No matter whether a system is operated manually or automatically controlled by computer, the system’s vulnerability always exists. Earthquake Disaster Reduction System (EDRS) belongs to the category of information system. According to the features of security for EDRS, the steps and the methods on how to build the EDRS security were analyzed. The EDRS security features, security strategies and security measures were also given through a distributed EDRS skeleton that has been applied. Because there was still no appointed and authoritative agency or organization to certify and test EDRS security in China, a national information technology security certification center was introduced and suggested for the certification of the EDRS security. Finally, several discussions and tendencies for the EDRS development were presented. 展开更多

Biodegradability of Formulated Enzymatic Solution: An Alternative Waste Reduction System

Solid waste and air pollution are never ending environmental problems that can be partially solved by turning waste into useful bio-products. In this study, enzymatic solutions were developed by formulating enzymatic solutions from fish intestines and fruit peels. This aimed to help in biodegradation of organic solid wastes. Organic waste samples were treated with formulated enzymatic solutions for 7 days in aerated set-up for aerobic degradation. Biodegradability and odor of the waste samples were compared with commercial enzymatic solution. Determination of evolved carbon dioxide (CO2) using gravimetric analysis (GA) was used to determine the percent biodegradability, Dt, of organic solid waste and odor-ranking method was used to determine the odor intensity of the organic waste samples. The result showed that the weight loss and percentage biodegradability of organic waste sample treated with formulated enzymatic solution is comparable with that of the commercial enzymatic solution. In terms of odor intensity, waste treated with the product, formulated enzymatic solution (FES) is also comparable to the waste treated with commercial enzymatic solution. Thus, implying that the developed FES is as efficient as that of the commercial enzymatic solution. These significant results will be helpful to future researchers in providing ways on improving the degradation of organic solid waste and mitigating the increasing glitches on our environment. Enzyme kinetics, physical and chemical properties studies of the solution were recommended for future researchers to accurately determine the effectiveness of the formulated enzymatic solution in the degradation of organic solid waste. 展开更多

The presence of numerous uncertainties in hybrid decision information systems(HDISs)renders attribute reduction a formidable task.Currently available attribute reduction algorithms,including those based on Pawlak attribute importance,Skowron discernibility matrix,and information entropy,struggle to effectively manages multiple uncertainties simultaneously in HDISs like the precise measurement of disparities between nominal attribute values,and attributes with fuzzy boundaries and abnormal values.In order to address the aforementioned issues,this paper delves into the study of attribute reduction withinHDISs.First of all,a novel metric based on the decision attribute is introduced to solve the problem of accurately measuring the differences between nominal attribute values.The newly introduced distance metric has been christened the supervised distance that can effectively quantify the differences between the nominal attribute values.Then,based on the newly developed metric,a novel fuzzy relationship is defined from the perspective of“feedback on parity of attribute values to attribute sets”.This new fuzzy relationship serves as a valuable tool in addressing the challenges posed by abnormal attribute values.Furthermore,leveraging the newly introduced fuzzy relationship,the fuzzy conditional information entropy is defined as a solution to the challenges posed by fuzzy attributes.It effectively quantifies the uncertainty associated with fuzzy attribute values,thereby providing a robust framework for handling fuzzy information in hybrid information systems.Finally,an algorithm for attribute reduction utilizing the fuzzy conditional information entropy is presented.The experimental results on 12 datasets show that the average reduction rate of our algorithm reaches 84.04%,and the classification accuracy is improved by 3.91%compared to the original dataset,and by an average of 11.25%compared to the other 9 state-of-the-art reduction algorithms.The comprehensive analysis of these research results clearly indicates that our algorithm is highly effective in managing the intricate uncertainties inherent in hybrid data. 展开更多

