China:In the fourth quarter of 2023,exports of yarn and fabric to ASEAN ceased declining and rebounded

On January 8th,the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Textiles released data showing that in the fourth quarter,China’s textile and clothing exports gradually stabilised.The proportion of intermediate exports in textile and clothing exports continued to rise,providing a new impetus for the substantial expansion of exports to traditional markets and international supply chain cooperation.

Development Of Shape Memory Alloy Based Quarter Car Suspension System

It is well-known that suspension systems plays a major role in automotive technology.Most of the today’s vehicle applies a passive suspension systems consisting of a spring and damper.The design of automotive suspension have been a compromise between passenger comfort,suspension travel and road holding ability.This work aims in reducing the suspension travel alone by developing a quarter car model suspension for a passenger car to improve its performance by introducing shape memory alloy spring(Nitinol)instead of traditional spring.A two way shape memory alloy spring possesses two different stiffness in its two different phases(martensite and austenite).In this study,road profile is considered as a simple harmonic profile and vibration analysis of aminiature quarter car model suspension system has been carried out experimentally.Using theoretical method,the displacement of the sprung mass is also studied and discussed.The vibration analysis have been carried out for the suspension system at both phases of the spring and the results gives a significant improvement in reducing the displacement of sprung mass for various excitation frequencies.

Increasing Bicycle Exports China’s bicycle exports expanded in the first quarter of this year,continuing the recovery momentum since the second half of 2023,according to an industry association.In the first quarter,the country’s bicycle exports reached nearly 11 million units,an increase of 13.7 percent compared to the fourth quarter of last year,according to data from the China Bicycle Association.In breakdown,China exported about 2.3 million bicycles to the US during the period,surging 47.2 percent year on year.The country’s exports to Russia climbed 52.1 percent year on year to 930,000 units.The value of bicycle parts and accessories from China reached$746 million,up 10.8 percent from the same period in 2019.

Experimental Researches on Reflective and Transmitting Performances of Quarter Circular Breakwater Under Regular and Irregular Waves

A series of regular and irregular wave experiments are conducted to study the reflective and transmitting performances of quarter circular breakwater （QCB） in comparison with those of semi-circular breakwater （SCB）. Based on regular wave tests, the reflection and transmission characteristics of QCB are analyzed and a few influencing factors are investigated. Then, the wave energy dissipation as wave passing over the breakwater is discussed based on the hydraulic coefficients of QCB and SCB. In irregular wave experiments, the reflection coefficients of QCB and their spectrums are studied. Finally, the comparisons between the experimental results and numerical simulations for QCB under regular and irregular wave conditions are presented.

Numerical Simulation on Hydraulic Performances of Quarter Circular Breakwater

Quarter circular breakwater （QCB） is a new-type breakwater developed from senti-circular breakwater （SCB）. The superstructure of QCB is composed of a quarter circular front wall, a horizontal base slab and a vertical rear wall. The width of QCB＇ s base slab is about half that of SCB, which makes QCB suitable to be used on relatively finn soil foundation. The numerical wave flume based on the Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes equations for impressible viscosity fluid is adopted in this paper to simulate the hydraulic performances of QCB. Since the geometry of both breakwaters is similar and SCB has been studied in depth, the hydraulic performances of QCB are given in comparison with those of SCB.
