicate that a decrease in quartz sand particle size or an increase in NaCl concentration shifts the hydrate phase equilibrium curve towards lower temperatures and higher pressures, making hydrate generation conditions more demanding. In different particle size systems, there are no significant changes in the rate of CO_(2) hydrate formation or conversion rate. The highest hydrate conversion rate of 71.1%is observed in a 0.015 mm particle size system. With increasing water saturation, both the generation rate and conversion rate of CO_(2) hydrates show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing.Meanwhile, low concentrations of NaCl(1%–3%)are found to enhance the formation and conversion rates of CO_(2) hydrates. However,as NaCl concentration increases, the rate of CO_(2) hydrate formation and conversion rate decrease.

文摘To analyze the relationship between macro and meso parameters of the gas hydrate bearing coal(GHBC)and to calibrate the meso-parameters,the numerical tests were conducted to simulate the laboratory triaxial compression tests by PFC3D,with the parallel bond model employed as the particle contact constitutive model.First, twenty simulation tests were conducted to quantify the relationship between the macro–meso parameters. Then, nine orthogonal simulation tests were performed using four meso-mechanical parameters in a three-level to evaluate the sensitivity of the meso-mechanical parameters.Furthermore, the calibration method of the meso-parameters were then proposed. Finally, the contact force chain, the contact force and the contact number were examined to investigate the saturation effect on the meso-mechanical behavior of GHBC.The results show that:(1)The elastic modulus linearly increases with the bonding stiffness ratio and the friction coefficient while exponentially increasing with the normal bonding strength and the bonding radius coefficient. The failure strength increases exponentially with the increase of the friction coefficient, the normal bonding strength and the bonding radius coefficient, and remains constant with the increase of bond stiffness ratio;(2)The friction coefficient and the bond radius coefficient are most sensitive to the elastic modulus and the failure strength;(3)The number of the force chains, the contact force, and the bond strength between particles will increase with the increase of the hydrate saturation, which leads to the larger failure strength.

文摘This paper studied the effects of different retarders on the performance of the"one-step"alkali-activated composite cementitious material(ACCM)which is composed of ground granulated blast slag(GGBS)and fly ash(FA),and analyzed its mechanical properties, hydration mechanism, and retardation mechanism. The effects of retarders on the hydration products, mechanical properties, and hydration kinetics of ACCM were investigated using XRD,SEM,FTIR,EDS,and thermoactive microcalorimetry. The results showed that Na_(2)B_(4)O_(7)·10H_(2)O(B)delayed the exotherm during the alkali activation process and could effectively delay the setting time of ACCM,but the mechanical properties were slightly decreased. The setting time of ACCM increased with the increase in SG content, but the mechanical properties of ACCM decreased with the increase in SG content.C1_(2)H_(22)O_(11)(CHO)could effectively delay the hydration reaction of ACCM and weakly enhanced the compressive strength.H_(3)PO_(4)(HP)at a concentration of 0.05 mol/L had a certain effect on ACCM retardation, but HP at a concentration of 0.07 and 0.09 mol/L had an effect of promoting the setting and hardening time of ACCM.

文摘Carbon emission reduction and clean energy development are urgent demands for mankind in the coming decades.Exploring an efficient CO_(2) storage method can significantly reduce CO_(2) emissions in the short term.In this study,we attempted to construct sediment samples with different residual CH_(4) hydrate amounts and reservoir conditions, and then investigate the potentials of both CO_(2) storage and enhanced CH_(4) recovery in depleted gas hydrate deposits in the permafrost and ocean zones, respectively. The results demonstrate that CO_(2) hydrate formation rate can be significantly improved due to the presence of residual hydrate seeds; However, excessive residual hydrates in turn lead to the decrease in CO_(2) storage efficiency.Affected by the T-P conditions of the reservoir, the storage amount of liquid CO_(2) can reach 8 times that of gaseous CO_(2),and CO_(2) stored in hydrate form reaches 2-4 times.Additionally,we noticed two other advantages of this method. One is that CO_(2) injection can enhance CH_(4) recovery rate and increases CH_(4) recovery by 10%-20%.The second is that hydrate saturation in the reservoir can be restored to 20%-40%,which means that the solid volume of the reservoir avoids serious shrinkage.Obviously, this is crucial for protecting the goaf stability. In summary, this approach is greatly promising for high-efficient CO_(2) storage and safe exploitation of gas hydrate.
文摘With the petroleum industry endeavoring to develop promising oil and gas in deeper water, gas hydrates prevention is a serious concern for oil and gas producing companies producing at conditions in the hydrate region. However, this shows that the key to overall success of hydrate prevention is a full integration of a good front end design, a comprehensive deployment and an effective down hole monitoring system.

文摘The preparation of cementitious materials by replacing part of the cement with activated coal gangue is of great significance to the cement industry in terms of carbon reduction and coal-based solid waste utilization. For this paper, cementitious material was prepared by firing activated coal gangue under suspension conditions and batching it with limestone powder using Inner Mongolia coal gangue as raw material. The optimal ratio was determined by testing the strength changes of the cementitious material at 3,7,and 28 days of hydration, and the hydration process and mechanism were explored by combining the pore structure, heat of hydration, chemical composition, phase composition, and microscopic morphological characteristics of the hydration products. The results showed that the active materials formulated from activated gangue and limestone powder can be used to prepare cementitious materials with good performance at the level of 30%–50%replacement of cement. The optimal ratio was 30%replacement of cement, and the mass ratio of calcined gangue to limestone powder was 2:1.The 3 days compressive strength of this ratio was 28.8 MPa,which was only slightly lower than that of cement. However, the 28 days compressive strength of samples reached 67.5 MPa,which was much higher than that of the reference cement. In the hydration of this cementitious material, not only does the activated coal gangue react with the Ca(OH)_(2)formed by hydration to form C–S–H gel,but CaCO3 also participates in the reaction to form a new phase of carbon aluminate, and the two effects together promote the development of the later strength of the samples. This paper can provide a reference for carbon reduction in the cement production process and comprehensive utilization of coal gangue.