Water scarcity is an escalating global crisis,posing a severe threat to populations worldwide.Consequently,exploring various materials to remove emerging contaminants from freshwater sources has garnered significant attention.In this regard,single-atom catalysis(SACs) has emerged as a catalyst of scientific progress in water purification and treatment methodologies during recent decades.SACs exhibit exceptional catalytic activity,selectivity and stability,due to their near-perfect atom utilization,highly unsaturated coordination environment and uniform reaction centers.However,a comprehensive and critical review encompassing the successful integration of SACs into water purification processes needs to be completed.This review aims to accentuate recent trends by presenting the synthesis,structure,and environment and energy application-relevant properties of SACs.The results show that a comprehensive and multi-perspective summary of the advantages of SACs in environmental remediation can have significant benefits,such as fast kinetics,costeffectiveness,selectivity.The oxidation and reduction processes of SACs and functional SACs materials in water purification were emphasized.Furthermore,the last section is devoted to the current research gaps and further perspectives on the application of SACs in water treatment,which are summarized and analyzed. 展开更多

At present,the active control of gear vibration mostly relies on existing algorithms.In order to achieve effective vibration reduction of the gear system,particularly during the vibration process,this paper proposes a multi-channel VSMFxLMS algorithm based on the FxLMS algorithm.This novel approach takes into account the time-varying nature of the vibration signal during gear vibration.Adaptive filter power coefficients are updated in a skip-tongue variable-step manner using momentum factors.Firstly,the paper establishes the dynamics model of the gear system and analyzes the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the system.It then examines the vibration damping effect of the FxLMS algorithm and analyzes its performance under different gear system motion states,considering different step lengths and momentum factors.Lastly,the proposed VSMFxLMS algorithm is compared with the FxLMS algorithm,highlighting the superiority of the former.Overall,this research highlights the potential of a multi-channel VSMFxLMS algorithm in reducing vibrations in gear systems.The study optimizes the performance of gear systems while using advanced control strategies. 展开更多

We propose a novel framework for learning a low-dimensional representation of data based on nonlinear dynamical systems,which we call the dynamical dimension reduction(DDR).In the DDR model,each point is evolved via a nonlinear flow towards a lower-dimensional subspace;the projection onto the subspace gives the low-dimensional embedding.Training the model involves identifying the nonlinear flow and the subspace.Following the equation discovery method,we represent the vector field that defines the flow using a linear combination of dictionary elements,where each element is a pre-specified linear/nonlinear candidate function.A regularization term for the average total kinetic energy is also introduced and motivated by the optimal transport theory.We prove that the resulting optimization problem is well-posed and establish several properties of the DDR method.We also show how the DDR method can be trained using a gradient-based optimization method,where the gradients are computed using the adjoint method from the optimal control theory.The DDR method is implemented and compared on synthetic and example data sets to other dimension reduction methods,including the PCA,t-SNE,and Umap. 展开更多

This paper explores model order reduction(MOR)methods for discrete linear and discrete bilinear systems via discrete pulse orthogonal functions(DPOFs).Firstly,the discrete linear systems and the discrete bilinear systems are expanded in the space spanned by DPOFs,and two recurrence formulas for the expansion coefficients of the system’s state variables are obtained.Then,a modified Arnoldi process is applied to both recurrence formulas to construct the orthogonal projection matrices,by which the reduced-order systems are obtained.Theoretical analysis shows that the output variables of the reducedorder systems can match a certain number of the expansion coefficients of the original system’s output variables.Finally,two numerical examples illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methods. 展开更多

Operationally Simple Enantioselective Silane Reduction of Ketones by the [Ir(OMe)(cod)]2/Azolium Catalytic System

