Modeling and Investigation of the Wall Thickness Changes and Process Time in Thermo-Mechanical Tube Spinning Process Using Design of Experiments

Tube spinning technology is one of the effective methods of manufacturing large diameter thin-walled shapes. In this research, effects of major parameters of thermo mechanical tube spinning process such as preform's thickness, percentage of thickness reduction, mandrel rotational speed, feed rate, solution treatment time and aging treatment time on the wall thickness changes and process time in thermo-mechanical tube spinning process for fabrication of 2024 aluminum spun tubes using design of experiments (DOE), are studied. The statistical results are verified through some experiments. Results of experimental evaluation are analyzed by variance analysis and mathematic models are obtained. Finally using these models, input parameters for optimum production are achieved.

Finite-Time Thermodynamic Simulation of Circulating Direct Condensation Heat Recovery on Chillers

A time series model is used in this paper to describe the progress of circulating direct condensation heat recovery of the compound condensing process (CCP) which is made of two water cooling condensing processes in series for a centrifugal chiller in the paper. A finite-time thermodynamics method is used to set up the time series simulation model. As a result, an upper bound of recoverable condensation heat for the compound condensing process is obtained which is in good agreement with experimental result. And the result is valuable and useful to optimization design of condensing heat recovery.

Gesture Recognition Based on Time-of-Flight Sensor and Residual Neural Network

With the advancement of technology and the increase in user demands, gesture recognition played a pivotal role in the field of human-computer interaction. Among various sensing devices, Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensors were widely applied due to their low cost. This paper explored the implementation of a human hand posture recognition system using ToF sensors and residual neural networks. Firstly, this paper reviewed the typical applications of human hand recognition. Secondly, this paper designed a hand gesture recognition system using a ToF sensor VL53L5. Subsequently, data preprocessing was conducted, followed by training the constructed residual neural network. Then, the recognition results were analyzed, indicating that gesture recognition based on the residual neural network achieved an accuracy of 98.5% in a 5-class classification scenario. Finally, the paper discussed existing issues and future research directions.

A dynamic programming algorithm for scheduling problems on earliness award and tardiness penalty with time-dependent processing time

In this paper, a single-machine scheduling model with a given common due date is considered. Job processing time is a linear decreasing function of its starting time. The objective function is to minimize the total weighted earliness award and tardiness penalty. Our aim is to find an optimal schedule so as to minimize the objective function. As the problem is NP-hard, some properties and polynomial time solvable cases of this problem are given. A dynamic programming algorithm for the general case of the problem is provided.

IMC-PID tuning method based on sensitivity specification for process with time-delay

To overcome the deficiencies addressed in the conventional PID control and improve the dynamic performance and robustness of the system,a simple design and parameters tuning approach of internal model control-PID(IMC-PID) controller was proposed for the first order plus time-delay(FOPTD) process and the second order plus time-delay(SOPTD) process.By approximating the time-delay term of the process model with the first-order Taylor series,the expressions for IMC-PID controller parameters were derived,and they had only one adjustable parameter λ which was directly related to the dynamic performance and robustness of the system.Moreover,an analytical approach of selecting λ was given based on the maximum sensitivity Ms.Then,the robust tuning of the system could be achieved according to the value of Ms.In addition,the proposed method could be extended to the integrator plus time-delay(IPTD) process and the first order delay integrating(FODI) process.Simulation studies were carried out on various processes with time-delay,and the results show that the proposed method could provide a better dynamic performance of both the set-point tracking and disturbance rejection and robustness against parameters perturbation.

Anti-windup Scheme for the Controller of Integrating Processes with Dead-time

For the first-order integrating processes with long delay, the disturbance observer-based 2DoF control scheme is analyzed in detail with regard to the control input limitation. After that, a simple anti-windup scheme, without an additional parameter, is proposed to compensate for the adverse effects of the input saturation. The proposed method can properly keep the control signal saturated for an optimum length of time without discarding the control energy. The simulation results show that the control input saturation can dramatically degrade the closed loop system performance. Under the nominal and model uncertainty cases, the controller with anti-windup strategy will obtain fast and smooth responses. Furthermore, the simulation results illustrate that the proposed anti-windup scheme may achieve good performance for the high order integrating processes with long delay.

New multi-DSP parallel computing architecture for real-time image processing

The flexibility of traditional image processing system is limited because those system are designed for specific applications. In this paper, a new TMS320C64x-based multi-DSP parallel computing architecture is presented. It has many promising characteristics such as powerful computing capability, broad I/O bandwidth, topology flexibility, and expansibility. The parallel system performance is evaluated by practical experiment.

