The problems associated with vibrations of viaducts and low-frequency structural noise radiation caused by train excitation continue to increase in importance.A new floating-slab track vibration isolator-non-obstructive particle damping-phononic crystal vibration isolator is proposed herein,which uses the particle damping vibration absorption technology and bandgap vibration control theory.The vibration reduction performance of the NOPD-PCVI was analyzed from the perspective of vibration control.The paper explores the structure-borne noise reduction performance of the NOPD-PCVIs installed on different bridge structures under varying service conditions encountered in practical engineering applications.The load transferred to the bridge is obtained from a coupled train-FST-bridge analytical model considering the different structural parameters of bridges.The vibration responses are obtained using the finite element method,while the structural noise radiation is simulated using the frequency-domain boundary element method.Using the particle swarm optimization algorithm,the parameters of the NOPD-PCVI are optimized so that its frequency bandgap matches the dominant bridge structural noise frequency range.The noise reduction performance of the NOPD-PCVIs is compared to the steel-spring isolation under different service conditions. 展开更多

High pressure die casting(HPDC)AlSi10Mn Mg alloy castings are widely used in the automobile industry.Mg can optimize the mechanical properties of castings through heat treatment,while the release of thermal stress arouses the deformation of large integrated die-castings.Herein,the development of non-heat treatment Al alloys is becoming the hot topic.In addition,HPDC contains externally solidified crystals(ESCs),which are detrimental to the mechanical properties of castings.To achieve high strength and toughness of non-heat treatment die-casting Al-Si alloy,we used AlSi9Mn alloy as matrix with the introduction of Zr,Ti,Nb,and Ce.Their influences on ESCs and mechanical properties were systematically investigated through three-dimensional reconstruction and thermodynamic simulation.Our results reveal that the addition of Ti increased ESCs'size and porosity,while the introduction of Nb refined ESCs and decreased porosity.Meanwhile,large-sized Al_3(Zr,Ti)phases formed and degraded the mechanical properties.Subsequent introduction of Ce resulted in the poisoning effect and reduced mechanical properties. 展开更多

Tensile properties of a Re-containing single crystal superalloy were determined within the temperature range from 20 to 1 100 ℃with a constant strain rate of 1.67 ×10^-4 s^-1.From room temperature to 600 ℃,the yield strength increases slightly with increasing temperature.The yield strength decreases to aminimum at 760 ℃,while a maximum is reached dramatically at 800 ℃.The elongation and area reduction decrease gradually from room temperature to 800 ℃.Above 800 ℃,the yield strength decreases significantly with increasing temperature.The γ' phase is sheared by antiphase boundary (APB) below 600 ℃while elongated SSF (superlattice stacking fault) is left in γ' as debris.At 760 ℃the γ' phase is sheared by a/3 112 superpartial dislocation,which causes decrease of yield strength due to low energy of SSF.Above 800 ℃dislocations overcome γ' through by-passing mechanism. 展开更多

Well known for their good performance,thin film transistors (TFTs) with active layers which were nickel induced laterally crystallized,are fabricated by conventional process of dual gate CMOS.The influence of pre high temperature treatment of device fabrication on the performance of TFTs is also investigated.The experiment shows that the high temperature treatment affects the performance of the devices strongly.The best performance is obtained by adopting pre treatment of 1000℃.The mobility of 314cm 2/(V·s) is obtained at NMOS TFTs with pre treatment of 1000℃,which is 10% and 22% higher than that treated at 1100℃ and without pre high temperature treatment,respectively.A maximum on/off current ratio of 3×10 8 is also obtained at 1000℃.Further investigation of uniformity verifies that the result is reliable. 展开更多

