Knitting and Finishing of Ramie Knitted Fabrics Blended with Fine Polyester

Ramie fibre is harsh and rigid. Ramie yarns have a hairy feel and reduced cohesion. A considerable amount of research has been done to ease the undesirable properties of ramie products through modifying conditions of knitting and finishing according to the special properties of the ramie yarn. From the comparison results, burning the hairiness is shown as one of the effective methods to improve the properties of the yarn. A typical finishing condition with enzyme treatment is also recommended.
