Advanced Research Projects in the Humanities： New Trends on Literature, Languages, and Linguistics Studies

Following the author＇s own experiencing in supervising Ph.D. theses in literature, languages, linguistics, and teacher education, the author will focus on new trends of advanced research projects that have been contributing to reinforce the importance of research in these areas in a time of crisis in the humanities. The organization and funding of science and scholarship in Europe has been promoting anything else but social sciences research, including educational areas. The author will follow the recent call from the Board of Trustees da Academia Europaea to redirect policies toward the organization of multidisciplinary research projects. Among these so-called ＂small subjects＂, we will find original, inspired, and valuable research projects in the humanities, It is worth mentioning that the crisis that has been diminishing this type of scholarship strangely cohabits with several policies promoted by the European Commission and the Council of Europe to develop programs for plurilingual education and linguistic diversity, new framework strategies for multilingualism, and the use of new technologies for language teaching and learning. A strong emphasis on research projects leading to interdisciplinary studies involving literature and pure sciences, plus the development of outreach research projects will be proposed.

Research on the Design of the Innovative Teaching Platform for College English Linguistics Based on Network Technologies

As a compulsory course for English majors in colleges and universities, English linguistics is of great significance to English majors in colleges and universities. However, as the English linguistics curriculum itself belongs to theoretical teaching, the teaching process requires the two-way interaction between teachers and students, so the teaching effect is not good. College English linguistics takes the cultivation of students' comprehensive abilities to use English as the premise, and emphasizes the cultivation of students' listening and speaking abilities to help students transmit the accurate written and oral information in the process of the social work and communication, thus improving students' English levels and preparing for their future international communication.

Researches on the teaching based on the applied linguistics

Along with the development of the times and the innovation of the society, the history and cultures are also constantly inherited under the strike of the flow of the tide over the years, forming the centuries-old cultures. Of course, the heritage of any culture needs a carrier, and the history and culture is no exception. Language itself is a kind of tool for the information exchange, and the communication process of the language is also accompanied by the substitution of the culture. So it can be said it is not only the category of the information exchange, but should be expanded to the cultural heritage. With the continuous changes and development of the society, people focused more on the application in the learning of the language, so as to highlight the characteristics of different cultures through the applications in different aspects.

A Great Work on the Leap-Forward Development of Linguistics——A Book Review on Contrastive Linguistics

Contrastive Linguistics is a book on linguistics by Professor Ke Ping.It defined the discipline property of contrastive linguistics.The categories and the theory system of contrastive linguistics get deepened,for Professor Ke brings forward the term tertium contrast and divide the inferiority into extra-linguistic subsystem and intra-linguistic subsystem.The research methods of contrastive linguistics get enriched through putting forward three kinds of positive quantitative contrastive research methods.In addition,it cites various authorities and develops the new through critical assimilation of the old.And the theory mentioned in this book is tightly integrated with practice.So the book is rather valuable and Suitable for a variety of readers with different purposes.

也谈“forensic linguistics”的汉译名及我国法律语言学的主要研究对象

考虑到中国的成文法传统和现实,forensic lingu istics的汉译名宜还原为“司法语言学”;“法律语言学”可以与legal lingu istics互为译名。立法语言、执法语言、司法语言、法律研究语言是法律语言学在我国的主要研究对象。

Methodology and Trends of Linguistic Research in the Era of Big Data

This paper presents methodology and trends of linguistic research in the era of big data.We begin with a discussion of the role of linguists in the information society and illustrate the opportunities and challenges linguists are currently facing.After highlighting the significance of authentic data on linguistic research,we argue that language is a complex adaptive system driven by humans.Then,from the perspective of philosophy of science,we introduce the research paradigm of quantitative linguistics through several cases.Finally,we discuss how China’s linguistic research will benefit from the data-intensive approach in terms of scientification and internationalization.

An Analysis of Surprise Markers in Linguistic Research Articles

To have a better understanding of surprise makers in linguistic Research Articles(RAs),this research selects 85 articles published in Applied Linguistics,analyzes 93 adjective surprise markers according to surprise frame,and explores readers’understanding of surprise markers in terms of the Immersed Experiencer Frame(IEF).The results show that,the Experiencers are activated at the lexical level and 78.49%Experiencers of them are implied,which encourages readers better immersed in the surprise motion.At the clause level,96.77%Triggers are new information,which attracts readers’attention to the information obtained in the present study in the process of Construal.Besides,the Degrees(90.32%are neutral),the Explanations(75.27%are unidentified),and the Resolutions(41.94%do not exist)are also construed at the clause level,which allows readers to make little effort to interpret surprise.In the process of Integration,readers proceed to the Resolutions by new information(34.41%),prior knowledge(20.43%),and speculation(3.23%)at the discourse level.It seems that the surprise markers are mainly used by authors as a means to attract readers and to promote their research.This research validates surprise frame as well as sheds light on emotion words using and comprehending in RAs.

