Project teaching is a student-centered, inquiry-centered practice, with project activities centered learning model. Project teaching students focus on learning strategies to help students become independent learners, to improve students' motivation to help students learn practical ability, communication skills, collaboration skills, creative thinking skills and the ability to solve practical problems. Project-based learning in the late 1990s was introduced in China. Within ten years, research project studying abroad connotation, significance and theoretical foundation, extension are applied research to classroom practice. However, most of the research object of the project is teaching primary and secondary students, higher education, adult education and general higher education students in science and engineering students. Research related to the field of English teaching is not much; the theory is applied to the case of teaching practice rarely. Therefore, this article introduced the project teaching college English classroom, through the implementation of the teaching aims to stimulate the enthusiasm of the students, so that students learn more explicit goals, enhance self- confidence and motivation to learn, to develop their creativity, initiative and independent learning and the purpose of learning ability.展开更多

Computing students face the problem with time and quality of the work while managing their graduation/senior projects.Rapid Application Development(RAD)model is based on continual user involvement for the process of r...Computing students face the problem with time and quality of the work while managing their graduation/senior projects.Rapid Application Development(RAD)model is based on continual user involvement for the process of requirement gathering via prototyping.After each iteration,the developers can validate the requirements that are completed in the iteration.Managing a project with RAD is easier but not flexible.On the other hand,Agile project management techniques focus on flexibility,agility,teamwork and quality based on user stories.Continual user involvement is avoided,which requires extensive maintenance time for fixing iteration and release of the story points.This also makes it necessary to provide onsite training to the users of the application.This research provides the pros and cons of RAD and Agile project management techniques,to help students in deciding the best approach for managing their graduation projects.For the evaluation of these techniques,similar case studies were given to the senior project students(having similar CGPAs)for building similar functionality-based applications.The two projects“Life Organizer”developed and managed using RAD and“Smart Patient Assistant(SPA)”developed and managed through Agile methodology were evaluated against the quality assurance criteria for senior projects.The study found that the project developed with RAD methodology performed 13.33%better in providing extensive and elaborated documentation than the students following the Agile technique.On the other hand,SPA-Agile based project,due to teamwork had 2.5%better implementation than Life Organizer-RAD based project.展开更多

The architectural design studio course is generally considered the backbone of any architectural curriculum and follows a particular method of problem solving,which makes it a distinctive course.Graduation projects in...The architectural design studio course is generally considered the backbone of any architectural curriculum and follows a particular method of problem solving,which makes it a distinctive course.Graduation projects in most of the architectural programs are divided into two main phases,namely,research and project phases.Students generate many findings from the research phase that are considered challenges.The research problem emerges when students finish writing the research thesis,and most face difficulty in translating the collected data into actions to engage the initial idea of the project.Therefore,this study aims to high-light the transitional stage between the research and schematic design phases,which is described in this study as the"predesign bridging phase."The goal is to propose a practical strategy for bridging the gap between the research and schematic design phases to facilitate derivation of the design concept from different output variables to enable the creation of a suitable architectural morphological language.The study adopts two research methods.One is proposing a new pedagogical framework and applying it to the architectural graduation design studio at Prince Sultan University in Riyadh,Saudi Arabia.The other is conducting a survey among students to evaluate the efficiency of the proposed framework in helping them bridge the gap between the research and schematic design phases.Descriptive and inferential statistics analysis methods are used to analyze the research data and study the correlation between the reflection of the new applied framework in the predesign bridging phase and the students'satisfaction toward the final projects'product and performance in the final critique.This study ends with a conclusion on how the applied teaching strategies facilitate the project starting point and raises the importance of proposing and testing new assessment strategies that are suitable for each phase in the graduation design studio.展开更多

