Based on two kinds of proxy data, a tree-ring width chronology at Huashan and the wetness/dryness grade series around Xi'an in north-centralChina, thes presat study demonstrates how different types of proxy climaterecords can be combined to give a more reliable estimate of past climate thaneither record can be done individually. With comparison and correction of thetwo data sets, various statistical models can be developed from individual andcombined senes. Among them, the best combined model produced by theconditional quantile adjustmat method can be selected for reconstruction ofApril-July rainfall at Huashan back to 1600 A.D. 展开更多

The dissociation between data management and data ownership makes it difficult to protect data security and privacy in cloud storage systems.Traditional encryption technologies are not suitable for data protection in cloud storage systems.A novel multi-authority proxy re-encryption mechanism based on ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(MPRE-CPABE) is proposed for cloud storage systems.MPRE-CPABE requires data owner to split each file into two blocks, one big block and one small block. The small block is used to encrypt the big one as the private key,and then the encrypted big block will be uploaded to the cloud storage system.Even if the uploaded big block of file is stolen, illegal users cannot get the complete information of the file easily.Ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(CPABE)is always criticized for its heavy overload and insecure issues when distributing keys or revoking user's access right.MPRE-CPABE applies CPABE to the multi-authority cloud storage system, and solves the above issues. The weighted access structure(WAS) is proposed to support a variety of fine-grained threshold access control policy in multi-authority environments, and reduce the computational cost of key distribution.Meanwhile,MPRE-CPABE uses proxy re-encryption to reduce the computational cost of access revocation.Experiments are implemented on platforms of Ubuntu and CloudSim.Experimental results show that MPRE-CPABE can greatly reduce the computational cost of the generation of key components and the revocation of user's access right.MPRE-CPABE is also proved secure under the security model of decisional bilinear Diffie-Hellman(DBDH). 展开更多

An overview of basic research on climate change in recent years in China is presented. In the past 100 years in China, average annual mean surface air temperature (SAT) has increased at a rate ranging from 0.03℃ (10 yr)-1 to 0.12℃ (10 yr)-1. This warming is more evident in northern China and is more significant in winter and spring. In the past 50 years in China, at least 27% of the average annual warming has been caused by urbanization. Overall, no significant trends have been detected in annual and/or summer precipitation in China on a whole for the past 100 years or 50 years. Both increases and decreases in frequencies of major extreme climate events have been observed for the past 50 years. The frequencies of extreme temperature events have generally displayed a consistent pattern of change across the country, while the frequencies of extreme precipitation events have shown only regionally and seasonally significant trends. The frequency of tropical cyclone landfall decreased slightly, but the frequency of sand/dust storms decreased significantly. Proxy records indicate that the annual mean SAT in the past a few decades is the highest in the past 400-500 years in China, but it may not have exceeded the highest level of the Medieval Warm Period (1000 1300 AD). Proxy records also indicate that droughts and floods in eastern China have been characterized by continuously abnormal rainfall periods, with the frequencies of extreme droughts and floods in the 20th century most likely being near the average levels of the past 2000 years. The attribution studies suggest that increasing greenhouse gas (GHG) concentrations in the atmosphere are likely to be a main factor for the observed surface warming nationwide. The Yangtze River and Huaihe River basins underwent a cooling trend in summer over the past 50 years, which might have been caused by increased aerosol concentrations and cloud cover. However, natural climate variability might have been a main driver for the mean and extreme precipitation variations observed over the past century. Climate models generally perform well in simulating the variations of annual mean SAT in China. They have also been used to project future changes in SAT under varied GHG emission scenarios. Large uncertainties have remained in these model-based projections, however, especially for the projected trends of regional precipitation and extreme climate events. 展开更多

We review here proxy records of temperature and precipitation in China during the Holocene, especially the last two millennia. The quality of proxy data, methodology of reconstruction, and uncertainties in reconstruction were emphasized in comparing different temperature and precipitation reconstruction and clarifying temporal and spatial patterns of temperature and precipitation during the Holocene. The Holocene climate was generally warm and wet. The warmest period occurred in 9.6-6.2 cal ka BP, whereas a period of maximum monsoon precipitation started at about 11.0 cal ka BP and lasted until about 8.0-5.0 cal ka BP. There were a series of millennial-scale cold or dry events superimposed on the general trend of climate changes. During past two millennia, a warming trend in the 20th century was clearly detected, but the warming magnitude was smaller than the maximum level of the Medieval Warm Period and the Middle Holocene. Cold conditions occurred over the whole of China during the Little Ice Age (AD 1400-AD 1900), but the warming of the Medieval Warm Period (AD 900-AD 1300) was not distinct in China, especially west China. The spatial pattern of precipitation showed significant regional differences in China, especially east China. The modern warm period has lasted 20 years from 1987 to 2006. Bi-decadal oscillation in precipitation variability was apparent over China during the 20th century. Solar activity and volcanic eruptions both were major forcings governing the climate variability during the last millennium. 展开更多

Users store vast amounts of sensitive data on a big data platform. Sharing sensitive data will help enterprises reduce the cost of providing users with personalized services and provide value-added data services. However, secure data sharing is problematic. This paper proposes a framework for secure sensitive data sharing on a big data platform, including secure data delivery, storage, usage, and destruction on a semi-trusted big data sharing platform. We present a proxy re-encryption algorithm based on heterogeneous ciphertext transformation and a user process protection method based on a virtual machine monitor, which provides support for the realization of system functions. The framework protects the security of users' sensitive data effectively and shares these data safely. At the same time, data owners retain complete control of their own data in a sound environment for modern Internet information security. 展开更多
