Results show that nitrogen content reduces gradually in converter-steelmaking stage, rises rapidly from the end of converter process to the end of argon station process, continues to increase in ladle furnace process, and decreases slightly in RH refining stage. Since nitrogen is removed mainly by BOF steelmaking and vacuum refining operations, nitrogen in molten steel should be removed as much as possible in these two operations. However, nitrogen uptake should be minimized in other operations of molten steel production process.展开更多
A hierarchical closed-loop production control scheme integrating scheduling,control and performance evaluation is discussed.Firstly,the production process is divided into two main hierarchies:the lower level is the ph...A hierarchical closed-loop production control scheme integrating scheduling,control and performance evaluation is discussed.Firstly,the production process is divided into two main hierarchies:the lower level is the physical operation level and the upper one is the management level.Secondly,the schedule template for the management level and the activity template for the physical operation level are constructed separately,the tasks in the schedule have the ability to make partial decisions,and the per- formance parameters are introduced into activity template.Thirdly,the two levels use different model representations:stochastic process algebra for the management level whose output is the control commands and stochastic Petri net for the physical operation lev- el which is the execution of the control commands.Then,the integration of the two levels is the control commands mapping into the lower physical operations and the responses feeding back to the upper decision-making that are defined by some transition functions. Under the proposed scheme,the production process control of a flexible assembly is exemplified.It is concluded that the process con- trol model has partial ability to make decision on-line for uncertain and dynamic environments and facilitates reasoning about the be- haviors of the process control,and performance evaluation can be done online for real-time scheduling to ensure the global optimiza- tion.展开更多

This requires the stable velocities and velocity ratios of large number rollers separated throughout the workshop. To this goal,a distributed cooperative controller is designed to coordinate the velocities of the rollers to the desired values as well as the target ratios between the upper and lower rollers. During the whole evolution,only the neighbor rollers can exchange the working information,and neither global information nor central controller is required. Semi structured questionnai...Introduction: The present work was devoted to assess the awareness and usage of quality control tools with the emphasis on statistical process control in Ethiopian manufacturing industries. Semi structured questionnaire has been employed to executive and technical managers of manufacturing industries of various size and specialism across the country. Stratified random sample method by region was used to select sample industries for the study. The samples used for this study are industries mainly from Oromiya, Addis Ababa, Tigray, Amara, SNNP and Diredawa regions proportional to their size of the available industries. Methods: Exploratory method and descriptive statistics was used for data analysis. Available documents and reports related to quality control policy of the selected companies were investigated. Results and Discussions: The number of manufacturing industries involved in this study was 44. Of the sampled manufacturing industries about 60% are from Oromiya and Addis Ababa regions. It has been reported that 100% of the respondents said that the importance of quality control tools is very important to their organizations’ productivity and quality improvement (Figure 3). Quality control professionals were also asked the extent to which quality control system is working in their industry and majority of the respondents (45%) have indicated that quality control system is working to some extent in their respective industries (Figure 18). Conclusions and Recommendations: Most of the quality department of the industries did not fully recognize the importance of statistical process control as quality control tools. This is mainly due to lack of awareness and motivation of the top managements, shortage of man power in the area, and others together would make it difficult to apply quality control tools in their organization. In general, the industries in Ethiopia are deficient in vigor and found to be stagnant hence less exposed to a highly competitive market and don’t adopt the latest quality control techniques in order to gain knowledge about systems to improve quality and operational performance. We conclude that quality management system has to be established as an independent entity with a real power and hence the quality control department which is responsible for quality can make an irreversible decision with respect to quality of any given product. Moreover, the concerned bodies (government and ministry of industries) should give attention and work together with universities to ensure how these statistical process control techniques could be incorporated in a curriculum of the universities at higher levels in degree and masters programs. Furthermore, different trainings which could improve quality and efficiency of their respective management system should be given as short and long term to the employees including top and middle managers found in various industries relevant to their process.展开更多

