The reflection of ocean surface is often assumed azimuthally symmetric in the previous vector discrete ordinate radiative transfer(VDISORT)and many other radiative transfer solvers.This assumption can lead to obvious ...The reflection of ocean surface is often assumed azimuthally symmetric in the previous vector discrete ordinate radiative transfer(VDISORT)and many other radiative transfer solvers.This assumption can lead to obvious errors in the simulated radiances.In this study,the vector radiative transfer equation is solved with a polarized bidirectional reflection distribution function(pBRDF)for computing the surface-leaving radiation from the lower boundary.An azimuthally asymmetric pBRDF model at visible and infrared bands over oceans is fully coupled with the updated VDISORT model.The radiance at the ocean surface is combined with the contributions of atmospheric scattering and surface properties.It is shown that the radiance at the ocean surface also exhibits a strong angular dependence in the Stokes vector and the magnitudes of I.Q.and V increase for a larger azimuthal dependence of pBRDF.In addition,the solar position affects the peaks of sun glitter pattern,thus modulating the signal magnitudes and the angular distributions.As ocean wind increases,the reflection weakens with reduced magnitudes of Stokes parameters and lessvarying angular distributions.展开更多

Based on the reflection symmetry properties, cubic, tetragonal, orthorhombic, rhombohedral (trigonal) and hexagonal crystal systems are shown to have three-dimensional (3D) k-spaces for the conduction electrons (“electrons”, “holes”). The basic stability condition for a general crystal is the availability of parallel material planes. The monoclinic crystal has a 1D k-space. The triclinic has no k-vectors for electrons, whence it is a true insulator. The monoclinic (triclinic) crystal has one (three) disjoint sets of 1D phonons, which stabilizes the lattice. Phonons’ motion is highly directional;no spherical phonon distributions are generated for monoclinic and triclinic crystal systems.展开更多
Marine oil spills have caused major threats to marine environment over the past few years.The early detection of the oil spill is of great significance for the prevention and control of marine disasters.At present,rem...Marine oil spills have caused major threats to marine environment over the past few years.The early detection of the oil spill is of great significance for the prevention and control of marine disasters.At present,remote sensing is one of the major approaches for monitoring the oil spill.Full polarization synthetic aperture radarc SAR data are employed to extract polarization decomposition parameters including entropy(H) and reflection entropy(A).The characteristic spectrum of the entropy and reflection entropy combination has analyzed and the polarization characteristic spectrum of the oil spill has developed to support remote sensing of the oil spill.The findings show that the information extracted from(1-A)×(1-H) and(1-H)×A parameters is relatively evident effects.The results of extraction of the oil spill information based on H×A parameter are relatively not good.The combination of the two has something to do with H and A values.In general,when H〉0.7,A value is relatively small.Here,the extraction of the oil spill information using(1-A)×(1-H) and(1-H)×A parameters obtains evident effects.Whichever combined parameter is adopted,oil well data would cause certain false alarm to the extraction of the oil spill information.In particular the false alarm of the extracted oil spill information based on(1-A)×(1-H) is relatively high,while the false alarm based on(1-A)×H and(1-H)×A parameters is relatively small,but an image noise is relatively big.The oil spill detection employing polarization characteristic spectrum support vector machine can effectively identify the oil spill information with more accuracy than that of the detection method based on single polarization feature.展开更多

The boundary problem was solved using a Fourier series d...The radiative transfer model (RT3), a vector radiative transfer (VRT) scheme in a plane-parallel atmosphere, was bounded by a rough ocean surface in this study. The boundary problem was solved using a Fourier series decomposition of the radiation field as a function of the azimuth. For the case of a rough ocean surface, the decomposition was obtained by developing both the Fresnel reflection matrix and the probability distribution of the water facet orientation as Fourier series. The effect of shadowing by ocean surface waves was also considered in the boundary condition. The VRT model can compute the intensity and degree of polarization of the light at the top of the atmosphere (TOA), the ocean surface, and any level of the atmosphere in the ocean-atmosphere system. The results obtained by our model are in good agreement with those computed by Ahmad’s model. The simulated results showed that the shadow effects of wave facets on the intensity and the degree of polarization are negligible except at the ocean surface near the grazing angle, possibly because we did not consider the effect of white caps.展开更多
