The tidal currents in Kemen Channel were identified as the regular semidiurnal and reversing tidal flows, with its behaviour more like standing waves. Moreover, the flood currents in the lower layers were found to be ahead of that in the upper layers and vice versa for ebb tides. The major of tidal ellipse for M2 constituent was found to be larger close to the southern side of the channel, with its incline also increasing toward the south. The signs of M4 constituent were also found mainly nearby the end points of this transect, indicating the importance of nonlinearity in tidal dynamics due to the shallower topography. A two-layer structure was found for the residual currents in Kemen Channel, flowing northeastwardly out of the Bay in upper 20m and southwestwardly into the bay in the lowers. Besides approximate 4.81×10^8 m^3 water exchanges were determined between the Luoyuan Bay and outer seas by the calculation of tidal flux through Kemen Channel.展开更多

The currents at surface off the mouth in July 1959 and 1982 flow northeastward and eastward due to the river discharge, the current speed was larger in1982 than in 1959. All the bottom currents flow landward due to baroclinic effect. The surface current was controlled by the river runoff and the Taiwan Warm Current (TWC). A return current at surface off the mouth was observed in September 1959. In general, the bottom currents were controlled by the TWC in most study area in addition to the runoff near the mouth. Although driven by 3-D model with the monthly averaged forces (river discharge, wind stress, baroclinic effect, open boundary water volume flux and tidal mixing) in August, the simulated circulations were basically consistent with the observed ones with episodic time manner.展开更多

The equations show that the wave-induced Lagrangian residual ot satisfies generalized geostrophic dynamics. The relation of meridional residual current to vertical residual current resulted from the varied bottom is similar to the Sverdrup transport relation. The tranport process of potential vorticity for zeroth order approximation is determined by the advection whose velocity is equal to that of the weve-induced Lagrangian residual current.A Kelvin wave solution and the reated solution of Kelvin wave-induced Lagrangian residual current for the case of slowly varying topography are obtained anaytically. The wave solution shows that a shoaling eastward bottom can decrease the propagation speed of the Kelvin wave and cause it to take a longer time to transmit the energy from the west to the central and easterm parts of the basin, and can also shorten the wavelength and enhance the wave amplitude. The wave-induced residual current solution reveals that the existence of a sloping bottom can result in a onier meridional component of wave-induced mesidual current and that Kelvin wave-induced Lagrangian currents’s responses to bottom variation are greater than those of Kelvin wave orbital currents.展开更多

An objective analysis method is deduced based on this hypothesis. The linear combination method is used to solve the non-divergent component of the current field of an ocean basin containing islands, which is equivalent to a mathematical problem of solving a Poisson equation in a multi-connected domain. The method is applied to the Bohai Sea, the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea (ECS). The modeled result is consistent with the current maps constructed by other oceanographers.展开更多

At first, the principal semidiurnal lunar tide (M2)and the tidal current are derived in these areas. The results obtained with the model are strongly supported by the observational results available. Then, the tide-induced residual flow is determined by using the currents generated by the tidal input. The main features of the residual current in ECS and SHS are presented by analyzing the calculated results. Some of the problems are discussed such as the cause of generating residual current and the contribution of the residual current to the observed current.展开更多

On the basis of the drift tracking and the mooring system data, here, analyses have been done aiming at the structural characteristics and the dynamical mechanisms of the frontal residual current field of the Hangzhou Bay. Especially a theoritical model is given focusing on the frontal density-driven currents. The results indicate that there exists obviously the upper-layer front-driven flow along the orientation of the front during neap tides in the research area of the Hangzhou Bay. But the flow is restrained by the strong vortical viscosity during spring tides. In the lower layer, the effect of the front is little and the subtidal movements are dominated by the tide-induced residual currents. In addition, the influences of wind forcing to the residual current field are also suggested to be important.展开更多

The simulation results were in good agreement with observations. The co-tidal maps of K1 , O1 , and M2 indicated that K1 and O1 were mostly standing waves outside the Lianzhou Bay, while M2 had a largely propagating character. However, all three constituents became propagating waves when entering the Lianzhou Bay, due to the shallow waters. The tidal current ellipses showed the characters of K1 , O1 , and M2 constituents: K1 and O1 were rotating outside the bay, but rectilinear along the water channels inside the bay; M2 was mostly rectilinear over the whole area. The tidal-induced residual current shows the flow was divided into two branches by the Guantouling Peninsula: one turned to flow west; the other was blocked by the southern boundary of the peninsula, creating a clockwise circulation. In Lianzhou Bay, there were two circulation systems, a cyclonic one at the top of the bay and an anti-cyclonic at the mouth.展开更多

The M2 tidal component was forced in open boundary and discharge from six rivers was included in the numerical calculation. The M2 tidal elevation produced by the FVCOM has a good agreement with the observation data. The M2 tidal current is also suc cessfully calculated under the ebb tide and flood tide conditions. The non-linear M2 tidal residual current was produced by the coastline geometry, especially surrounding the narrow strait between the Serangan Is- land and the Benoa Peninsula. The tidal residual current also generated two small eddies within the bay and one small eddy in the bay mouth. The salinity distribution influenced by river discharge could be success- fully calculated, where the numerical calculation and the observation results have a good correlation (r2) of 0.75. Finally in order to examine the seawater exchange in the Benoa Bay, the Lagrangian particle tracking method and calculation of residence time are applied. The mechanism of particle transport to the flushing of seawater is depicted clearly by both methods.展开更多

