This paper takes the world heritage-Huangshan Mountain as a sample. From the two different aspects of pull and push factors, the underlying features of visitors′ motives to Huangshan Mountain are analyzed with the help of factor analysis. As a result, five push factors and four pull factors are identified. Further analyses investigate differences in the push and pull factors among different socio-demographic subgroups with one-way ANOVA analysis. The result of the study affords us useful references for development, protection and marketing expansion of mountain resorts. 展开更多

Focusing on the fast growth of BRICS' outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) and multinational companies during the crisis has left unheeded that some other emerging economies also grow much faster than average in the global economy and has become significant and fast-growing direct investors abroad. A sample of such (thirteen) new-wave emerging countries (NWECs) is gathered on the criterion of being ranked among the most significant foreign direct investors in the global economy. The literature review exhibits only very few articles existing on such a topic so far. Descriptive statistics enable tracing OFDI by NWECs-based multinational companies back to the 1970s, checking its geographical orientation and industrial structure, and assessing the relative importance of cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Econometric estimation exhibits that direct investment moving off the NWECs is explained by so-called push factors such as the home country's GDP, GDP per capita, GDP rate of growth, the share of high-technology exported products in overall export, the number of technological patents registered, and how much inward foreign direct investment discussed in the light of Dunning's investment development hypothesis. stock has previously been hosted. These results are path model and Matthews' linkage-leverage learning 展开更多

The paper focuses on China's onshore bond market and the drivers of non-resident net portfolio flows into Chinese debt securities.Following a review of China's bond market,a simple theoretical model of push and pull factors driving bond fiows is built. It represents a foundation for the empirical analysis on drivers of bond flows into China.Static and time-varying models are estimated to explain the importance of push and pull factors in China's bond market. While China-specific pull factors, such as domestic economic growth and asset returns, are important drivers of flows, the results reveal that global push factors, such as US interest rates and risk aversion, have recently gained significance as drivers of flows into China. The results confirm China's continued bond market deepening and integration with the rest of the world, which may have financial stability implications. Therefore, increased awareness regarding bond market developments in China is warranted. 展开更多

By using China Yearbook of Household Survey and CHIPS’we measure, decompose, and test the pushing factors of rural anti-poverty’s performance. We find that the rural poverty rate fell, which benefited from the endogenous reform of land policy from 1978 to 1985,and from 1986 to 1993,China’s rural poverty rate was still falling rapidly, when economic growth played a leading role, but the marginal revenue was falling.Although rural areas had implemented development-oriented poverty relief and social relief during the period from 1994 to 2000,the poverty rate decline was not large, because negative effects from redistribution offset the contribution from economic growth.China’s rural poverty rate was rising slightly from 2001 to 2014,because the positive contribution from economic growth was falling and the effects from income distribution originated from poverty reduction aiming mechanism were low, which led to a falling composite contribution rate.Throughout the 30 years’strategy and path of anti-poverty,we find that economic growth has been playing the dominant role, and as the poverty rate and poverty gap rebound, the contribution from income distribution and redistribution in reducing poverty will rise. The government should increase investment in rural public products and public services to optimize the path and strategy of rural anti-poverty. 展开更多
