This paper addresses the integrated processes of planning and scheduling of projects using technologies advanced tools as means for managing change in the era of the 4IR.The paper explores the traditional project management planning and scheduling tools in conjunction with what technology has to offer,to bridge the gap between the traditional project management planning and scheduling tools and what the modern-day business market demands.An analysis of literature covering a wide range of theoretic and empirical studies was performed.The theories underlying various planning and scheduling methods were analysed in relation to the design of projects.A descriptive quantitative secondary data was used as a tool to assess the impact of technology on project planning for scheduling.The analysis of the study’s data was conducted using the principles of cross-tabulation.Inferences were drawn on the significant impact of the use of advanced technological tools on project planning for scheduling in current business time.Organisations can make use of the findings of this study to correctly apply the available advanced technological tools for more efficient schedule management planning to enhance the successful delivery of their projects.Further,this research can be used to provide learning opportunities for new and inexperienced planners and schedulers,and as a basis for further research in this field of knowledge. 展开更多

The critical path method is one of the oldest and most important techniques used for planning and scheduling projects.The main objective of project management science is to determine the critical path through a network representation of projects.The critical path through a network can be determined by many algorithms and is useful for managing,monitoring,and controlling the time and cost of an entire project.The essential problem in this case is that activity durations are uncertain;time presents considerable uncertainty because the time of an activity is not always easily or accurately estimated.This issue increases the need to use neutrosophic theory to solve the critical path problem.Real-world problems are characterized by a lack of precision,consistency,and completeness.The concept of neutrosophic sets has been introduced as a generalization of fuzzy,intuitionistic fuzzy,and crisp sets to overcome the ambiguity surrounding real-world problems.Truth-,falsity-,and indeterminacy-membership functions are used to express neutrosophic elements.This study was performed to examine a neutrosophic event-oriented algorithm for determining the critical path in activity-on-arc networks.The activity time estimates are presented as trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers,and score and accuracy functions are used to obtain a crisp model of the problem.An appropriate numerical example is then used to explain the proposed method. 展开更多

Modern international project management has entered the phase of precise and accurate project management after the global financial crisis broke out at the beginning of the 21 stcentury. However, its development has faced new challenges since there has been lack of explicitly unanimous definition for the capability dimensions of precise and accurate project management, as well as the models and their process control parameters. The required core capabilities based on the precise and accurate project management for various rings are involved in the project life cycle, namely, the required internationally core competences and their components for the phases of project strategic planning and decision making in the early project phase, as well as the value engineering, and the project supervision and controls during the execution phase.Through studying the effects of the internationally core competences based on precise and accurate project management capabilities for the success and excellence of projects and configuring such models, the goal is to help the main contractors continuously obtain project success and excellence, thus improve its internationally core competences with continuous project success and excellence. 展开更多

Applying the transfer matrix and Green’s function methods,we study the valley-resolved transport properties of zigzag graphene nanoribbon(ZGN_(R))junctions.The width of the left and right ZGN_(R)s are N_(L)and N_(R),and N_(L)≥N_(R).The step/dip positions of the conductance G,the intravalley transmission coefficients(TKKand TK’K’),and the valley polarization efficiency PK’K correspond to the subband edges of the right/left ZGN_(R)that are controlled by N_(R)/N_(L).The intervalley transmission coefficients(TKK and TK’K)exhibit peaks at most of the subband edge of the left and right ZGN_(R)s.In the bulk gap of the right ZGN_(R),TKK’=TK’K=0,and PKK’=±1,the valley polarization is well preserved.As N_(R)increases,the energy region for PK’K=±1 decreases.When N_(L)is fixed and N_(R)decreases,G,TKK,TK’K’and PKK’exhibit more and more dips,and the peaks of TKK’(TK’K)become more and more high,especially when(N_(L)-N_(R))/2 is odd.These characters are quite useful for manipulating the valley dependent transport properties of carriers in ZGN_(R)junctions by modulating N_(L)or N_(R),and our results are helpful to the design of valleytronics based on ZGN_(R)junctions. 展开更多
