BACKGROUND Composite tumors are neoplasms comprising two distinct,yet intermingling,cell populations.This paper reports a rare phenomenon where early gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma(SRCC)and gastric mucosa-associat...BACKGROUND Composite tumors are neoplasms comprising two distinct,yet intermingling,cell populations.This paper reports a rare phenomenon where early gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma(SRCC)and gastric mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT)lymphoma coexist within the same lesion.CASE SUMMARY A 40-year-old woman presented to the West China Hospital for examination,which revealed a whitish,shallow,and uneven mucosal lesion in the stomach.The lesion was diagnosed as a poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma,including SRCC with atypical lymphoid hyperplasia associated with Helicobacter pylori infection,based on histopathological examination of the biopsy specimen.The lesion was excised using segmental gastrectomy.However,histological exami-nation of the surgical specimen confirmed that it was a poorly differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma with features of SRCC and MALT lymphoma.These two entities were stage I and coexisted in the same lesion.CONCLUSION It is uncommon for gastric SRCC and MALT lymphoma to coexist without distinct borders.Surgical resection is effective for these lesions.展开更多
BACKGROUND Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)is a rare and life-threatening disease caused by inherited pathogenic mutations and acquired dysregulations of the immune system.Composite lymphoma is defined as two o...BACKGROUND Hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis(HLH)is a rare and life-threatening disease caused by inherited pathogenic mutations and acquired dysregulations of the immune system.Composite lymphoma is defined as two or more morphologically and immunophenotypically distinct lymphomas that occur in a single patient.Here,we report two cases of HLH secondary to composite lymphoma with mixed lineage features of T-and B-cell marker expression both in the bone marrow and lymph nodes in adult patients.CASE SUMMARY Two patients were diagnosed with HLH based on the occurrence of fever,pancytopenia,lymphadenopathy,splenomegaly,hemophagocytosis and hyperferritinemia.Immunohistochemical staining of the axillary lymph node and bone marrow in case 1 showed typical features of combined B-cell and T-cell lymphoma.In addition,a lymph node gene study revealed rearrangement of the T-cell receptor chain and the immunoglobulin gene.Morphology and immunohistochemistry studies of a lymph node biopsy in case 2 showed typical features of T cell lymphoma,but immunophenotyping by flow cytometry analysis of bone marrow aspirate showed B cell lymphoma involvement.The patients were treated with high-dose methylprednisolone combined with etoposide to control aggressive HLH progression.The patients also received immunochemotherapy with the R-CHOP(rituximab,cyclophosphamide,doxorubicin,vincristine,and prednisone)regimen immediately after diagnosis.Both patients presented with highly aggressive lymphoma,and died of severe infection or uncontrolled HLH.CONCLUSION We present two rare cases with overwhelming hemophagocytosis along with composite T-and B-cell lymphoma,which posed a diagnostic dilemma.HLH caused by composite lymphoma was characterized by poor clinical outcomes.展开更多
Reducing the cost of offshore platform construction is an urgent issue for marginal oilfield development.The offshore oil well structure includes a riser and a surface casing.The riser,surface casing and oil well ceme...Reducing the cost of offshore platform construction is an urgent issue for marginal oilfield development.The offshore oil well structure includes a riser and a surface casing.The riser,surface casing and oil well cement can be considered special variable cross-section piles.Replacing or partially replacing the steel pipe pile foundation with a variable cross-section pile to provide the required bearing capacity for an offshore oil platform can reduce the cost of foundation construction and improve the economic efficiency of production.In this paper,the finite element analysis method is used to investigate the variable cross-section bearing mode of composite piles composed of a riser and a surface casing in saturated clay under a vertical load.The calculation formula of the bearing capacity at the variable section is derived based on the theory of spherical cavity expansion,the influencing factors of the bearing capacity coefficient N_(c) are revealed,and the calculation method of N_(c) is proposed.By comparing the calculation results with the results of the centrifuge test,the accuracy and applicability of the calculation method are verified.The results show that the riser composite pile has a rigid core in the soil under the variable cross-section,which increases the bearing capacity at the variable cross-section.展开更多
BACKGROUND A palatal radicular groove is an unusual developmental deformity of the tooth,which may serve as a channel linking the periodontal and periapical inflammation,and yet no literature could be obtained analyzi...BACKGROUND A palatal radicular groove is an unusual developmental deformity of the tooth,which may serve as a channel linking the periodontal and periapical inflammation,and yet no literature could be obtained analyzing microbiota within the palatal radicular grooves.CASE SUMMARY Four patients diagnosed with palatal radicular groove and concomitant periodontal-endodontic deformity in permanent maxillary lateral incisors were enrolled in this work.Twelve bacterial samples from 4 patients were collected from different parts of the palatal radicular groove during intentional replantation surgery.Illumina sequencing was performed to analyze the taxonomical composition and microbiome structure inside the palatal grooves,and 1162 operational taxonomic units were obtained.The phyla of Firmicutes and Proteobacteria predominated in most of the samples.An unknown genus from the Bacillaceae family,Lactococcus,and Porphyromonas were the most abundant genera identified.There was no difference in the microbiota richness and diversity in three sections of the groove.CONCLUSION The unique ecological niches inside the palatal grooves harbored bacterial communities that shared some component features of both the endodontic and periodontal infections.The existence of palatal groove may play an interaction bridge between the root apex and tooth cervix and thus impair the outcome of traditional therapeutic methods such as root canal treatment and periodontal management.展开更多
BACKGROUND Focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH)and hepatocellular adenoma(HCA)are wellknown benign liver lesions.Surgical treatment is usually chosen for symptomatic patients,lesions more than 5 cm,and uncertainty of diagno...BACKGROUND Focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH)and hepatocellular adenoma(HCA)are wellknown benign liver lesions.Surgical treatment is usually chosen for symptomatic patients,lesions more than 5 cm,and uncertainty of diagnosis.CASE SUMMARY We described the case of a large liver composite tumor in an asymptomatic 34-year-old female under oral contraceptive for 17-years.The imaging work-out described two components in this liver tumor;measuring 6 cm×6 cm and 14 cm×12 cm×6 cm.The multidisciplinary team suggested surgery for this young woman with an unclear HCA diagnosis.She underwent a laparoscopic left liver lobectomy,with an uneventful postoperative course.Final pathological examination confirmed FNH associated with a large HCA.This manuscript aimed to make a literature review of the current management in this particular situation of large simultaneous benign liver tumors.CONCLUSION The simultaneous presence of benign composite liver tumors is rare.This case highlights the management in a multidisciplinary team setting.展开更多

It is unfeasible to carry out all the test cases consistently. For this reason, the test cases are picked and prioritize it. The major goal of test case prioritization is to prioritize the test case sequence and finds faults as early as possible to improve the efficiency. Regression testing is used to ensure the validity and the enhancement part of the changed software. In this paper, we propose a new path compression technique (PCUA) for both old version and new version of BPEL dataset. In order to analyze the enhancement part of an application and to find an error in an enhancement part of an application, center of the tree has been calculated. Moreover in the comparative analysis, our proposed PCUA- COT technique is compared with the existing XPFG technique in terms of time consuming and error detection in the path of an enhancement part of BPEL dataset. The experimental results have been shown that our proposed work is better than the existing technique in terms of time consuming and error detection.展开更多
