A novel method for 3-D corner detection is proposed based on the image graph grammar, and it can detect the 3-D features of corners to some extent. An expert system for biomass soft-sensor hybrid modeling in fermentation process was decribed in this paper.A production rules representation based on database was presented.The definitions of production rules for bio...An expert system for biomass soft-sensor hybrid modeling in fermentation process was decribed in this paper.A production rules representation based on database was presented.The definitions of production rules for biomass soft-sensor hybrid modeling knowledge were proposed.A knowledge base with layered structure was introduced.A breadth-first reasoning approach based on match degree(BFMD) was developed.The definition and calculation method of match degree were illustrated.Compared with the depth-first reasoning approach based on exhaustive method(DFEM),the BFMD needs fewer introduced variables.This expert system could reduce the reasoning steps effectively,and advance reasoning efficiency.Tests shows that reasoning efficiency of the expert system using BFMD in the knowledge base with layered structure is improved 12.9% averagely,compared with using DFEM in the knowledge base with ranking structure.展开更多

Compressed air--a major industrial energy carrier, its filters are used to reach the required cleanliness level of compressed air. These filters, however, introduce a pressure drop which results in a loss of energy. I...Compressed air--a major industrial energy carrier, its filters are used to reach the required cleanliness level of compressed air. These filters, however, introduce a pressure drop which results in a loss of energy. It is shown that over the life cycle of a compressed air filter, the pressure drop dominates the total energy consumption and subsequently, the carbon footprint. From an economic as well as ecologic point of view, a reduction of the pressure drop is hence of utmost importance. Based on this finding and structuring, the wide range of applications and operational parameters, a pragmatic and technically feasible eco-labeling system for compressed air filters was developed as a decision supporting tool. Using this tool, procurement managers as well as the process engineers and environmental officers are able to steer the selection of suitable compressed air filters. The approach has been proposed to and discussed with various representatives of the compressed air filter industry nevertheless there is probably a long way to go to establish such a labeling procedure in industry.展开更多
For workflow-based service composition approach,the relations between the Web service QoS and environments are usually not considered,so that the information about QoS for composite service selection is inaccurate.It ...For workflow-based service composition approach,the relations between the Web service QoS and environments are usually not considered,so that the information about QoS for composite service selection is inaccurate.It makes the selected composite service inefficient,or even unexecutable.To address this problem,a novel service composition approach based on production QoS rules is proposed in this paper.Generally,it is very difficult to directly analyze how different kinds of environment factors influence the Web service QoS.We adopt "black-box" analysis method of optimizing composite services,discovering the knowledge such as "the QoS of one Web service will be higher in specific environments".In our approach,the execution information of the composite service is recorded into a log first,which will be taken as the basis of the subsequent statistical analysis and data mining.Then,the timely QoS values of the Web services are estimated and the production QoS rules being used to qualitatively express the different performances of the Web service QoS in different environments are mined.At last,we employ the mined QoS knowledge of the Web services to optimize the composite service selection.Extensive experimental results show that our approach can improve the performance of selected composite services on the premise of assuring the selecting computation cost.展开更多
