Preparation of Nanocrystalline Rare Earth Mixed Oxides DyFe_x Co_(1- x)O_(3-δ) and Its Conductivity

Nanocrystalline rare earth mixed oxides DyFe x Co 1- x O 3- δ were prepared by sol gel method and characterized by X ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TG DTA) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that DyFe x Co 1- x O 3- δ has the structure of perovskite type at 800 ℃ for 2 h calcination. The conductivity of the materials at different temperature was measured by four probe instrumentation and two pole method. The results show that the conductivity of mixed oxides DyFe x Co 1- x O 3- δ is higher than those of un mixed oxides DyFeO 3 and DyCoO 3 and the conductivity is the best at x =0.8 in the matter of DyFe x Co 1- x O 3- δ . The conductivity of these materials always increases with the temperature rising and there is an apparent change between 600 and 800 ℃. However, the spinodals are different with different ration of Fe 3+ and Co 3+ . This kind of oxide is a conductive pottery material. 展开更多

A series of europium-doped titanium dioxide (TiO 2) fluorescent nano-material s prepared by sol-gel method is presented. The phase structure and crystalline sizes of TiO 2∶Eu, which is doped with different europium content and then he at-treated at different temperature, were investigated by XRD,TG,DTA and TEM. The results show that europium could be introduced into TiO 2 under high temper ature and it can suppress the structural phase transition from anatase to rutile and the crystal growth of TiO 2 in TiO 2∶Eu nano-materials. The fluorescenc e spectra were examined by fluorescence spectrophotometer, and the results show that the fluorescence intensity is the strongest when europium content is 2.68%( mole fraction) and the heat-treated temperature is 700 ℃. From the measurement results of the fluorescence lifetimes, it can be seen that the fluorescence lifetime c ould be prolonged when europium is incorporated in TiO 2. 展开更多

The corrosion behavior of BFe10-1-1 alloy with different rare earth (RE) contents in simulated flowing marine water was investigated by X-ray diffractometer and scanning electron microscope (SEM). It was demonstrated that the corrosion rate of BFel0-1-1 alloy with the same chemical compositions in faster flow velocity of marine water was higher than that in a lower flow velocity of marine water. Fixing the flow velocity, BFe 10-1-1 alloy had the best flushing corrosion resistance when the RE content was 0.04wt.%. The consequence of such good corrosion resistance was attributed to the formation of compact protective film on alloy surface containing RE phase such as CeNis. The RE-contained film combines with other corrosion products firmly, which was difficult to fall off from the alloy surface in the flowing marine water. Additionally, SEM analysis confirmed that pitting mechanism, which would be transformed to spalling mechanism gradually with further increasing RE content, was the prevalent mechanism when the alloy contained 0.04wt.%RE. 展开更多

Eight rare earth metal ( Ⅲ ) complexes with 2- ( ((4,6-dimethyl)-2-pyrimidinyl) thio)-acetic acid, LnL3· n H2O [HL = 2-(((4,6-dimethyl)-2-pyrimidinyl)thio)-acetic acid; Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm Eu, Gd, Tb; n = 4 or 5], were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, complexometric titration, thermal analysis, conductivity, IR and ^1H- NMR. The results reveal that carboxyl group of the hgand coordinates with rare earth ions in bidentate mode after deprotonated. The water molecules exist as crystal water in the complexes. The anti-tumour activities of HL and some complexes were tested by both the MTT and SRB methods. The results show that the suppression ratios of some complexes against the tested tumour cells (HL-60 human leukemia cell lines, BGC-823 human gastric carcinoma cell lines, hela human cervix adenocarcinoma cell lines and Bel-7402 human hepatic carcinoma cell lines) are superior to HL. 展开更多

The shear stress of the suspension of Y4O (OH)9 (NO3) ( NH4NO3 )2.8 material in dimethyl silicone oil reaches 1469 Pa at an electric field strength (E) of 4.2 kV·mm^-1 and the shear rate (7) of 150 s^-1 The relative shear stress, τ E/τ0( τE and τ0 are the shear stresses at E = 4.2 and 0 kV·mm^-1 respectively), is up to 29, which is 19 times that of pure Y2O3 material. The dielectric and conductive property of the materials play important roles in the modification of the ER effect of the particle materials. The researches on these new ER materials are very useful for obtaining a better understanding on the mechanism of the ER effect and finding an ideal ER material. 展开更多

