Discussion on Road Traffic Problems and “Public Transport Priority” Policy in the Macao Peninsula

The roads on the Macao Peninsula are famous for their short, fast, and small features. At the same time, due to the protection of historical and cultural sites, the road network system is mostly based on the planning and design of the previous road network system. Although the planning of the contemporary road network system is quite unique, it has not been considered to the contemporary transporting needs of the citizens of Macao. At the same time, the complexity of the road network makes zonings unobvious functional and mixes urban functions in the region. Therefore, through field surveys, the relevant data of the Macao Transport Bureau (DSAT) is combined to find out the current problems of the road traffic on the Macao Peninsula and analyze the strategy of optimizing the “public transport priority” public transportation prove system. At Last, regarding the citizen as the core and find out the relationship between passengers and the public transportation system to explore the future development direction of the road traffic planning and design of the Macao Peninsula will become the main direction of this study.

A review of research on public transport priority based on CiteSpace

The prioritization of public transit as an essential means of promoting sustainable urban development has a significant role in improving the quality of public transportation services,reducing traffic congestion,and enhancing air quality.To improve the implementation of public transit prioritization policies,this study conducted a comprehensive review of relevant literature on public transit prioritization from two major citation databases(Web of Science and China National Knowledge Infrastructure)from 2003 to 2021.Utilizing the visualization analysis software CiteSpace,this study analyzed knowledge visualization from five aspects:research sources,research institutions,knowledge foundation,knowledge frontier,and research hotspots,and summarized the research history and implementation effectiveness of public transit prioritization policies.The study concludes that existing research has some deficiencies in terms of urban diversity,comprehensive evaluation system,holistic perspective,interdisciplinary collaboration,and consideration of economic and environmental impacts.Future research should focus on development directions such as intelligence,sustainability,interdisciplinary collaboration,and integration of multi-modal transportation.The findings of this study can provide valuable references for the implementation of public transportation prioritization policies and future research.

Imperative to Fulfill Full Priority Development of Public Transport

In the bluebook regarding public transport policies of our country,various documents and specialized papers ontraffic management,great emphasis has been laid on giving priority to the development of public transport.However,the problem of difficult bus-riding has become increasingly serious.What efforts have we made to facilitate the prior-ity development of public traffic in our urban planning,urban construction,and traffic management? What preferen-tial policies have been adopted for that purpose? The author attempts to discuss how,on the competitive market ofpassenger transport,public transport can make greater contribution to urban development.