While studying the course "Professional foreign language", the monitoring of effectiveness of project method use in teaching a foreign language was made. Monitoring was conducted under the following criteria: percent of progress, percent of quality of knowledge, and the level of motivation in studying English. The educational methods of these courses require constant attention, regular review, and continuous development to remain consistent with the changing standards of the profession given the significance of these courses. The problem lies in the diversity and controversy of these methods, thereby implying inconsistency in the best practices. In this study, several questions are raised in terms of the nature of these courses, enrollment criteria, topic selection, learning experience, and assessment methods. This study aims to investigate the best practices of managing, supervising, and assessing architectural graduation projects to provide guidelines for establishing and/or developing these courses. An analytical deductive methodology is adopted. This methodology is supported by a survey of a sample of 105 worldwide academic architects and is structured into four sections, namely, the analysis of the components of graduation projects, the survey and its procedures, the quantitative findings of the survey, and a discussion of the issues and results. In architectural education,graduation projects represent the transition from academia to the profession,and they are the courses that encourage architecture students to demonstrate the knowledge acquired and the skill...In architectural education,graduation projects represent the transition from academia to the profession,and they are the courses that encourage architecture students to demonstrate the knowledge acquired and the skills developed throughout the educational program.This study aims to explore the instructors’perspectives on improving the pedagogy of architectural graduation projects.To achieve this aim,this study has adopted a qualitative method,applied analytical and deductive methodologies,and conducted a survey among 44 academic architects from architectural schools worldwide.This paper is structured into three sections.The first section provides an overview of the topic and its current related issues.The second section introduces the survey,its methods,tools,and procedures,and the participants’profiles.The third section presents the qualitative survey findings and their discussion.The conclusions of this study confirm the results of some previous studies.Some conclusions contradict common practices related to graduation projects,but the original approaches have been provided.The importance of this study inherits the relevance of adopting these courses;that is,for educators and employers to assess the extent to which graduates have acquired the competence necessary to practice architecture.展开更多

文摘In architectural education,graduation projects represent the transition from academia to the profession,and they are the courses that encourage architecture students to demonstrate the knowledge acquired and the skills developed throughout the educational program.This study aims to explore the instructors’perspectives on improving the pedagogy of architectural graduation projects.To achieve this aim,this study has adopted a qualitative method,applied analytical and deductive methodologies,and conducted a survey among 44 academic architects from architectural schools worldwide.This paper is structured into three sections.The first section provides an overview of the topic and its current related issues.The second section introduces the survey,its methods,tools,and procedures,and the participants’profiles.The third section presents the qualitative survey findings and their discussion.The conclusions of this study confirm the results of some previous studies.Some conclusions contradict common practices related to graduation projects,but the original approaches have been provided.The importance of this study inherits the relevance of adopting these courses;that is,for educators and employers to assess the extent to which graduates have acquired the competence necessary to practice architecture.

文摘The Duifene teaching platform is a product of various teaching methods,which greatly improves the traditional teaching method.This article introduces the function and characteristics of a blended teaching platform as well as its application for histology and embryology modules.In addition,the advantages and disadvantages of blended teaching method is also discussed.The application of this teaching platform for Construction Project Management modules encourages students to be more enthusiastic and interested toward learning.This allows a more convenient and rapid teacher-student and student-student interaction thereby improving the teaching and learning experiences.
文摘Project teaching method sets the carrier of teaching as a project, takes students as the main body, and changes the traditional teaching mode. Project teaching method, as a new teaching mode, has been applied to English teaching. It is a method that takes the project subject as the center and students complete a series of learning activities under the guidance of teachers. The ultimate goal of higher vocational education is to train technical and skilled talents for the society. Introducing the project teaching method into English teaching in higher vocational colleges, while stimulating students' enthusiasm for English learning and improving the practical application ability of language, the students' comprehensive professional ability is cultivated. For the language learning of students, the application of the project teaching method, the students will apply all the knowledge they have learned in practice based on the project intermediary. The introduction of the project teaching method is not only a challenge to the traditional teaching mode, but also effectively solves the problems in the teaching of public English courses.
文摘Due to the pandemic that is currently being experienced worldwide, educational institutions (HEIs) have had to reinvent and innovate the mode of teaching, in order to continue the process of training students at all educational levels. Higher education has not been immune to this situation, the institutions of this educational level face various challenges in remote teaching: one of them, perhaps the most important, was to answer the question: How to get the student to continue their undergraduate studies remotely? In this sense, it was necessary, on the part of the students and the teachers, a preparation to go from the face-to-face to the virtual mode. This paper addresses the specific case of the analysis of the teaching-learning process of the Teaching-Learning Unit (UEA for its acronym in Spanish) of Structured Programming and Numerical Methods for Engineering at the undergraduate level, at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Azcapotzalco (UAM-A) and its relation to the student’s way of thinking. Likewise, the analysis will be carried out if the way of thinking of the students of the sample influences their academic performance when studying the subject of Structured Programming and Numerical Methods for Engineering.
文摘In this paper, we conduct research on the new mode of computer education based on project driving methodology and teaching practice. Computer education is an important part in college education, application of computer technology can effectively cultivate students' ability and quality of information. Collaborative project teaching method of the implementation of the method can make students accept knowledge by only listen into doing which will not only enhance the students' ability but help teachers obtain better feedback as well which is meaningful and necessary. The proposed methodology and education pattern is proven to be effective and feasible.
