A high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet(HPLC-UV)fingerprint method for the overall chemical analysis of edible mushrooms was established based on Auricularia heimuer for the first time,and then applied to...A high performance liquid chromatography-ultraviolet(HPLC-UV)fingerprint method for the overall chemical analysis of edible mushrooms was established based on Auricularia heimuer for the first time,and then applied to analyze 60 batches of A.heimuer,Auricularia cornea.Auricularia cornea*Yu Muer’and TremeUa fuciformis.A total of 9 characteristic peaks of A.heimuer.11 characteristic peaks of A.cornea,6 characteristic peaks of A.cornea‘Yu Muer’,and 9 characteristic peaks of I fuciformis were designated.Then,a combinatory analysis,including similarity evaluation,hierarchical cluster analysis and principal component analysis,revealed the chemical consistency and difference between samples from the same and different species.The HPLC fingerprint method established in this paper could be used to characterize the components of A.heimuer,A.cornea,A.cornea‘Yu Muer’,and T.fuciformis and discriminate the 4 edible mushrooms effectively in combination with pattern recognition analysis.展开更多

This algorithm combines the linear feature extracted from principal component analysis (PCA) and nonlinear feature extracted from kernel principal component analysis (KPCA) respectively, and then utilizes the adaptive feature fusion algorithm which is based on the weighted maximum margin criterion (WMMC) to fuse the features in order to achieve better performance. The linear regression classifier is used in the experiments. The experimental results indicate that the proposed self-fusion algorithm achieves higher recognition rate compared with the traditional PCA and KPCA feature fusion algorithms.展开更多

To solve this problem,an intelligent system is proposed that utilizes acoustic features to recognize customers' emotion and utilizes the global features of emotion and duration to analyze the satisfaction. Experiments on real-call data show that the proposed system offers a significantly higher accuracy in analyzing the satisfaction than the baseline system. The paper firstly reviews some traditional recognition ...This paper focuses on the recognition rate comparison for competing recognition algorithms, which is a common problem of many pattern recognition research areas. The paper firstly reviews some traditional recognition rate comparison procedures and discusses their limitations. A new method, the posterior probability calculation(PPC) procedure is then proposed based on Bayesian technique. The paper analyzes the basic principle, process steps and computational complexity of the PPC procedure. In the Bayesian view, the posterior probability represents the credible degree(equal to confidence level) of the comparison results. The posterior probability of correctly selecting or sorting the competing recognition algorithms is derived, and the minimum sample size requirement is also pre-estimated and given out by the form of tables. To further illustrate how to use our method, the PPC procedure is used to prove the rationality of the experiential choice in one application and then to calculate the confidence level with the fixed-size datasets in another application. These applications reveal the superiority of the PPC procedure, and the discussions about the stopping rule further explain the underlying statistical causes. Finally we conclude that the PPC procedure achieves all the expected functions and be superior to the traditional methods.展开更多
Based on the analysis of the unique shapes and writing styles of Uyghur characters,we design a framework for prototype character recognition system and carry out a systematic theoretical and experimental research on i...Based on the analysis of the unique shapes and writing styles of Uyghur characters,we design a framework for prototype character recognition system and carry out a systematic theoretical and experimental research on its modules.In the preprocessing procedure,we use the linear and nonlinear normalization based on dot density method.Both structural and statistical features are extracted due to the fact that there are some very similar characters in Uyghur literature.In clustering analysis,we adopt the dynamic clustering algorithm based on the minimum spanning tree(MST),and use the k-nearest neighbor matching classification as classifier.The testing results of prototype system show that the recognition rates for characters of the four different types(independent,suffix,intermediate,and initial type) are 74.67%,70.42%,63.33%,and 72.02%,respectively;the recognition rates for the case of five candidates for those characters are 94.34%,94.19%,93.15%,and 95.86%,respectively.The ideas and methods used in this paper have some commonality and usefulness for the recognition of other characters that belong to Altaic languages family.展开更多

The common feature extraction method for high resolution range profile obtained by using Fourier-modified direct Mellin transform is inefficient and unsatisfactory in recognition rate And. generally speaking, the automatic target recognition method based on inverse synthetic aperture radar 2-dimensional imaging is not competent for real time object identification task because it needs complicated motion compensation which is sometimes too difficult to carry out. While the method applied here is competent for real-time recognition because of its computational efficiency. The result of processing experimental data indicates that this method is good at recognition.展开更多