The precursors of La0.7Sr0.3-xCaxCo0.9Fe0.1O3-δ(LSCCF, x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) as the cathode materials for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (ITSOFC) were prepared by reverse titration co-precipitatio... The precursors of La0.7Sr0.3-xCaxCo0.9Fe0.1O3-δ(LSCCF, x=0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) as the cathode materials for intermediate temperature solid oxide fuel cell (ITSOFC) were prepared by reverse titration co-precipitation method with metal-nitrates as starting materials and mixed alkali (NaOH and Na2CO3) as a precipitating agent. The formation process of LSCCF from the precursors was monitored by TG-DSC, and the crystal structure and particles morphology of the precursors which were calcined at 600, 800, 1000 ℃ for 3 h were characterized using XRD, SEM technologies. Compared with the solid state reaction of constituent oxides, when the pH value of the precipitating solution was in the range of 9.1~9.5, the LSCCF powders from the precursors caclined at 800 ℃ for 3 h had high purity, homogeneous and single perovskite phase. The electrical conductivity of the LSCCF samples sintered at 1200 ℃ for 3 h, which was measured as a function of temperatures from 100 to 800 ℃ by DC four-probe method in air, decreased with x from 0.05 to 0.20. The value of electrical conductivity was almost equal because of Ca2+, Sr2+ co-dopant resulting in the 'mix effect' while x=0.10 or 0.15. The electrical conductivity of all doped samples was higher than 100 S·cm-1 at intermediate temperatures from 500 to 800 ℃, and there was good compatibility between the LSCCF cathode and Ce0.8Sm0.2O2 electrolyte. 展开更多

The XRD measurement shows that the solid solution is crystallized in cubic fluorite-type structure and the cell volume of Ce_(0.9)RE_(0.1)O_(2-δ) decreases with the increase of atomic number of RE. The ionic conduction for Ce_(0.9)RE_(0.1)O_(2-δ) was measured by impedance spectroscopy and Ce_(0.9)Pr_(0.1)O_(2-δ) has better conductivity. The linear thermal expansion of Ce_(0.9)RE_(0.1)O_(2-δ) decreases with the increase of atomic number of RE. 展开更多

This paper summarizes the new developments in the study of barium rare-earth fluor-carbonate mineral structures .The second order superstructure of cebaite -(Ce ) was solved by using high power X-ray single crystal diffractometer . Five kinds of coordination forms were found . All atoms in the cell , including C and F , were properly located . In the process of study in a cordylite-(Ce ), a new mineral was discovered , whose chemical formula is (Ca0.5□0.5) BaCe2 (CO3)4F . It is isostructural with baiyuneboite - (Ce ), but different in composition (Na in baiyuneboite- (Ce ) is substituted by Ca disorderly ) . On the basis of the studies a proposal to re-define cordylite-(Ce )as a mineral group name is put forth by the authors . Finally a new type of twinning of huanghoite-(Ce ) was found on the systematical absence of diffraction data by means of a single crystal diffractometer . 展开更多

Particle size and shape of LaF3 nanocrystalline powder was analysed with TEM. Particles were mainly spherical with narrow particle size distribution (10 20 nm). The average particle size analysed with XRD is 16.7 nm. Nano-LaF3 bulk material was prepared by compacting the powder to 1 GPa at room temperature and a vacuum of 10^-4 Pa. The ionic conductivity of nano-LaF3 bulk material was studied with complex impedance spectra at room temperature. The ionic conductivity of nano-LaF3 bulk material (1 × 10^-5 S·cm^-1 ) at room temperature is significantly increased compared to that of single crystal LaF3 (1 × 10^-6 S·cm^-1). A special phenomenon was observed firstly time that the ionic conductivity increased gradually with multiple testing in result of relaxation. 展开更多

Nanosized BaCe_(0.95)Y_(0.05)O_(3-δ) powders with the homogeneous composition were synthesized by a new combustion process based on the Pechini method. A polymeric precursor sol was formed by use of citric acid and ethylene glycol as the chelating agents of metal ions. The perovskite-type BaCe_(0.95)Y_(0.05)O_(3-δ) powders with uniform shape and smaller than 40 nm in sized were obtained through the combustion of the polymeric precursor sol at the existence of nitric acid and ammonium hydroxide. It was found the particle size could be controlled by modulating the quantities of nitric acid and ammonium hydroxide, the quantities of the residue, carbonate ions were also affected by the quantities of the citric acid and ethylene glycol. 展开更多

The cathode material Pr0.7Sr0.3Co1-yCuyO3-δ (y=0.05~0.3) was synthesized by a sol-gel method. X-ray diffraction indicated that the samples with y≤0.2 were single phase orthorhombic perovskite structure, but in the case of y=0.3, traces of a second phase were observed. The unit cell volumes increased with increasing copper content. The electrical conductivity decreased gradually with increasing Cu addition. The investigation of the electrochemical performance suggested that the sample with y=0.1 exhibited the lowest overpotential in all prepared Pr0.7Sr0.3Co1-yCuyO3-δ. With Pr0.7Sr0.3Co0.9Cu0.1O3-δ cathode and porous NiO/Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9 anode, the single cell based on SDC thin film electrolyte was obtained by a simple dry pressing process. Maximum power densities of the cell were 406 and 481 mW·cm-2 at 700 and 750 ℃, respectively. 展开更多