An operationally simple protocol was designed for the enantioselective silane reduction (ESR) of ketones using air- and moisture-stable [Ir(OMe)(cod)]<sub>2</sub> (cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene) (3) as a metal catalyst precursor. This reaction was driven by chiral hydroxyamide-functionalized azolium salt 2. The catalytic ESR reaction could be performed under benchtop conditions at room temperature. Treatment of 2 with 3 in THF yielded the monodentate IrCl(NHC)(cod) (NHC = N-heterocyclic carbene) complex 4 in 93% yield, herein the anionic methoxy ligand of 3 serves as an internal base that deprotonates the azolium ring of 2. The well-defined Ir complex 4 catalyzed the ESR reaction of propiophenone (6) with (EtO)<sub>2</sub>MeSiH using the pre-mixing reaction procedure. Based on this success, the catalytic ESR reaction was designed and implemented using an in situ-generated NHC/Ir catalyst derived from 2 and 3. Thus, a wide variety of aryl ketones could be reduced to the corresponding optically active alcohols in moderate to excellent stereoselectivities at room temperature without temperature control. Since the high catalytic activity of 3 was observed, we next evaluated several other transition metal catalyst precursors for the catalytic ESR reaction under the influence of 2. This evaluation revealed that Ir(acac)(cod) (acac = acetylacetonate) (28) and [IrCl(cod)]<sub>2</sub> (5) can be successfully used as metal catalyst precursors in the ESR reaction. 展开更多

In recent years,medium entropy alloys have become a research hotspot due to their excellent physical and chemical performances.By controlling reasonable elemental composition and processing parameters,the medium entropy alloys can exhibit similar properties to high entropy alloys and have lower costs.In this paper,a FeCoNi medium entropy alloy precursor was prepared via sol-gel and coprecipitation methods,respectively,and FeCoNi medium entropy alloys were prepared by carbothermal and hydrogen reduction.The phases and magnetic properties of FeCoNi medium entropy alloy were investigated.Results showed that FeCoNi medium entropy alloy was produced by carbothermal and hydrogen reduction at 1500℃.Some carbon was detected in the FeCoNi medium entropy alloy prepared by carbothermal reduction.The alloy prepared by hydrogen reduction was uniform and showed a relatively high purity.Moreover,the hydrogen reduction product exhibited better saturation magnetization and lower coercivity. 展开更多

The use of visible-light responsive photocatalysts for removing heavy metal ions in wastewater has received great attention.However,the development of photocatalysts with high activity and recyclability remains a huge challenge.Herein,a recyclable carbon fiber cloth-supported porous CdS nanorod photocatalyst was fabricated by a two-step hydrothermal treatment using AgVO_(3) nanowires as templates.The results indicated that under visible-light illumination,the carbon cloth-supported porous CdS nanorods showed improved photocatalytic activity for the reduction of Cr(Ⅵ),with an apparent rate constant exceeding that of carbon cloth-supported CdS nanospheres by a factor of 1.65 times.Moreover,the carbon cloth-supported porous CdS nanorods can be easily separated and be reused.This brings a new perspective for developing photocatalysts with high efficiency and recyclability for wastewater treatment. 展开更多

The nitrogen-coordinated metal single-atom catalysts(M−N−C SACs)with an ultra-high metal loading synthetized by direct high-temperature pyrolysis have been widely reported.However,most of metal single atoms in these catalysts were buried in the carbon matrix,resulting in a low metal utilization and inaccessibility for adsorption of reactants during the catalytic process.Herein,we reported a facile synthesis based on the hard-soft acid-base(HSAB)theory to fabricate Co single-atom catalysts with highly exposed metal atoms ligated to the external pyridinic-N sites of a nitrogen-doped carbon support.Benefiting from the highly accessible Co active sites,the prepared Co−N−C SAC exhibited a superior oxygen reduction reactivity comparable to that of the commercial Pt/C catalyst,showing a high turnover frequency(TOF)of 0.93 e^(−)·s^(-1)·site^(-1)at 0.85 V vs.RHE,far exceeding those of some representative SACs with a ultra-high metal content.This work provides a rational strategy to design and prepare M−N−C single-atom catalysts featured with high site-accessibility and site-density. 展开更多

