One of these challenges is to meet the growing requirements and expectations of customers. This requires the efficient management of insurance companies. This means the necessity of applying modern management concepts, first and foremost, the concept of process management and instruments related to this process. This article describes the results of research on process management in insurance companies operating in Poland that was conducted by the Faculty of Management at the Warsaw University of Technology and presents the concept of the identification of processes carried out in insurance companies encompassing management, basic and auxiliary processes, as well as the objectives of the processes and the relationships between the basic processes and other processes carried out in insurance companies.展开更多

It is argued in this paper that product, data, person and activity are basic factors in PDPM With detailed analysis of these basic factors and their relations in product developmed process, all product development activities are considered as tasks and the management of product development process is regarded as the management of task execution A task decomposition based product development model is proposed with methods of constructing task relation matrix from layer model and constraint model resulted from task decomposition. An algorithm for constructing directed task graph is given and is used in the management of tasks. Finally, the usage and limitation of the proposed PDPM model is given with further work proposed.展开更多

New product design activity and stage-gate process differences between local automotive firms (serial production factory and stage-gate department in Turkey) and global automotive companies (serial production factory and stage-gate department in Turkey) are examined comparatively in the research area. In the automotive industry, which has been developing for a century, the question of how the local company products operating in the last sixty years have not been able to spread globally or how to develop global products is the background question of the research. For this purpose, one on one interviews were held with the managers of 3 national and 3 international automotive companies, who worked in the same region and who had previously designed a new vehicle, with design and product development departments.?According to?the data obtained by the AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) in the automotive design process, the importance of the criteria that should be taken into account for global product development has revealed. According to the results of the study, it was found that design validation stages were the most important globalization criterion in automotive design process as a new study area. In the comprehensive survey of the study, no other publication has been encountered to measure or evaluate the stages in the automotive design and new product development process in other sectors, including the vehicle industry. As in every industry sector, in the automotive industry, with the new product companies provide market development or competitive advantage. The new product is the life channel of a company and in the realization of this new vehicle;the disciplines of the automotive industry are formed by a hundred years of experience.展开更多

Material and Methods: A retrospective analysis was carried out on all 24 cases of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony with an estimated blood loss of more than 800 mL, in which standardized guidelines were obtained. We included all women who gave birth at the General Hospital of Vienna, the Medical University Vienna, during the period from January 1st 2003 and December 31st 2009 and who suffered blood loss 800 mL at minimum due to uterine atony. Results: The guidelines were in use for 14% - 71%. The average blood loss of the 24 cases with uterine atony was 1342 mL. Conclusion: The management process of postpartum hemorrhage due to uterine atony deviates from the hospital’s guidelines in many cases.展开更多

The choice of the sub-stages of the basic process or the decision of how to do a job gains importance in terms of the efficiency of the firm’s activities. Therefore, the decision making function is one of the basic elements involved in the formation and development of the basic processes that can comply with the market dynamics of firms. With the new product being developed, the selection, the current editing or the evaluation of the steps that make up the vehicle design activities for the automotive industry companies that exist and compete in the market, bring about significant gains. In the manufacturing industry, the design of the vehicle determines the market spread, while the competitive conditions are driven by the new or improved product decision. In both cases, the automotive industry firms must know the stages of the most appropriate vehicle design in their own right, and the steps of forming new project dynamics must be devised in this direction. In this study, the result oriented activity of the current vehicle design phases used in the automotive industry companies is determined and the order of importance of the stages is listed. For this purpose, under the same conditions of competition (the same market, the same class vehicles develops and manufactures), 4 in the automotive firm administration, a total of 40 employees (4 × 10 process manager) with the vehicle design was evaluated by determining the effectiveness of the use of the stage. At this stage, analytic hierarchy methods applied to each of the phases are explored in practice instead of the use of the significance level automotive company. Study of the vehicle design phase of the automotive industry: structure, process modifications or new project reveals the important values to be configured according to the size.展开更多

In this study, the application of control chart for analyzing the stability of software process and defects in the software product is discussed. This paper will discuss the analyzing impact or collision of rework effort, defect density, inspection performance and productivity by using control charts. This paper also explains the benefits and challenges of using control charts in software organization.展开更多

Although in project management system, workflow management system and PDM system, process management functions are provided, they can not meet the needs of product development. In this paper, we integrate the project management, workflow management and product management technique together and a concurrent engineering oriented integrated product development process management system is proposed. The system structure, integrated product development model and running method are introduced. The practice proves this system is powerful in supporting product development process.展开更多

While evidence over the past decade underscores their effectiveness across various domains, particularly agriculture, to maximize their potential, it is crucial to identify emerging priority areas and existing research gaps for future research agendas. As a contribution to this effort, this paper employs the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) methodology to review the state-of-the-art in the field of climate services for disaster risk management. A comprehensive search across five literature databases combined with a snowball search method using ResearchRabbit was conducted and yielded 242 peer-reviewed articles, book sections, and reports over 2013-2023 after the screening process. The analysis revealed flood, drought, and food insecurity as major climate-related disasters addressed in the reviewed literature. Major climate services addressed included early warning systems, (sub)seasonal forecasts and impact-based warnings. Grounded in the policy processes’ theoretical perspective, the main focus identified and discussed three prevailing policy-oriented priority areas: 1) development of climate services, 2) use-adoption-uptake, and 3) evaluation of climate services. In response to the limitations of the prevalent supply-driven and top-down approach to climate services promotion, co-production emerges as a cross-cutting critical aspect of the identified priority areas. Despite the extensive research in the field, more attention is needed, particularly pronounced in the science-policy interface perspective, which in practice bridges scientific knowledge and policy decisions for effective policy processes. This perspective offers a valuable analytical lens as an entry point for further investigation. Hence, future research agendas would generate insightful evidence by scrutinizing this critical aspect given its importance to institutions and climate services capacity, to better understand intricate facets of the development and the integration of climate services into disaster risk management.展开更多