The Empirical Research of Native Thinking in the Process of English Composition

The method of questionnaire is employed to investigate the impact of Chinese thinking in the writing processes of 80 college English majors.It reveals that the English writing process is a bilingual event(namely,English writers have both Chinese and English at their disposal when they are composing in English).And no matter whether the English proficiency of the learners is high or low,the learners have a great dependence on Chinese thinking in the process of English writing.In the categories of task reacting and content organizing,there is no great difference between the high and low English proficiency students.But in the category of linguistic form,the influence of Chinese thinking on the low level students is far greater than the high level students.

Ethics and Its Relations With Education and Research

Brazilian studies in （Critical） Applied Linguistics＇ field have being carried out focusing on ethics. They focused on the relation between ethics and two main contexts： education and research. This paper aims at discussing what ethical procedures were taken in international studies. The data were collected at ERIC （Educational Resources Information Centre） database during the first semester of 2016. As analytical categories, we used the ethical procedures established by Brazilian Applied Linguists. The contribution is addressed to both BAL and International Applied Linguists once it offers an overview about a specific topic of research （viz., ethics）. As results, we observed that most of the topics presented by the Brazilian applied linguists were also covered by the research analyses. However, the social relevance was not reported properly by the data and that may be improved.

复杂适应系统理论对应用语言学研究转型的促动作用

复杂适应系统(CAS)理论作为一项前沿研究理论,因其创新的核心观点与广泛的适用领域受到了国内外语言学界的重点关注。为探究CAS理论对应用语言学研究转型的促动作用,以及未来的发展趋势,本研究使用BERTopic主题自动提取模型和Citespace网络知识图谱,分析CAS理论在国内外应用语言学研究中的关注热点与动态趋势。通过进一步挖掘数据结果发现,CAS理论从系统框架、研究方法、跨学科整合、个体差异、互动机制、技术创新等方面,促动了应用语言学研究的新发展,也在多个语言学研究领域取得了新突破。最后,本研究展望了未来CAS理论在应用语言学研究领域的重要作用和发展方向,以期给学界提供新的视角和启示。

卡拉乌洛夫的语言个性理论及其核心理念

由俄罗斯心理语言学家卡拉乌洛夫建构的语言个性理论不仅在学理内涵和层次结构上具有较大的独创性,而且包孕着许多即便在今天看来仍弥足珍贵的重要理念和思想。就其本质内涵而言,“语言个性”是一个多维度一多层级的聚合体,包括“语言中的人”与“人说的语言”两个方面,分别呈现在语言掌握、语言认知、语言使用三个层级上,在实际言语活动中主要体现为“言语个性”。在语言个性理论框架内,语言与其主体(人)之间、个体与民族之间、个体与社会之间以及不同语言学范式、不同学科和不同方法之间的界限均被跨越,从而形成了一个跨范式、跨学科、跨方法的综合性研究模式,蕴含着丰富的语言学哲学思想。

体验认知观下研究生科学研究能力及素养的培养——以语言学研究方法课程为例

本研究从体验认知教学理念出发,紧贴语言学研究实施步骤,充分发挥实践体验的能动作用,通过创新英语语言学研究方法课程模式,培养研究生从发现问题、设计研究、实践方法,到独立思考、解决问题并呈现研究结果的能力。实验教学在课程满意度、丰富度、科学性及课程思政等方面取得了理想效果。研究在探索培养英语专业研究生学术研究能力及素养的专业课程模式,创新外语人才培养理念,使学生具备科学、严谨、规范的研究意识和独立开展科学研究的能力方面进行了有益尝试。

现代汉语语法研究的前提、目标及其深化路径

现代汉语语法研究要在前人研究的基础上作进一步的探究,首先需要对“语法”“语法研究”等概念有明确的认识,由此了解“语法研究”的手段与目标,从“语言事实”“语言理论”两个方面来探讨语法研究的深化路径,进而更为清晰地认识到,新挖掘的语言事实以及对语言事实认识的不断深化是如何推动语法研究前行的,语言理论的更新发展对于深化语法研究而言具有怎样的重要意义。

认知语言学发展的演变规律和研究动态

本文旨在探究认知语言学发展的演变规律、最新动态和发展趋势。近50年来,认知语言学不断向纵深发展,并与其他学科交叉互动,历久弥新。其嬗变呈现以下五个特征:研究内容不断扩增,从理论创建走向理论修补和完善;研究方法不断完善,从内省的认知机制探索到实证的神经机制验证;研究视角不断更新,从语言与认知研究走向语言与认知、社会和语用互动的多视角研究;研究对象不断多元,从单一认知语言学科走向认知语言学与其他学科的交叉;研究维度不断丰富,从理论引介与英语研究走向理论应用与本土化研究及其汉语研究。认知语言学理论本体推陈出新,并且不断向邻近学科辐射,呈现理论本体进一步“再语境化”、学科整合及本土化研究加强的发展态势和多维发展、适用面广的研究前景。

