This thesis sets up the dynamic model of residents′perception and attitude, analyzes the linkage between residents′ perception and attitude and the influential factors of resort life cycle, and finally, with a case study of Putuo Mountain, preliminarily discusses the relationship between resort life cycle and residents′perception and attitude. The research findings show that, although within development stage of life cycle, Putuo Mountain has already presented some signs of mature stage. The on-the-spot survey also indicates that, the local residents′ positive perception is stronger than their negative perception. But compared with residents in some other coastal resorts such as Haikou and Sanya, negative perception of residents in Putuo Mountain is more evident, as the result of the smaller tourism carrying capacity in Putuo Mountain. There are some influential factors that have great impact on tourism carrying capacity in Putuo Mountain: tourist-resident number ratio, residents′ benefit-cost ratio and characteristics of tourism resources. And the less influential factors are residents′ demographic character, tourist behavioral character and cultural differences between local residents and tourists. Therefore, effective measures should be taken to adjust the structure of tourism product for the purpose of expanding tourism carrying capacity, lowering its pressure, lessening residents′ environmental cost and enhancing their positive perception, which is the most essential prerequisite for the maturation of life cycle in Putuo Mountain.展开更多

文摘Residents play a fundamental role in the quality of tourists’experiences and satisfaction derived from a visit and, thus,in the success of a tourism destination. This paper addresses the perceptions that residents have the impacts of tourism on Madeira Island,a mature tourism destination.Based on data extracted from a survey administered to residents during August and September 2018,we inquired on the extent to which they maintain a positive perception of the impacts of the tourist industry. The survey tried to address the residents’perceptions of economic, cultural, social,or environmental impacts. In the analysis of the data, both descriptive and multivariable statistical methods were used. The empirical results attained indicate that residents feel that there is no excess of tourism on the island. They do not fail to realize that there are a few negative consequences, but the positive ones got better scores on average.Being an inhabitant of an urban or a rural site did not seem to influence differently the perceptions gathered on the contribution of tourism to the overall development of Madeira Island. This type of analysis can serve as a useful tool for tourism planners and managers in order to prevent or minimize eventual negative impacts of the tourism industry as felt by the local inhabitants and, thus, for creating the required policies.
文摘Aim: This research aims to evaluate patient-centeredness and communication skills from the patients’ point of view and that of the physicians’ point of view and compares the two outcomes. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with a convenient sample of 418 patients and 94 residents. Instrument of the study was a structured questionnaire that aimed to evaluate patient centeredness and communication skills of the residents. Results: Residents gave themselves a significantly higher score than the score given to them by patients in most studied aspects such as the extent to which the doctor discussed the patient’s problem, the extent to which the doctor explained the problem, the doctor introduced himself, the doctor greeted the patient properly and others. The only aspect for which patients gave residents higher score than that residents gave themselves was the extent to which the doctor asked the patient about what is expected to be done (ECG, CT scan, giving antibiotics, …). Conclusion: A transformation from doctor centered approach to patient centered approach is needed.

文摘In the process of tourism development, destination residents,as an important interest group, their perception and attitude towards the impact of tourism has a vital significance to the success of the development of coastal tourism industry. This research studies the perception and attitude to the socio-cultural impact of community residents who live in coastal tourism destination Qingdao through an empirical case study. The results of the study draw that residents’perception of positive influences produce positive effects on their attitude while perception of negative impact generates negative effects.Cluster analysis and descriptive statistical analysis were used to divide Qingdao community residents into four types, namely optimistic supporters, pessimistic opponents, rational supporters, and neutral.Through the different categories of demographic analysis and logistic regression model analysis, the influence degree of residents’subjective factors posed on tourism effect perception has been explored. The research adds a new applied case study for a comprehensive understanding of impacts of coastal tourism destinations.
文摘Spain is the country with the most Biosphere Reserves in the world,52,and Asturias, with 7,ranks first among the single-province Autonomous Communities. The tourist interest in these natural spaces is increasing, but little or nothing is known about how the residents of these natural spaces perceive the tourist impacts. The main objective of this research was to evaluate the residents’perceived changes in protected mountain areas in Asturias concerning the environmental, sociocultural, and economic dimensions related to tourism activity with survey methods and various quantitative tools. The findings obtained were the following:firstly, there were significant differences between the residents’sociodemographic characteristics and their perceptions of tourism impacts;secondly, there were positive relationships between the residents’perceived tourism economic, environmental and sociocultural impacts and their general attitude towards tourism development;and thirdly, the more positive the residents’attitude towards tourism development, the more likely residents actively support its further development. The findings indicate the willingness of residents to get involved and participate in the tourism activity,so policymakers should implicate residents in decisionmaking on local tourism development. In conclusion,long-term monitoring of residents’evolution of their perceptions and attitudes is necessary to achieve sustainable tourism development.
文摘Tight space and interactive resources grant tourism community residents a vital body status in community tourism development and construction process. Residents' all-sided and effective participation in Tourism development process, with no doubt, is an open democratization process and an effective way to ensure sustainable development of tourism as it can raise residents' income and eliminate bad influence of tourism. "Impression-Liu Sanjie" is a scenic spot where "landscape live-action" is performed. Local residents (farmers) serve as the main part. Through survey and analysis of participation and perception of community residents, this paper aims at finding some useful consult and inspirations for the development, management and policy formulation of other rural scenic region alike.

文摘The change in residents′ perception and attitude and resort life cycle are the basic problems in the course of resort evolution. Therefore, effective measures should be taken to adjust the structure of tourism product for the purpose of expanding tourism carrying capacity, lowering its pressure, lessening residents′ environmental cost and enhancing their positive perception, which is the most essential prerequisite for the maturation of life cycle in Putuo Mountain.
文摘In order to get close to and support the "new residents" of Penghu County, Taiwan (known as female foreign spouses, who are from China's Mainland and Southeast Asia), this study was conducted to set up a new service framework in the local community by the Penghu County Service Center for new residents. This study was implemented between May and July of 2011 to understand the local community perception of new residents living in five rural areas, and one city of Penghu, and to understand the community perceptions of these new residents. This includes: the new residents' feelings about the community, the new residents' feelings about interaction with the locals, multicultural acceptance of the community, and the new residents' feelings about participation in local activities. According to the parameters of this research, quantitative research methodology was adopted. After questionnaire studies and data analysis, the key findings are thus: New residents living areas have significant impact on the community perceptions of them, especially in two areas: the new resident's feeling relating to the community environment and their perception of interaction with the locals.

文摘The crossmodal interaction of different senses, which is an important basis for learning and memory in the human brain,is highly desired to be mimicked at the device level for developing neuromorphic crossmodal perception, but related researches are scarce. Here,we demonstrate an optoelectronic synapse for vision-olfactory crossmodal perception based on MXene/violet phosphorus(VP)van der Waals heterojunctions.Benefiting from the efficient separation and transport of photogenerated carriers facilitated by conductive MXene, the photoelectric responsivity of VP is dramatically enhanced by 7 orders of magnitude, reaching up to 7.7 A W^(−1).Excited by ultraviolet light, multiple synaptic functions, including excitatory postsynaptic currents, pairedpulse facilitation,short/long-term plasticity and“learning-experience”behavior,were demonstrated with a low power consumption.Furthermore, the proposed optoelectronic synapse exhibits distinct synaptic behaviors in different gas environments, enabling it to simulate the interaction of visual and olfactory information for crossmodal perception. This work demonstrates the great potential of VP in optoelectronics and provides a promising platform for applications such as virtual reality and neurorobotics.
