We first analyze the uniform microphone array and give the design for microphone array applied in the hand-free speech recognition. Combining the traditional direction finding technique of MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC) with the focusing matrix method, we improve the resolving power of the microphone array for multiple speech sources.As one application of finding Direction of Arrival (DOA), a new microphone-array system for noise reduction is proposed. The new system is based on maximum likelihood estimate technique which reconstruct superimposed signals from different directions by using DOA information. The DOA information is got in terms of focusing MUSIC method which has been proven to have high performance than conventional MUSIC method on speaker localization[1].展开更多
It is shown from both the numerical calculation and experimental research in flow ducts with an absorbing wedge at ekit that there does exist considerable noise reduction using single bypass added to the main duct, bu...It is shown from both the numerical calculation and experimental research in flow ducts with an absorbing wedge at ekit that there does exist considerable noise reduction using single bypass added to the main duct, but the amount and spectrum of noise reduction sometimes are not satisfactory in practice. Furthermore, the exit of practical duct is always connected with atmosphere directly so there is not any absorbing wedge at exit. In order to resolve these two problems, a method for predicting the noise reduction in practical ducts using multiple bypasses and numerical samples are presellted in the paper. It is proved correct by a site test, and there is noise reduction of 5 dB(A), even though the site test is not under the optimum situation.展开更多

The Environment and Disaster Reduction Satellite Constellation is a small satellite constellation developed by China for disaster monitoring.The two primary optical satellites,HJ-A and HJ-B,were successfully launched ...The Environment and Disaster Reduction Satellite Constellation is a small satellite constellation developed by China for disaster monitoring.The two primary optical satellites,HJ-A and HJ-B,were successfully launched in September 2008.The satellites carry a charge-coupled device,hyperspectral imager,and infrared scanner,and have the capability for wide coverage and rapid revisits in disaster reduction applications.Also scheduled to be launched is the HJ-C,which will carry synthetic aperture radar and have the ability to provide allweather observations at any time.A follow-up‘44’satellite constellation including four optical satellites and four radar satellites is in the works,to achieve the capability of quantitative,all-weather,all-time disaster forecasting,monitoring and assessment.The corresponding disaster reduction application system has a series of functions including remote sensing data processing,disaster monitoring and assessment,decision support,and user service and information distribution,which serves the whole process of disaster management.Since its construction has been carried out,the system has successfully dealt with several huge domestic and international natural disasters,and effectively improved scientific decision support.The follow-up system’s construction will integrate,update,and extend the original system to fulfill large-scale,quantitative,allweather disaster operation application needs.展开更多
