Thinking on Improving Presentation Teaching-Based on the Empirical Analysis of Presentation in College English Classes of Junior Non-English Majors in Universities of Science and Engineering

Based on the empirical investigation of presentation in college English classes for junior non-English majors in science and engineering universities,the author explains her own thinking on how to improve presentation teaching from four aspects:setting teaching objectives,selecting teaching contents,using teaching methods,and evaluating and implementing methods.

Research on the Content and Implementation Measures of College English Multiple Dimensional Teaching

Based on the reality of college English teaching, this paper puts forward the concept of three-dimensional teaching in college English. A study of the inspiration of content schema in Higher vocation students English Reading Teaching

On account of the difficulties appeared in the higher vocational students'English reading comprehension,the author connected these difficulties with four schemas included in the schema theory,and according to content schema,made an experimental study on reading test.Through data contrast and analysis of two groups'reading test results,the author concluded the content schema had certain significance for the higher vocational English reading teaching practice.

Circumstance Leading to Pregnancy and Problem-Solving Process of Unwanted Teenage Pregnancy in the Phetchaburi Province, Thailand

This descriptive qualitative study aims to understand circumstance leading to pregnancy and problem-solving process of unwanted teenage pregnancy in the Phetchaburi Province. A qualitative research design was used. Participants were 15 unwanted pregnant teenagers, aged between 15 and 19 years. All participants were primiparous and interviewed at postpartum stage. A semi-structured in-depth interview was the main technique of data collection. Data was analyzed using the process of manifest content analysis. Five themes, nine categories, 19 subcategories emerged from the data analysis. The themes were： （1） circumstance leading to pregnancy was the failure of contraceptive use and lack of knowledge about reproductive health; （2） negative emotional reactions included worry about parents＇ rejection and being blamed by others; （3） boyfriend＇s reaction to the pregnancy had a big impact on teen girl＇s feelings toward the situation. The majority of the teenagers＇ pregnancies accepted a child in the womb. The couples did not consider termination of the pregnancy; （4） parent＇s seeking a solution to serve the family dignity by organizing wedding ceremony and collaboratively plans for the future; and （5） life changes after the pregnancy due to the strong concerns about being blamed by the society. Findings from this study suggest that teens should particiPate in sex education classes that are specific for teenagers to prevent becoming pregnant. Moreover, the educational program specific for the teenagers＇ needs should be established so that they can continue their pregnancy without quitting school.

Applying Nearpod to the Teaching Chinese as a Second Language Class to Enhance Interactions and Collaborations in the Secondary Schools

The quick spread of the epidemic since 2019 together with fast advancing of technology has exposed teachers to online education,including Teaching Chinese as a Second Language(TCSL)classrooms.Some Chinese as a Second Language(CSL)teachers were reluctant to utilize technology tools in their teaching due to the lack of technological knowledge.Thus,this study designed a CSL curriculum with the lens of the TPACK framework(Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge).Nearpod was specifically adopted as a web-based technology tool to support the teaching Chinese language due to its powerful functions provided.Nearpod allows teachers to design interactive activities in multiple ways to facilitate interactions and collaboration in the CSL learning process.This paper aimed to help Chinese teachers improve their understanding of how to effectively integrate technology into CSL teaching.Chinese teachers will develop a deeper comprehension of distance teaching from the perspectives of technology,pedagogy,and content knowledge,enhance students’deeper learning,and promote interaction and collaboration in L2 class.The effective use of the technology can develop language skills in a meaningful context knowledge with the guidance of pedagogical content knowledge.

A Study of English Grammar Teaching Based on Construction Grammar

In China, grammar teaching is an important part of foreign language teaching. However, traditional grammar teaching lays much emphasis on the explanation and acquisition of grammar rules, neglecting the function of grammatical forms on the expression of semantic meanings and the connection between forms and senses.Construction Grammar(CG) is a hot point in language and language teaching in recent years. It stresses the pairing of form and function and sense, and pays attention to viewpoint of constructional acquisition in terms of construction. We deepen the understanding of grammatical attributes based on these ideas, which open a new area for English grammar teaching. The author is to explore teaching contents and methods of English grammar based on CG. Thus, it will provide a new perspective for English grammar teaching.
