A complete expression for the S/N ratio of a 4-channel A/D non-uniform sampling signal was deduced. First we obtained an expression for the S/N ratio of a 1-channel A/D uniform sampling signal when the sampling frequency was equal to or greater than 2 times the frequency of the sampled signal. Based on the S/N ratio of a 2-channel A/D,alternating,non-uniform sampling signal,we analyzed the distribution of quantitative error using the quantitative error probability density method and the distribution convolution formula. From this the S/N ratio expression of a 4-channel A/D sampling signal was deduced. The simulation result shows that the deduced expression is correct.展开更多

This paper deals with the feature reduction methods for a time-shift invariant feature, power spectrum, in Radar Automatic Target Recognition (RATR) using High-Resolution Range Profiles (HRRPs). Several existing feature reduction methods in pattern recognition are analyzed, and a weighted feature reduction method based on Fisher's Discriminant Ratio (FDR) is proposed in this paper. According to the characteristics of radar HRRP target recognition, this proposed method searches the optimal weight vector for power spectra of HRRPs by means of an iterative algorithm, and thus reduces feature dimensionality. Compared with the method of using raw power spectra and some existing feature reduction methods, the weighted feature reduction method can not only reduce feature dimensionality, but also improve recognition performance with low computation complexity. In the recognition experiments based on measured data, the proposed method is robust to different test data and achieves good recognition results.展开更多

Bit and confidence declaration is an vital step before error detection and error correction. Based on the commonly used baseline multi-sample algorithm, different conditions are presented and analyzed, the conditions under which error happens are pointed out,and the algorithm in which two statistical variables are added to avoid false declaration. To investigate the weather clutter amplitude statistics, we introduce the Akaike Information Criterion (AIC). We have found that the weather clutter amplitudes obey the log-normal, Weibull, and log-Weibull distributions with the shape parameters of 0.308 to 0.470, 4.42 to 4.51, and 15.91 to 16.44, respectively, for small data within the beam width of an antenna. We have proposed the log-normal/CFAR circuit modified a Cell-Averaging (CA) LOG/CFAR circuit. It is found that weather clutter is suppressed with improvement of 51.58 dB by log-normal/CFAR. As a result, we have showed that weather clutter observed by S-band radar does not obey the Rayleigh distribution and our log-normal/CFAR circuit has an effect on suppression of clutter and detection of target, while conventional LOG/CFAR circuit does not. In addition, if our circuit can be realized, we will have an advantage economically.展开更多

However, in practical applications, the information obtained by a single device is limited, and it is necessary to integrate the information of maritime radar and AIS messages to achieve better recognition effects. In this study, the D-S evidence theory is used to fusion the two kinds of heterogeneous information: maritime radar images and AIS messages. Firstly, the radar image and AIS message are processed to get the targets of interest in the same coordinate system. Then, the coordinate position and heading of targets are chosen as the indicators for judging target similarity. Finally, a piece of D-S evidence theory based on the information fusion method is proposed to match the radar target and the AIS target of the same ship. Particularly, the effectiveness of the proposed method has been validated and evaluated through several experiments, which proves that such a method is practical in maritime safety supervision.展开更多