Semiconductor fabrication is a manufacturing sequence with hundreds of sophisticated unit operations and it is always challenged by strategy development for ensuring the yield of defect-free products.In this paper,an ...Semiconductor fabrication is a manufacturing sequence with hundreds of sophisticated unit operations and it is always challenged by strategy development for ensuring the yield of defect-free products.In this paper,an advanced control strategy through integrating product and process control is established.The proposed multiscale scheme contains three layers for coordinated equipment control,process control and product quality control.In the upper layer,online control performance assessment is applied to reduce the quality variation and maximize the overall product performance (OPP).It serves as supervisory control to update the recipe of the process controller in the middle layer.The process controller is designed as an exponentially weighted moving average (EWMA) run-to-run controller to reject disturbances,such as process shift,drift and tool worn out,that are exerted to the op-eration.The equipment in the process is individually controlled to maintain its optimal operational status and maximize the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE),based on the set point given by the process controller.The ef-ficacy of the proposed integrated control scheme is demonstrated through case studies,where both the OPP (for product) and the OEE (for equipment) are enhanced.展开更多

The failure rate of the manufacturing machine depends on its production rate, while the failure rate of the remanufacturing machine is constant. In the proposed model, the manufacturing machine is characterized by a higher production rate. The machines produce one type of final product and unmet demand is backlogged. At the expected end of their usage, products are collected from the market and kept in recoverable inventory for future remanufacturing, or disposed of. The objective of the system is to find the production rates of the manufacturing and the remanufacturing machines that would minimize a discounted overall cost consisting of serviceable inventory cost, backlog cost and holding cost for returns. A computational algorithm, based on numerical methods, is used for solving the optimality conditions obtained from the application of the stochastic dynamic programming approach. Finally, a numerical example and sensitivity analyses are presented to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed approach. Our results clearly show that the optimal control policy of the system is obtained when the failure rates of the machine depend on its production rate.展开更多

By the quantitative FTIR analysis of bauxite during dissolution , the process of dissolution and precipitation of silica was found to occur in three stages. In the first stage, there was no precipitation of desilication product (DSP). All the silica dissolved from kaolinite went into the solution. In the second stage, the silica concentration in solution attained a maximum and then dropped very quickly. The precipitation of DSP was the main cause of the reduction of the silica concentration in solution. In the third stage, the concentration of DSP reached a constant level. The dissolution and precipitation process gradually attained an equilibrium. The mechanism of silica dissolution and DSP precipitation was discussed on the basis of the FTIR quantitative analysis of kaolinite and DSP in bauxite.展开更多

Because a variable demand resource is involved in the production and corrective maintenance control problems of the system, which switched randomly between zero and a maximum level, it is difficult to obtain the analytical solutions of the optimal single hedging point policy. An asymptotic optimal scheduling policy is presented and a double hedging point policy is offered to control simultaneously the production rate and the corrective maintenance rate of the system. The corresponding analytical solutions and approximate solutions are obtained. Considering the relationship of production, corrective maintenance and demand variable, an approximate optimal single hedging point control policy is proposed. Numerical results are presented.展开更多

Aiming at the multi-objective quality control problem of a company's cold-rolled products, based on industrial production data, we proposed a process parameter design and optimization method that combined multi-objective quality prediction and PPO. This method used the multi-output support vector regression(MSVR) method to simultaneously predict multiple quality indices. The MSVR prediction model was used as the effect verification model of the PPO results. It performed multi-process parameter collaborative design and realized the optimization of production process parameters for customized multi-objective quality requirements. The experimental results showed that, compared with the traditional single-objective quality prediction model based on support vector regression(SVR), the multi-objective prediction model could better take into account the coupling effect between process parameters and quality index, the MSVR model prediction accuracy was higher than that of the SVR, and the optimized process parameters were more capable and reflected the influence of metallurgical mechanism on the quality index,which were more in line with actual production process requirements.展开更多

According to the distributed intelligent control strategy based on the multi (agent,) the multi agent control system of cement production is built, which includes integrated optimal control and diagnosis control. The distributed and multiple level structure of multi agent system for the cement control is studied. The optimal agent is in the distributed state, which aims at the partial process of the cement production, and forms the optimal layer. The diagnosis agent located on the diagnosis layer is the diagnosis unit which aims at the whole process of the cement production, and the central management unit of the system. The system cooperation is realized by the communication among optimal agents and diagnosis agent. The architecture of the optimal agent and the diagnosis agent are designed. The detailed functions of the optimal agent and the diagnosis agent are analyzed. At last the realization methods of the agents are given, and the application of the multi agent control system is presented. The multi agent system has been successfully applied to the off-line control of one cement plant with capacity of 5 000 t/d. The results show that the average yield of the clinker increases 9.3% and the coal consumption decreases 7.5 kg/t.展开更多