NA novel smelting reduction process based on FeO-SiO2-Al2O3 slag system for spent lithium ion batteries with Al cans was developed, while using copper slag as the only slag former. The feasibility of the process and the mechanism of copper loss in slag were investigated. 98.83% Co, 98.39% Ni and 93.57% Cu were recovered under the optimum conditions of slag former/battery mass ratio of 4.0:1, smelting temperature of 1723 K, and smelting mass ratio of time of 30 min. The FeO-SiO2-Al2O3 slag system for the smelting process is appropriate under the conditions of m(FeO):m(SiO2)=0.58:1?1.03:1, and 17.19%?21.52% Al2O3 content. The obtained alloy was mainly composed of Fe-Co-Cu-Ni solid solution including small amounts of matte. The obtained slag mainly consisted of fayalite and hercynite. Meanwhile, the mechanism of copper loss is the mechanical entrainment from strip-like fayalite particles in the main form of copper sulfide and metallic copper. 展开更多

The reduction behaviors and characteristics of products of the Fe-Cr-O system (FeCr2O4 and Fe2O3+Cr2O3) and Fe-Cr-Ni-O system (Fe2O3+Cr2O3+NiO) under various conditions were studied. The results show that more Fe-Cr or Fe-Cr-Ni solution and less residual carbon content were obtained at higher temperatures and lower initial molar ratio of C to O (nC:nO). The degree of reduction was highly dependent on both time and temperature, and the residual carbon content greatly increased with increasing nC:nO at each temperature. The products generated during the carbothermic reduction of the Fe-Cr-O system were examined using X-ray diffraction (XRD). A scanning electron microscope (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive spectrometer was used to observe the microstructure and the distribution of elements in the various phases of the final reduction products of the Fe-Cr-O and Fe-Cr-Ni-O. 展开更多

We explores Hamiltonian reduction in pulse-controlled finite-dimensional quantum systems with near-degenerate eigenstates. A quantum system with a non-degenerate ground state and several near-degenerate excited states is controlled by a short pulse, and the objective is to maximize the collective population on all excited states when we treat all of them as one level. Two cases of the systems are shown to be equivalent to effective two-level systems. When the pulse is weak, simple relations between the original systems and the reduced systems are obtained. When the pulse is strong, these relations are still available for pulses with only one frequency under the first-order approximation. 展开更多

Through these first integrals, the order of the Birkhoffian system can be reduced. Then according to the alternate of the coordinate, a kind of new partial differential operator was defined in order to hold the Birkhoff form. The result shows that the Birkhoffian system has generalized energy integrals and cyclic integrals. Furthermore, each integral can reduce the order of equations two degrees. 展开更多

Time delays in the feedback control often dete- riorate the control performance or even cause the instability of a dynamic system. This paper presents a control strategy for the dynamic system with a constant or a slowly time-varying input delay based on a transformation, which sire-plifies the time-delay system the relation is discussed for into a delay-free one. Firstly, two existing reduction-based linear quadratic controls. One is continuous and the other is discrete. By extending the relation, a new reduction-based control is then developed with a numerical algorithm presented for practical control implementation. The controller suggested by the proposed method has such a promising property that it can be used for the cases of different values of an input time delay without redesign of controller. This property provides the potential for stabilizing the dynamic system with a time-varying input delay. Consequently, the application of the proposed method to the dynamic system with a slowly time-varying delay is discussed. Finally, numerical simulations are given to show the efficacy and the applicability of the method. 展开更多

The Routh and Whittaker methods of reduction for Lagrange system on time scales with nabla derivatives are studied.The equations of motion for Lagrange system on time scales are established, and their cyclic integrals and generalized energy integrals are given. The Routh functions and Whittaker functions of Lagrange system are constructed, and the order of differential equations of motion for the system are reduced by using the cyclic integrals or the generalized energy integrals with nabla derivatives. The results show that the reduced Routh equations and Whittaker equations hold the form of Lagrnage equations with nabla derivatives. Finally, two examples are given to illustrate the application of the results. 展开更多