Based on a 5% (mass fraction) Re-containing single crystal nickel-based superalloy with 3% (mass fraction) Cr, the microstructural variation with Cr addition was investigated. The experimental results show that segregation of alloying elements was enhanced in as-cast microstructure with Cr addition; and the volume fraction of eutectic is increased. However, the solidus and liquidus temperatures are remarkably reduced. With the increase of Cr content, the average γ' size and volume fraction are decreased in the fully heat treated microstructure. X-ray diffraction results indicate that γ/γ' lattice misfit becomes more negative. According to the energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) results, Cr is mainly distributed in the γ matrix; and more y-forming elements, such as Re and W, enter the γ matrix, while the γ/γ' partition ratio of Cr is inversely decreased. 展开更多

The tunable terahertz(THz) filter has been designed and studied, which is composed of 1D photonic crystal(PC) containing a defect layer of semiconductor Ga As. The analytical solution of 1D defective PC(1DDPC) is deduced based on the transfer matrix method, and the electromagnetic plane wave numerical simulation of this 1DDPC is performed by using the finite element method. The calculated and simulated results have confirmed that the filtering transmittance of this 1DDPC in symmetric structure of air/(Si/SiO_2)~N/GaAs/(SiO_2/Si)~N/air is far higher than in asymmetric structure of air/(Si/SiO_2)~N/GaAs/(Si/SiO_2)~N/air, where the filtering frequency can be tuned by the external pressure. It can provide a feasible route to design the external pressure-controlled THz filter based on 1DPC with a defective semiconductor. 展开更多

The heat of crystallization of Vitamin C was calculated with the aid of quantitative analysis. According to the population balance equation under unsteady state, the rates of nucleation and growth were determined. The parameters of crystallization kinetics equations were estimated by regression of experimental data. In this paper, we consider the photonic crystal slab consisting of a square lattice of square metallic rods immersed in a dielectric background. Through the analysis of the equifrequency-surface contours and the field patterns of a point source placed in the vicinity of the photonic crystal slab, we find that a good-quality image can form at the frequencies in the second TM-polarized photonic band. Comparing the images forlned at different frequencies, we can clearly see that an excellent-quality image is formed by the mechanisms of simultaneous action of the self-collimation effect and the negative-refraction effect. 展开更多

A laboratory-scale reaction-crystallization process of struvite synthesis from diluted water solution of Mg^2+, NH^+ 4 and PO3- ions was studied. The research covered the tests of two original constructions of continuous jet-pump Draft Tube Magma (DTM)-type crystallizers with internal circulation of suspension (upward/downward). Interactions between constructional, hydrodynamic and kinetic factors were established and discussed. Nucleation and linear growth rates of struvite crystals were calculated on the basis of population density distribution. Kinetic model of idealized Mixed Suspension Mixed Product Removal (MSMPR) crystallizer considering the size-dependent growth mechanism was applied (Rojkowski hyperbolic equation). For comparison purposes the kinetic data corre- sponded to a simpler, continuous draft tube-type crystallizer equipped with propeller agitator were analyzed. It was concluded that crystal product of larger size was withdrawn from the jet-pump DTM crystallizer of the descending flow of suspension in a mixing chamber. 展开更多

Modeling the kinetics of the preparing process is necessary to produce a product with the appropriate particle properties and minimum production cost.Owing to the lackness of crystal size distributor (CSD) information,however,solvent-mediated phase transformation encounters difficulty in modeling the kinetics as compared to solution crystallization.Consequently,a model was established by making the product CSD to move along by horizontal translation to obtain the CSDs of the stable phase in the process of transformation.Then the moment method was used to solve the popular balance equation,and the least square nonlinear regression method was applied to estimate the kinetics parameters.The model has been successfully used to simulate the transformation of CaSO4?2H2O to α-CaSO4?1/2H2O in an isothermal seeded batch crystallizer with different stirring speeds,and it is beneficial to producing high performance α-CaSO4?1/2H2O crystals which have the right particle characteristics. 展开更多