Because a variable demand resource is involved in the production and corrective maintenance control problems of the system, which switched randomly between zero and a maximum level, it is difficult to obtain the analytical solutions of the optimal single hedging point policy. An asymptotic optimal scheduling policy is presented and a double hedging point policy is offered to control simultaneously the production rate and the corrective maintenance rate of the system. The corresponding analytical solutions and approximate solutions are obtained. Considering the relationship of production, corrective maintenance and demand variable, an approximate optimal single hedging point control policy is proposed. Numerical results are presented.
文摘In order to solve information island problem of offshore oil and gas field production-related information system,including repetitive reporting and input of data,data isolation of central control system,inadequate follow-up analysis and development to support oil and gas field production management,and so on.Therefore,the introduction of MES(Manufacturing Execution System)production execution system in the manufacturing industry and downstream production of offshore oil has become an inevitable choice.This system utilizes the real-time database combined with relational database to collect the scattered structured data,such as the production process real-time data,production management documents and statistical tables of offshore oil and gas production facilities.It establishes a unified data center platform for each operation area and production site,so as to centralize the related production management data at production sites.This system realizes many functions,including the production management support like production report generation as well as presentation and POB,equipment management support like PM optimization,remote configuration and monitoring of production operation,status trend analysis,and production event prediction.The implementation of MES system in offshore oil and gas field production management perfects the overall information system of China National Offshore Oil Corporation more and gradually enhances its comprehensive benefits.
文摘With regards to the assembly line of cost control of Dechang(HK)company,the motor housing’s cost control of process will be necessarily respected.Because the supply quantity is big in a machine the price of motor housing is small,so that the cost control of automatic production line is significant with modeling.It is found that the control of equipment includes in shaft and crank linkage for benefit which also needs to be controlled in detail.For the sake of benefits can we fundamentally resolve the main problem of high cost process.

文摘To deal with the increasing demand for low-volume customization of the mechanical properties of cold-rolled products, a two-way control method based on mechanical property prediction and process parameter optimization(PPO) has become an effective solution. Aiming at the multi-objective quality control problem of a company's cold-rolled products, based on industrial production data, we proposed a process parameter design and optimization method that combined multi-objective quality prediction and PPO. This method used the multi-output support vector regression(MSVR) method to simultaneously predict multiple quality indices. The MSVR prediction model was used as the effect verification model of the PPO results. It performed multi-process parameter collaborative design and realized the optimization of production process parameters for customized multi-objective quality requirements. The experimental results showed that, compared with the traditional single-objective quality prediction model based on support vector regression(SVR), the multi-objective prediction model could better take into account the coupling effect between process parameters and quality index, the MSVR model prediction accuracy was higher than that of the SVR, and the optimized process parameters were more capable and reflected the influence of metallurgical mechanism on the quality index,which were more in line with actual production process requirements.
文摘In this paper, a real-time computation method for the control problems in differential-algebraic systems is presented. The errors of the method are estimated, and the relation between the sampling stepsize and the controlled errors is analyzed. The stability analysis is done for a model problem, and the stability region is ploted which gives the range of the sampling stepsizes with which the stability of control process is guaranteed.
文摘Cement production is characterized by its great capacity, long-time delay, multi variables, difficult measurement and multi disturbances. According to the distributed intelligent control strategy based on the multi (agent,) the multi agent control system of cement production is built, which includes integrated optimal control and diagnosis control. The distributed and multiple level structure of multi agent system for the cement control is studied. The optimal agent is in the distributed state, which aims at the partial process of the cement production, and forms the optimal layer. The diagnosis agent located on the diagnosis layer is the diagnosis unit which aims at the whole process of the cement production, and the central management unit of the system. The system cooperation is realized by the communication among optimal agents and diagnosis agent. The architecture of the optimal agent and the diagnosis agent are designed. The detailed functions of the optimal agent and the diagnosis agent are analyzed. At last the realization methods of the agents are given, and the application of the multi agent control system is presented. The multi agent system has been successfully applied to the off-line control of one cement plant with capacity of 5 000 t/d. The results show that the average yield of the clinker increases 9.3% and the coal consumption decreases 7.5 kg/t.