Features of the tidal and residual currents were studied with rotary spectral and cross-spectral methods. Main achievements were as follows: 1) Tides dominated the currents. At sites A and B, the semidiurnal tidal current was basically homogeneous in the whole depth, taking a clockwise rotation at site A, and near-rectilinear counterclockwise rotation at site B; while the diurnal tidal current was strong and clockwise near the surface, but decreased and turned counterclockwise with depth; at site C, semidiurnal tidal current dominated and diurnal current took the second, both of which were counterclockwise and vertically homogeneous. Inertial motion contributed to the clockwise component of diurnal fluctuations; 2) The 3-5d fluctuation of residual current was found at site C and attributed to the response of current to meridional wind, with a lag time of approximately 1.8d; 3) Mean residual flows at sites A and B in 2001 probably suggested an anticyclonic inner circulation in the middle of the southern Yellow Sea in summer.展开更多

Results indicate that( i) use of mulching films in Xinjiang is wide and there is great difference in use and residue recycling between cities and counties. Planting area and planting structure jointly influence use of mulching films, and the use of mulching films is significantly correlated with recycling of mulching films, but not correlated with recycling rate of mulching films.( ii) There are significant differences in distribution of residue of mulching films, highest in North Xinjiang and South Xinjiang, followed by East Xinjiang, and the lowest in West Xinjiang.( iii) There are significant differences in distribution of residue of mulching films between different crop fields. Residue of mulching films in cotton field is the key problem of pollution.展开更多

文摘Some observational characteristics of residual current and mass transport in the Hangzhou Bay and the Changjiang Estuary in winter are analyzed. The residual current and its impact on mass transport are simulated with a 3 - D joint model for the Hangzhou Bay and the Changjiang Estuary, in which the impacts of river flux, wind, baroclinic pressure gradient (BPG), background current in the East China Sea and tide (including M2, S2, K1 and O1) are taken into account. Based on there studies, further simulations are made to analyze the dynamical mechanisms of the observational characteristics.
文摘Since the volume transport across the pycnocline is much smaller than that in the mixed layer, the current in the mixed layer can be regarded as non-divergent. The modeled result is consistent with the current maps constructed by other oceanographers.
文摘-A two-dimensional.nonlinear numerical model is used to study the residual current generated by tides in the East China Sea (ECS)and the South Huanghai Sea (SHS). Some of the problems are discussed such as the cause of generating residual current and the contribution of the residual current to the observed current.
文摘It is of some limitations to analyse residual currents by means of the 25 h anchored current measurements. In addition, the influences of wind forcing to the residual current field are also suggested to be important.

文摘Iron-rich electrolytic manganese residue(IREMR)is an industrial waste produced during the processing of electrolytic metal manganese, and it contains certain amounts of Fe and Mn resources and other heavy metals. In this study, the slurry electrolysis technique was used to recover high-purity Fe powder from IREMR.The effects of IREMR and H2SO4 mass ratio, current density, reaction temper-ature,and electrolytic time on the leaching and current efficiencies of Fe were studied.According to the results,high-purity Fe powder can be recovered from the cathode plate, and the slurry electrolyte can be recycled. The leaching efficiency, current efficiency, and purity of Fe reached 92.58%,80.65%,and 98.72wt%,respectively,at a 1:2.5 mass ratio of H2SO4 and IREMR,reaction temperature of 60℃,electric current density of 30 mA/cm^(2),and reaction time of 8 h.In addition, vibrating sample magnetometer(VSM)analysis showed that the coercivity of electrolytic iron powder was 54.5 A/m,which reached the advanced magnetic grade of electrical pure-iron powder(DT4A coercivity standard). The slurry electrolytic method provides fundamental support for the industrial application of Fe resource recovery in IRMER.

文摘A 3-D unstructured-grid, finite-volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM) was used to study the tides and tidal currents in the Lianzhou Bay and adjacent areas. In Lianzhou Bay, there were two circulation systems, a cyclonic one at the top of the bay and an anti-cyclonic at the mouth.

文摘A three-dimensional (3-D) finite volume coastal ocean model (FVCOM) was used for the study of water cir culation and seawater exchange in the Benoa Bay, Bali Island. The mechanism of particle transport to the flushing of seawater is depicted clearly by both methods.
文摘Current data from three moored Acoustic Doppler Profilers (ADPs) deployed in the southern Yellow Sea at sites A (1-24.17°E, 34.82°N), B (122.82°E, 35.65°N) in summer 2001 and site C (120.85°E, 34.99°N) in summer 2003 were analyzed in this paper. Inertial motion contributed to the clockwise component of diurnal fluctuations; 2) The 3-5d fluctuation of residual current was found at site C and attributed to the response of current to meridional wind, with a lag time of approximately 1.8d; 3) Mean residual flows at sites A and B in 2001 probably suggested an anticyclonic inner circulation in the middle of the southern Yellow Sea in summer.
文摘In order to study current situation of application, recycling and residue pollution of mulching films in Xinjiang, and accurately grasp pollution degree of residue of mulching films, this paper made an empirical analysis on residue of mulching films in 31 typical counties and cities in Xinjiang. Residue of mulching films in cotton field is the key problem of pollution.
