Owing to these characteristics, LPA has gained research interests and been employed for many wideband applications. A Printed Log-Periodic Dipole Antenna (PLPDA) with multiple notched bands is proposed for Ultra-WideBand (UWB) applications. An antenna with the notched frequencies of 1.03 GHz, 1.28 GHz, 1.72 GHz, 2.24 GHz and 2.51 GHz is designed, fabricated, and measured. An antenna model was established on the substrate of FR4 and feed by a stripline. The simulation results show that the antenna can achieve an impendence wide bandwidth from 0.89 to 2.58 GHz with return loss less than -10 dB and exhibit stable antenna gain. Furthermore, the measurement result is better consistent with simulation result.展开更多

Both simulated and experimental results are presented, showing good agreement and therefore verifying validity of the design. The proposed antenna with a circular monopole patch achieves an 11.6: 1 measured ratio bandwidth of VSWR ≤2 ( from 0,79 GHz to 9.16 GHz), while that with an annular patch obtains a measured ratio impedance bandwidth of 10.6:1 (from 0.87 GHz to 9.47 GHz). In addition, these designs exhibit nearly omnidirectional radiation patterns with simple compact structures, which axe attractive in communications and others UWB applications.展开更多

We present wideband PCB elliptic dipole antennas which are capable of achieving the bandwidth requirements for all the applications. A set of elliptic dipole antennas with varying eccentricities have been fabricated for demonstration. We find one specific size (specific eccentricity) dipole that can yield an impressive 1.5-16 bandwidth exceeding the currently available. A couple of elliptic dipole antennas suitable for UWB application have been presented. We have measured swept frequency response, impedance and radiation patterns of all dipoles. An empirical formula is given for calculating the starting resonant frequency within the operating band. The calculated values are found in good agreement with measured results.展开更多

The antenna was analyzed to operate at a resonance frequency band of 868 MHz;acceptable in 915 MHz as well. The s-shape is selected due to the need of reducing the overall size of the normal monopole antenna. The printed antenna was designed with an approximate overall size of 39 × 56 mm2 of which the antenna’s upper side is 26 × 39 mm2 while its reference ground board was sized at 39 × 30 mm2. The antenna is fed by a strip line of 3 × 1.5 mm2, in series with a 4.4 pF capacitance and shunt with an 8.7 nH inductance for purpose of antenna’s impedance matching with the input. A couple of existing publications showed that PCB antenna is not a new technology;however not an old technology for telecommunication industry. The raised problem by this work was duly solved with HFSS as a tool;excellent results are presented. After duly matching the antenna’s impedance with 50 Ω microstrip feed-line, solutions for overall performance were analyzed and demonstrated optimal: radiation patterns were proven omnidirectional, antenna gain optimized. The present antenna prototype’s overall dimensions can be readjusted according to any industrial and manufacturing requests.展开更多

The antenna is composed of two printed dipoles, two pairs of feeding coaxial lines and a ground. The single-polarized planar printed rectangular dipole and petal dipole, with the similar configuration, are first studied, exhibiting the potential wideband operation. Two petal dipoles are then cross-arranged to design a dual-polarized planar printed antenna, giving a lower profile and a better bandwidth covering the Chinese TD-SCDMA band (1880-2400 MHz). The dual-polarized antenna is simply excited by two pairs of coaxial feeds. Simulated and measured results show that the antenna achieves a common impedance bandwidth of 42% at both ports, good isolation of more than 25 dB, stable radiation patterns and the gain of about 7 dBi over the operating bandwidth.展开更多

In this study, the UHF RFID tags with perfect integration with textiles are assembled with screen-printed antenna on woven water-mark nylon fabric and Alien UHF integrated circuit( IC), and their reading performance under various washing and bending conditions is evaluated by an RFID reader. The results show that the tags after fifty bending( both arch and sink) cycles of screen-printed antenna still have reading distance more than 5.5 m,and an average reading distance is over 4.0 m after five washing cycles.