Processing Time Prediction Method Based on SVR in Semiconductor Manufacturing

The prediction problem of the actual value of the dynamic parameters in the simulation model in semiconductor manufacturing was discussed. Considering the fact that the default value of processing time of one certain equipment in the simulation model was not the same as its actual value,a general data driven prediction model of the processing time was built based on support vector regression( SVR),with the utilization of manufacturing information in manufacturing execution system( MES). The processing time of one certain equipment was highly related to the status of the equipment itself and the wafers being processed. To uncover the relationship of the processing time with the information of historical products,process flow,technical standard of silicon wafers and manual intervention,data were extracted from MES and used to build a prediction model. This model was employed on an ion implantation equipment as a case, and the effectiveness of the proposed method was shown by comparing with other approaches.

SELF-INTERSECTION LOCAL TIME OF ADDITIVE LEVY PROCESS

This article discusses the problem of existence of jointly continuous self-intersection local time for an additive levy process. Here, 'local time' is understood in the sense of occupation density, and by an additive Levy process the authors mean a process X = {X(t),t∈ R+N} which has the decomposition X = Xi X2 … XN, each Xl has the lower index αl, α= min{α1,…, αN}. Let Z = (Xt2 - Xt1, …, Xtr - Xtr-1). They prove that if Nrα > d(r-1), then a jointly continuous local time of Z, i.e. the self-intersection local time of X, can be obtained.

LOCAL TIME ANALYSIS OF ADDITIVE LVY PROCESSES WITH DIFFERENT LVY EXPONENTS

High Accuracy Time of Flight Measurement Using Digital Signal Processing Techniques for Subsea Applications

The techniques widely used in ultrasonic measurements are based on the determination of the time of flight (T.o.F). A short train of waves is transmitted and same transducer is used for reception of the reflected signal for the pulse-echo measurement applications. The amplitude of the received waveform is an envelope which starts from zero reaches to a peak and then dies out. The echoes are mostly detected by simple threshold crossing technique, which is also cause of error. In this paper digital signal processing is used to calculate the time delay in reception i.e. T.o.F, for which a maximum similarity between the reference and the delayed echo signals is obtained. To observe the effect of phase uncertainties and frequency shifts (Doppler), this processing is carried out, both directly on the actual wave shape and after extracting the envelopes of the reference and delayed echo signals. Several digital signal processing algorithms are considered and the effects of different factors such as sampling rate, resolution of digitization and S/N ratio are analyzed. Result show accuracy, computing time and cost for different techniques.

Just-in-time learning based integrated MPC-ILC control for batch processes

Considering the two-dimension(2 D) characteristic and the unknown optimal trajectory problem of the batch processes, an integrated model predictive control-iterative learning control(MPC-ILC) for batch processes is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the batch-axis information and time-axis information are combined into one quadratic performance index. It implies the integration of ILC and MPC algorithm idea, which leads to superior tracking performance and better robustness against disturbance and uncertainty. To address the problem of the unknown optimal trajectory, both time-varying prediction horizon and end product quality control are employed. Moreover, an integrated 2 D just-in-time learning(JITL) model is used to improve the predictive accuracy. Furthermore, rigorous description and proof are presented to prove the convergence and tracking performance of the proposed MPC-ILC strategy. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

A Flexible DSP-Based Network forReal-Time Image-Processing

This paper proposed a general purpose real-time image processing system based on a flexible DSP-based Network, which is implemented by a high bandwidth communication channel, links. The links is realized using FPGA and provides a bandwidth of 12. 8 Gbit/s. Using the links, The topologic of multi-DSP system can be changed online to meet the variabilities of the parallel algorithm of image processing. The system can be assembled with utmost tens of boards and maintain the high communication speed. Analysis of the system adaptivity to image processing is testified followed by actual results. Strong NP-Hardness of Single Machine Scheduling Problems with Variable Processing Time

In this paper, single machine scheduling problems with variable processing time is discussed according to published instances of management engineering. Processing time of a job is the product of a “coefficient' of the job on position i and a “normal' processing time of the job. The criteria considered is to minimize scheduled length of all jobs. A lemma is proposed and proved. In no deadline constrained condition, the problem belongs to polynomial time algorithm. It is proved by using 3 partition that if the problem is deadline constrained, its complexity is strong NP hard. Finally, a conjuncture is proposed that is to be proved.

Modeling and Design of Real-Time Pricing Systems Based on Markov Decision Processes

A real-time pricing system of electricity is a system that charges different electricity prices for different hours of the day and for different days, and is effective for reducing the peak and flattening the load curve. In this paper, using a Markov decision process (MDP), we propose a modeling method and an optimal control method for real-time pricing systems. First, the outline of real-time pricing systems is explained. Next, a model of a set of customers is derived as a multi-agent MDP. Furthermore, the optimal control problem is formulated, and is reduced to a quadratic programming problem. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented.

Range walk and array rotation in space-time adaptive processing:effects and compensations

This paper proposes a unified clutter model incorporating the effects of range walk and array rotation for space-time adaptive processing（STAP） in airborne multi-channel early-warning radar.Based on this clutter model,STAP performance is then analyzed from the perspective of covariance matrix tapering（CMT）.For STAP performance degradation due to array rotation,a determinate compensation method is proposed based on the CMT method.Numerical examples are provided to verify the analysis and the proposed compensation method.
