In this paper, on the basis of the heat conduction equation without consideration of the advection and turbulence effects, one-dimensional model for describing surface sea temperature ( T1), bottom sea temperature ( Tt ) and the thickness of the upper homogeneous layer ( h ) is developed in terms of the dimensionless temperature θT and depth η and self-simulation function θT - f(η) of vertical temperature profile by means of historical temperature data.The results of trial prediction with our one-dimensional model on T, Th, h , the thickness and gradient of thermocline are satisfactory to some extent. 展开更多

A microseismic monitoring system was used in the Donggua Shan underground copper mine, and its application was introduced. The spacial distribution of the seismic event was monitored effectively during mining with this system. The distribution of the seismic intensity in different time periods and in the different mining districts was obtained via the clustering analysis of the monitored results, and the different intensity concentration districts of seismicity were compartmentalized. The various characteristics and waveforms of different vibrations in the underground mine were revealed with the help of the micro-seismic monitoring system. It was proved that the construction and application of the micro-seismic monitoring system in the mine not only realized the continuous monitoring of seismicity in the deep mine, but also settled an this system. 展开更多

The Swarm satellite mission was launched on 22 November 2013,it is the first European Space Agency’s constellation of three satellites,dedicated to monitoring geomagnetic field changes.The measurements delivered by the three satellites are very valuable for a range of applications,including the earthquake prediction study.However,for more than 5 years,relatively little advancement has been achieved in establishing a systematic approach for detecting anomalies from the satellite measurements for predicting earthquakes.This paper presents the challenges of developing a pragmatic framework for automatic anomaly detection and highlights innovative features of functional components developed.Through a case study we demonstrate a functionality pipeline of the system in detecting anomalies,and present our solutions to coping with data sparsity and parameter tuning as well as insights into the differences between discovering seismic anomalies from periodic and non-periodic data observed by the Swarm satellites. 展开更多