应用语言学教学与研究中的伦理问题

伦理问题是每个研究者都必须时刻考虑的问题。本文围绕着应用语言学教学与研究中的伦理问题进行讨论,首先给伦理下简单的定义,然后介绍国外学者关于伦理问题研究的观点,接着通过分析多个问题说明研究者对伦理问题的认识贯穿到研究的全过程,最后提出区分“事实”与“观点”的重要性。本文的结论是:伦理问题不仅仅是关于伪造数据和抄袭这类现象,还涉及研究者的世界观、人生观和价值观以及他对研究环境、研究参与者、研究目的、研究方法、研究材料的处理、对结果的分析和解释等重要问题的认识和伦理判断。

两种不同的研究范式:语言与语言学

语言研究与语言学研究是两种非常不同的研究领域。语言学是语言科学,即采用科学方法对语言进行的研究;而有些语言研究并不一定属于语言学,语言研究多关注涉及不同语种的表达、翻译等诸如此类的问题研究。论文从语言学的界定入手,分析和阐释语言学研究的特点,指出语言学研究所要解决的是语言问题,而不是语种问题,应关注的是超越具体语言背景下的语言学理论及应用研究。

全英文教育政策中的语言与认识论挑战:寻求语言文化安全的多维解析

研究以全英文教育为背景,探究具有多语背景的师生在知识沟通中面临的语言文化安全挑战。通过全方位、系统性分析,揭示全英文教育带来的问题并非仅限于语言维度,还涉及认识论、社会结构和权力动态。在目前的模式下,单一的语言政策、语言的工具化角色及西方中心认识论框架构成了隐性的语言—认识论不平等,成为语言文化安全的潜在挑战。非英语国家的师生面临知识参与和身份认同边缘化的风险。多语制和多元认识论可提升师生的跨语言及跨认识论能动性,重构语言与认识之间的相互作用网络,塑造更为平等、安全和包容的全英文教育生态。本文为解决全英文教育的语言文化安全问题提供前瞻性的研究途径,以推动相关领域在理论与实践层面上的持续发展。

基于数据驱动学习的医学英语论著写作教学设计及应用评价

探讨了将数据驱动学习(data-driven learning, DDL)应用于基于体裁的英语学术写作教学的路径。福建医科大学共102名博士研究生参加了15个学时的写作教学实验。教师介绍了语料库的基本概念和AntConc软件的使用方法,设计了DDL任务,引导学生以小组为单位自主探索医学英语论著每个语步和语阶的语言特征。学生对课程的总体反馈较好,他们认为学习使用语料库方法探索语言特征、学习医学论著的修辞功能、融合语言特征和修辞功能、自建医学学科专用语料库以及小组合作完成任务是最大的收获。实验证明了DDL在博士生英语学术写作教学中应用的可行性。学生对课程的建议可在未来课程中加以考虑,即增加语料库类型和论文体裁,以优化基于DDL的英语论文写作教学。

40 Years of Applied Linguistics: Investigating Content Areas, Research Methods, and Statistical Techniques

This review study was designed to map out the research trends through an intensive text analysis of 1,366 research articles （RAs） of applied linguistics during the past 40 years （from 1976 to 2015）. RAs were coded and analyzed by four analysts to identify their content of research, research methods, and statistical procedures. It was found that there has been an increase in the number and the average length of articles. The average length has been on the rise from 8.09 pages in 1976-1985 to 14.38 during 2006-2015. The extensive review of the RAs also revealed a broad range of themes that belonged to 34 research domains. SLA, Technology 8： Language Learning, Language Teaching Methodology, Language Testing, and Psycholinguistics were the most widely researched areas. The qualitative method with 33.97% was the dominant research method in the journals. Regarding the statistical techniques, it was illustrated that descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, ANOVA, and t-test were the most commonly used procedures in the applied linguistic RAs.

应用语言学Q方法研究述评:基于PRISMA系统性综述方法

近年来,混合研究方法逐渐受到应用语言学领域学者的关注。其中,Q方法作为一种探讨人类主体性的混合研究方法,融合了量化与质性方法的优势,从整体和个体两个层面出发,以客观手段考察主观本质,逐渐得到该领域专家的认可。然而,学者们对于Q方法的认识仍处于起步阶段,相关研究成果较少,国内实证研究尤其匮乏。因此,本研究采用系统性综述方法,通过对国内外相关重点文献数据库进行检索和筛选,从“理论视角”“研究主题”和“数据搜集与分析特征”3个方面评述Q方法研究现状。研究发现,只有少量Q方法研究注重与理论相结合,且仅有的这些研究多聚焦动机主题;研究主题涉及动机、情感、信念、课程评价等;数据搜集与分析呈现出从共时到历时、从组内向组间或组内组间相结合的发展趋势。最后,本文结合现有研究的不足,指出Q方法研究的未来发展方向,以期为未来研究提供新的思路。