Pre-melting is a phenomenon that below the melting point the liquid-like structure appears at the grainboundary while the grain interior remains a crystal structure. The phase-field crystal method was employed to investigate the early evolution of the liquid pools in pre-melting regions, mainly involving four structural transformations: solid-solid state → small droplet → large liquid pool → homogeneous liquid melting. The microscopic morphology and free energy variation with different average atomic densities demonstrate that the average atomic density is sensitive to the morphological characteristics of liquid pools. Both two-dimensional and three-dimensional simulation results show that the amplitude reduction of order parameters can promote the order-disorder transition of grain boundaries, causing pre-melting in the edge dislocation aggregation. The relationship between the average atomic density and the width of the liquid pools is verified from thermodynamics, which provides a prerequisite for the application of high-temperature strain in the later stage to some extent. 展开更多

The objective of the present study was to alter the crystal habit of itraconazole(ITZ)by cooling and anti-solvent crystallization and characterize its properties.ITZ was recrystallized in different solvents and the effects of each solvent on morphology of crystals,dissolution behavior and solid state of recrystallized drug particles were investigated.The results revealed that ITZ crystals recrystallized by cooling and anti-solvent crystallization showed the different crystal habits from the untreated ITZ.Using cooling crystallization tended to provide needle-shaped crystals while the crystals obtained from anti-solvent crystallization showed more flaky,plate shape.This indicated the importance of preparation method on nucleation and crystal growth.No change in drug polymorphism was observed,according to determination of thermal property and crystalline state by differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray diffractometry,respectively.The recrystallized ITZ showed higher drug dissolution than untreated ITZ and the highest drug dissolution was observed from the samples recrystallized in the presence of PEG 200,which provided the small plate-shaped crystals with tremendously increased in surface area.However,the increasing of drug dissolution is relatively small,therefore,further development may be required. 展开更多

The homogeneous plastic flow of fully amorphous and partially crystallized Zr(41.2)Ti(13.8)Cu(12.5)Ni(10)Be(22.5) bulk metallic glass (Vitl) has been investigated by compression tests at high temperatures in supercooled liquid region. Experimental results show that at sufficiently low strain rates, the supercooled liquid of the fully amorphous alloy reveals Newtonian flow with a linear relationship between the flow stress and strain rate. As the strain rate is increased, a transition from linear Newtonian to nonlinear flow is detected, which can be explained by the transition state theory. Over the entire strain rate interval investigated, however, only nonlinear flow is present in the partially crystallized alloy, and the flow stress for each strain rate is much higher. It is found that the strain rate-stress relationship for the partially crystaltized alloy at the given temperature of 646 K also obeys the sinh law derived from the transition state theory, similar to that of the initial homogeneous amorphous alloy. Thus, it is proposed that the flow behavior of the nanocrystalline/amorphous composite at 646 K is mainly controlled by the viscous flow of the remaining supercooled liquid. 展开更多

Crystal structure and crystallinity of carbon nitride support, size and dispersity of active-metal nanoparticles(NPs), and surface engineering of composites have great roles in generation and separation of photogenerated charge carries and photocatalyzed organic reactions for the conversion of solar energy into chemical energy. Herein, we deposited well-dispersed Pd NPs with small size on crystallized carbon nitride(CN–C) to construct a Schottky-type Pd/CN–C hybrid for photocatalyzed Ullmann C–C homocoupling of aryl halides under visible light irradiation at room temperature. Compared to Pd NPs supported g-C_3N_4(Pd/g-C_3N_4), Pd/CN–C exhibits excellent visible light photocatalytic activity for Ullmann C–C coupling of aryl halides due to high crystallinity of CN–C support, high dispersion and smaller size of Pd NPs, and the interfacial heterojunction of Pd/CN–C. Upon visible light irradiation, more photogenerated electrons from CN–C flow across the Schottky junction to metallic Pd and trigger the Ullmann C–C coupling of aryl halides. The photogenerated holes on CN–C surface are captured by a protic solvent(such as EtOH). In the presence of base K_2CO_3, the solvent undergoes dissociation, dehydrogenation, and finally can be oxidized by captured photogenerated holes. Moreover, Pd/CN–C has general applicability for various substrates and shows excellent stability and reusability for more than nine cycles. 展开更多

