Corrosion behavior of the film was studied by polarization curves and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results showed that the coating remained passivity at the potential range from the open circuit potential (-780 mV) to -250 mV in NaCl solution. When the potential exceeded -200 mV, corrosion reaction happened on the coating, the results of EIS analysis was consistent with the results of polarization curves.展开更多

The results show thatRE solution can form cerium oxide/hydroxides precipitation in the pores of the anodized coating at the beginning ofsealing. At the same time, the spherical deposits formed on the surface of the anodized coating created a barrierto the precipitation of RE solution in the pores. When the pore-structured anodizing film is covered all with thespherical deposits, RE conversion coating will form on the surface of the anodized coating. The reaction of thecoating formation was investigated by employing cyclic voltammetry. The results indicate that accelerator H2O2 actsas the source of O2 by carrying chemical reaction in course of coating formation. In the mean time, it maybe carrieselectrochemical reaction to generate alkaline condition to accelerate the coating formation. The porous structure ofthe film is beneficial to the precipitation of the cerium hydroxides film.展开更多

Corrosion resistance of the treated surface was evaluated with polarization curves. The results showed that the effect of the protection using rare earth sealing is equivalent to that using chromate sealing for Al6061/SiCp. The rare earth metal salt can be an alternative to the toxic chromate for sealing anodized Al MMC.展开更多

The discharge capacity of the hydrogen-storing alloys are not only influenced by its thermodynamic property but also closely related to its dynamic property. When the temperature changes, the degrees of influence of the above-mentioned two factors on the discharge performance vary accordingly. As a consequence, adjusting compositions of the alloys to make them have good discharge performance under a relatively wide range of temperature is of great significance. On the basis of great deal of experimental investigation, the optimum combination of rare earth elements in hydrogen-storing electrode materials using at-30-55℃ is determined and the relationships between the cell parameters and discharge performance of alloys at -30℃ are discussed. Additionally, the DFEC calculation method has been improved to predict the discharge capacities, which is in good agreement with the experimental ones. This is of theoretical significance in investigating new hydrogen-storing alloys of the AB5 type.展开更多

TECs of the basic glass, which were heat-treated under different temperature, were also investigated. The result showed that TECs of the basic glass gradually approached a fixed value as the anneal time was extended, which suggested that most of the inner stress had been eliminated. After heat treatment, the contents of Dy2O3, Dy2Si2O7, and a new crystal increased up to 1200 ℃ and decreased below 1250 ℃, which was consistent with the TEC change of crystallized samples. This suggests that the crystal has a direct effect on TECs of the crystallized samples.展开更多
