Formation of nine hiogenic amines was determined in three sausage groups produced from hot deboned (A1) and cold meat (B1, B3) during drying and ripening in traditional room (A1, B1) and in industrial ripening chamber (B3). Dansyl chloride derived amines were analysed by high-performance liquid chromatography with diode-array detector (HPLC-DAD) on Eclipse XDB-C18 column. Histamine, the most important amine from food safety point of view, was not found in any of the analyzed samples. Serotonin and spermidine were also not detected in any samples, while spermin was determined in all analyzed samples. At the end of drying, phenylethylamine was the predominant amine in A1 sausage group (51.6 mg/kg), and tryptamine in B1 (38.1 mg/kg) and B3 (28.7 mg/kg) sausage groups. At the end of ripening, tryptamine was the predominant biogenic amine in all sausage groups (133, 121 and 39.8 mg/kg in A1, B1 and B3 groups, respectively). Total level of biogenic amines in all investigated sausages did not exceed 174 mg/kg at the end of drying and 238 mg/kg at the end of ripening period. Tryptamine and cadaverine may be used as indicators of total biogenic amines for sausages produced in traditional and indusrial conditions from hot deboned and cold meat.展开更多

Ease of use is one of the main criteria that customers consider when making a purchase decision.To provide a pleasant experience to the customers,offering products or services consisting of advanced features and funct...Ease of use is one of the main criteria that customers consider when making a purchase decision.To provide a pleasant experience to the customers,offering products or services consisting of advanced features and functions is no longer enough,due to the existing competition in the global market.In reality,the ease of use of any product is influenced by the conditions of the product and the familiarity of the user.This study examines the influence of the familiarity and the product conditions on the ease of use of a product.This only explains how the conditions of the product and the familiarity of the user,influence on the ease of use of a product when the usage hours of a product increases.A case study would be conducted to validate the results.The results of this study indicate that in the case where both the product conditions and the familiarity has been varied,the ease of use of the product has been increased from 0.229 to 0.380 gradually within the 10 weeks period.Through these results valuable guidance could be obtained by the manufacturers to identify how the ease of use level of a product deviates from the standard level when the usage hours of the product would increase.展开更多

A method is presented to calculate the cost of uncertainty in a production schedule based on deviations from the target production. A mixed integer linear programming algorithm is formulated to find the min- ing sequence of blocks from a predefined pit shell and their respective destinations, with two objectives: to maximize the net present value of the operation and to minimize the cost of uncertainty. An efficient clustering technique reduces the number of var/ables to make the problem tractable. Also, the parameters that control the importance of uncertainty in the optimization problem are studied. The minimum annual mining capacity in presence of grade uncertainty is assessed. The method is illustrated with an oil sand deposit in northern Alberta.展开更多

The research of removing rain from pictures or videos has always been an important topic in the field of computer vision and image processing. Most noise reduction methods more or less remove texture details in rain-f...The research of removing rain from pictures or videos has always been an important topic in the field of computer vision and image processing. Most noise reduction methods more or less remove texture details in rain-free areas, resulting in an over-smoothing effect in the restored background. The research on image noise removal is very meaningful. We exploit the powerful generative power of a modified generative adversarial network (CGAN) by enforcing an additional condition that makes the derained image indistinguishable from its corresponding ground-truth clean image. An efficient and lightweight attention machine mechanism NAM is introduced in the generator, and an IDN-CGAN model is proposed to capture image salient features through attention operations. Taking advantage of the mutual information in different dimensions of the features to further suppress insignificant channels or pixels to ensure better visual quality, we also introduce a new fine-grained loss function in the generator-discriminator pair, predicting and real data degree of disparity to achieve improved results.展开更多
There is debating over the question of whether the large-scale‘Grain for Green’program on the Loess Plateau of China threatens regional food security.Self-sufficiency index and cropland pressure index were used to a...There is debating over the question of whether the large-scale‘Grain for Green’program on the Loess Plateau of China threatens regional food security.Self-sufficiency index and cropland pressure index were used to assess food security on the Loess Plateau after the implementation of revegetation program.The results showed that the‘Grain for Green’program initially had a considerable impact on regional food security,where grain yield fell from 1999 to 2001,resulting in a lower grain self-sufficiency and increased farmland stress.Subsequently,grain yield in this region increased due to the elevated agricultural material input and increased construction of terraces and check dams.The grain self-sufficiency index would have increased to 96.55%if there were improvements to the agricultural conditions,such as fertilization and irrigation,which would have resulted in an increase in the crop yield per unit of 20%.However,the grain self-sufficiency increased to 105.25%via the construction of terraces and check dams.Thus,the government should further expand the‘Grain for Green’program in coordination with improvements to the agricultural production conditions and the construction of terraces and check dams on the Loess Plateau.展开更多