A wastewater evaporation-desalination pretreatment method was introduced to remove the Na+ and K+ salts in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) wastewater before it was fed into the incinerator. VOCs in the wastewater were volatilized in the evaporation system and then the vapor was combusted in an incinerator. Simulated phenol wastewater containing sodium chloride was evaporated and concentrated and sodium chloride was crystallized in different parameters. The experimental results showed that the higher initial concentration of sodium chloride increases the ratio of volatilization of VOCs, which was due to the effect of “salting out” (a decrease in the solubility of the nonelectrolyte in the solution, or more rigorously, an increase in its activity coef-ficient, caused by the salt addition (Furter and Cook, 1967)). When evaporation speed was increased from 1.67 ml/min to 2.73 ml/min, the total removal coefficient of sodium chloride was about 99.88%~99.99%. This pretreatment procedure eliminates the slag phenomenon caused by Na+ and K+ salts during wastewater incineration, so the incinerator could operate continuously, and the wastewater evaporation could increase the heat value of wastewater, and the operation cost would be reduced. 展开更多

A segment of 10-m photonic crystal fiber with a high nonlinear coefficient of 62.8 W-1/kin is utilized to realize large scale soliton self-frequency shift relevant to the power of the sampled optical signal. Furthermore, a 100-m dispersion-increasing fiber is used as the spectral compression module for further resolution enhancement. Simulation results show that 317-nm maximum wavelength shift is realized with 1550-nm initial wavelength and 6-bit quantization resolution is obtained with a subsequent spectral compression process. 展开更多

In this paper, we optimize a proposed all-optical quantization scheme based on soliton self-frequency shift(SSFS)and pre-chirp spectral compression techniques. A 10m-long high-nonlinear photonic crystal fiber(PCF) is used as an SSFS medium relevant to the power of the sampled optical pulses. Furthermore, a 10m-long dispersion flattened hybrid cladding hexagonal-octagonal PCF(6/8-PCF) is utilized as a spectral compression medium to further enhance the resolution. We investigated the steady state gamma-ray radiation response of pure-silica-core photonic crystal fibers(PSC-PCFs)under an accumulated dose of 500 Gy and a dose rate of 2.38 Gy/min. The radiation-induced attenuation(RIA) spectra in the near-infrared region from 800 nm to 1700 nm were obtained. We find that the RIA at 1550 nm is related with hydroxyl(OH^-) absorption defects in addition to the identified self-trapped hole(STH) defects. Moreover, it is proposed and demonstrated that reduced OH^-absorption defects can decrease the RIA at 1550 nm. The RIA at 1550 nm has effectively declined from 27.7 d B/km to 3.0 dB/km through fabrication improvement. Preliminary explanations based on the unique fabrication processes were given to interpret the RIA characteristics of PSC-PCFs. The results show that the PSC-PCFs,which offer great advantages over conventional fibers, are promising and applicable to fiber sensors in harsh environments. 展开更多

The reactive crystallization process of dexamethasone sodium phosphate was investigated in a continuous mixed-suspension, mixed-product-removal(MSMPR) crystallizer. Analyzing experimental data, it was found that the growth of product crystal was size-dependent. The Bransom, CR, ASL, M J2 and M J3 size-dependent growth models were discussed in details. Using experimental steady state population density data of dexamethasone sodium phosphate, parameters of five size-dependent growth models were determined by the method of non-linear least-squares. By comparison of experimental population density and linear growth rate data with those obtained from the five size-dependent growth models, it was found that the MJ3 model predicts the growth more accurately than do the other four models. Based on the theory of population balance, the crystal nucleation and growth rate equations of dexamethasone sodium phosphate were determined by non-linear regression method. The effects of different operation parameters such as supersaturation, magma density and temperature on the quality of product crystal were also discussed, and the optimal operation conditions were derived. 展开更多
