Corrosion resistant properties of Si3N4-SiC and TiB2 at high temperature were studied. The experiments were carried out in metallic neodymium and NdF3-LiF-Nd2O3 system, respectively. Corrosion temperature was 1100 ℃ ... Corrosion resistant properties of Si3N4-SiC and TiB2 at high temperature were studied. The experiments were carried out in metallic neodymium and NdF3-LiF-Nd2O3 system, respectively. Corrosion temperature was 1100 ℃ and the holding time of corrosion experiments was 24 h. Corrosion products were analyzed by XRD and SEM, and corrosion behavior and corrosion mechanism of the experiments were studied. The results showed that Si3N4-SiC was corroded seriously in the above-mentioned two systems. A few of compounds were found on the surface of Si3N4-SiC, and surface structure of the Si3N4-SiC samples was loosened. The corrosion resistance of TiB2 was better than that of Si3N4-SiC. Oxidation resistance of TiB2 at high temperature should be enhanced. 展开更多

The Nd:YAG precursor powders with persed , slightly agglomerated, super fine and YAG cubic crystal phase were synthesized at 1100 ℃ by the homogeneous precipitation method, using Nd2O3, Y2O3, Al(NO3)3·9H2O and urea as raw materials, (NH4)2SO4 as electrical stabilizer, TEOS as sintering additive. The Nd:YAG transparent ceramics were prepared after being vacuum sintered at 1700 ℃ for 5 h. The Nd:YAG ceramic materials were characterized by the TG-DTA, XRD, FT-IR, TEM, FEG-ESEM and FT-PL. The results show that the crystallization temperature of YAG is 850 ℃ and the intermediate crystal phase YAP forming during the heat treatment transforms to YAG cubic crystal phase at 1050 ℃. The lasing wavelength of (Nd0.01 Y0.99)3Al5O12 transparent ceramics is 1.065 μm and there exists a slight red-shift compared to the single crystal with the same chemical composition. The optical transmittance is 45 % in the visible light and 58 % in the near infrared light and the optical transmittance descends with the decreasing the wavelength. 展开更多

With the applications of Nd-Fe-B material extending in recent years, the materials of neodymium metal and other rare earth metal alloy confront the increased demand and the high quality request at the same time.These factors stimulated greatly to perfect the producing craft of RE metals and improve the equipments.The rare earth electrolysis cell is developing towards large-scale way.Notwithstanding the present electrolysis cell of Nd metal, include 6 kA and 10 kA cell, exists some insurmountable problems during operation and these problems lead to lower electric efficiency and higher operating costs.So it is significant to study the physical fields of rare earth electrolysis cell.In this paper,a numerical flow mode is established using vortex- flowing function method and the fluid flow field of 3000A Nd electrolysis cell is computed using MATLAB.The results of the study will be important reference in theory for improving and enlarging rare earth fluoride system cell. 展开更多

Synthesis, Characterization of A Novel Polymeric Reaction Monomer for Preparing Highly Fluorescent Rare Earth Polymer Materials

A novel polymeric reaction monomer (NPRM) for preparing highly fluorescent rare earth polymer materials was synthesized via interface and coordinating reaction. The composition and structure of the NPRM and intermediate product (ligand) were characterized through the Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), carbon-nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum (13CNMR), Mass spectra (MS), and element analysis data. The results showed that the composition and structure of NPRM agreed with that of anticipated product. The NPRM was composed of two important sections. Section 1 was able to provide excellent fluorescent properties for final rare earth polymer material through the effect energy transfer between ligand and rare earth ion; Section 2 would endow with the NPRM excellent polymeric active and form highly fluorescent rare earth polymer material. Fluorescent properties of the NPRM were also researched via a CARY ECLIPSE fluorescent spectrometer. The results showed that the NPRM possessed excellent luminescent properties. The corresponding emission peaks based on the 5D0→7F1(601.6 nm), 5D0→7F2(625.0 nm), 5D0→7F3(660.5 nm) and 5D0→7F4(706.3 nm) transitions for Eu3+ were observed. The strongest emission peak was at 625 nm, which belonged to 5D0→7F2 transition. 展开更多

The system reacted at 85 ℃ with stirring for 1 h to ... The oxides Eu, Ho, Er and Dy were used to prepare the hydroxides of rare earth modified carbon black. Then natural rubber latex (NRL) was added into the reactor. The system reacted at 85 ℃ with stirring for 1 h to prepare powdered HAF-Ln(OH)3/NR composites. The effects of the kind and content of Ln on the particle size distribution of P [ NR/HAF-Ln (OH)3 ] and mechanical properties of its vulcanizate were studied respectively. It is found that rare earth can help to get the powder of the composite, the product particle with a diameter less than 0.9mm will be get when the composites containing the compound of Ho, Er and Dy with dosage of 1.0, 1.0, O. 5 percent, respectively. The adding of Ln can improve the tensile strength and tear strength of the vulcanizate effectively, what's more, Er and Dy can decrease the permanent set of vulcanizate significantly. The SEM studies shows that P[ NR/HAF-Dy (OH)3 ] vulcanizate shows superior mechanical properties that depend primarily on the absence of free carbon black, the fine dispersion of carbon black in the rubber matrix and better polymer-filler interaction. 展开更多
