To fit in with the developing requirement of int and communication of protective relays, a protection egrated functions of protection measurement, control measurement and control system based on DeviceNet fieldbus is designed. The communication mechanism of DeviceNet is studied and data trigger modes, communication connection, message types and other key technologies are analyzed. The object modeling and device description of the device are realized too. Results of network test, dynamic simulation and test in the field indicate that this system can accomplish all the communication tasks in real time and can make precise response to every kind of faults of the motor, transformer, line and capacitor. Osteoarthritis(OA)is a prevalent joint disease with no effective treatment strategies.Aberrant mechanical stimuli was demonstrated to be an essential factor for OA pathogenesis.Although multiple studies have detected potential regulatory mechanisms underlying OA and have concentrated on developing novel treatment strategies,the epigenetic control of OA remains unclear.Histone demethylase JMJD3 has been reported to mediate multiple physiological and pathological processes,including cell differentiation,proliferation,autophagy,and apoptosis.However,the regulation of JMJD3 in aberrant force-related OA and its mediatory effect on disease progression are still unknown.In this work,we confirmed the upregulation of JMJD3 in aberrant forceinduced cartilage injury in vitro and in vivo.Functionally,inhibition of JMJD3 by its inhibitor,GSK-J4,or downregulation of JMJD3 by adenovirus infection of sh-JMJD3 could alleviate the aberrant force-induced chondrocyte injury.Mechanistic investigation illustrated that aberrant force induces JMJD3 expression and then demethylates H3K27me3 at the NR4A1 promoter to promote its expression.Further experiments indicated that NR4A1 can regulate chondrocyte apoptosis,cartilage degeneration,extracellular matrix degradation,and inflammatory responses.In vivo,anterior cruciate ligament transection(ACLT)was performed to construct an OA model,and the therapeutic effect of GSK-J4 was validated.More importantly,we adopted a peptide-si RNA nanoplatform to deliver si-JMJD3 into articular cartilage,and the severity of joint degeneration was remarkably mitigated.Taken together,our findings demonstrated that JMJD3 is flow-responsive and epigenetically regulates OA progression.Our work provides evidences for JMJD3 inhibition as an innovative epigenetic therapy approach for joint diseases by utilizing p5RHH-si RNA nanocomplexes. 展开更多

This paper investigates a control and protection strategy for a four-terminal modular multilevel converter(MMC)based high-voltage direct current(HVDC)system under a converter-side AC fault.Based on the system operating condition,a control and protection strategy against the fault with normal blocking of the converter is proposed.In practical,applications encountering such a fault,the MMC at the fault side may experience different conditions of blocking failure.The blocking failures may occur on:①the whole converter;②one converter arm;③one sub-module(SM)/several SMs of one converter arm;④other conditions.The phenomenon of the multi-terminal HVDC(MTDC)system following the fault is analyzed under the first three conditions with real-time simulations using the real-time digital simulator(RTDS).Based on the impact of different conditions on the MTDC system,the necessity of utilizing special control and protection is discussed.A special control and protection strategy is proposed for emergency conditions,and its effectiveness is verified by real-time simulation results. 展开更多

Synchronized wide area communication has become a mature technology,which makes the real-time interaction between the substations and the wide area protection and control system possible.However,the present protection and control system to handle this real-time data has been recognized to be deficient.This paper begins by reviewing the development history of power system protection,with special attention paid to the recent development in the field of wide-area and integrated protections,in order to look into the future development of protection and control systems.Then the concept of integrated wide area protection and control is introduced,where it can be shown that a hierarchical protection and control system provides the protection and control for wide area or regional power substations/plants and their associated power networks.The system is mainly divided into three levels:the local,the substation/plant,and the wide area/regional.The integrated functions at each level are described in details with an aim to develop an optimal coordination mechanism between each level.The key element in the proposed system is the wide area real-time protection and control information platform,which not only enables the merger of three lines of defence for power system protection and control,but also provides a perfect tool for the application of cloud computing in substations and power networks. 展开更多

Control technologies are innovated to satisfy increasingly complicated control demands of gas turbine engines.In terms of limit protection control,a novel model-based multivariable limit protection control method,which is achieved by adaptive command reconstruction and multiplecontrol loop selection and switch logic,is proposed in this paper to address the problem of balancing smaller thrust loss and safe operations by comparing with widely-used Min-Max logic.Five different combination modes of control loops,which represent the online control loop of last time instant and that of current time instant,is analyzed.Different command reconstructions are designed for these modes,which is based on static gain conversion of amplitude beyond limits by using an onboard model.The double-prediction based control loop selection and switch logic is developed to choose a control loop appropriately by comparing converted amplitude beyond limits regardless of one or more parameters tending to exceed limits.The proposed method is implemented in a twin-spool turbofan engine to achieve limit protection with direct thrust control,and the loss of thrust is improved by about 30% in comparison with the loss of thrust caused by Min-Max logic when limit protection control is activated,which demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

This paper aims at putting forward viewpoints regarding the use of stability technology to prevent and control cascading outages by examining recent blackout events.Based on the inquiry reports of the 2011 SouthwestAmerica blackout and the 2012 India power blackouts,event evolution features are first summarized from a stability perspective.Then a comparative analysis is conducted so as to propose suggestions of effective measures,either preventive or emergency,which could have avoided the blackouts.It is shown that applications of several mature technologies can create opportunities of preventing or interrupting the cascading development.These include offline dynamic simulation,online stability analysis and preventive control,real-time situational awareness and automatic emergency control.Further R&D directions are given to address the challenges of modern power systems as well.They cover system fault identification criterion of protection and control devices,verification of adaptability of control effect to system operating conditions,real-time operational management of emergency control measures and improvement of simulation accuracy. 展开更多
