Knowledge mapping of research on sustainable utilization of landscape resources:a case study of Guilin National Innovation Demonstration Zone for sustainable development in China

Worldwide interest has increasingly focused on the sustainable utilization of landscape as a resource in urban areas,emphasizing its ecological,cultural and social significance.This study examines Guilin City,China,as a representative case study due to its rich landscape resources and status as a national innovation demonstration zone for implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.This study uses bibliometric visualization tools like CiteSpace and VOSviewer to analyze research trends from 1980 to 2021 in the Chinese Academic Journal Network Publishing Database(CNKI).The results show increasing academic interest over three stages:initiation(1982-1997),exploration(1998-2004),and diversified development(2005-2021).Contributions are predominantly from local academic and tourism sectors,indicating a strong regional influence;however,relatively weak interinstitutional collaboration occurs,suggesting potential for more integrated research efforts.Primary research is also concentrated within economic disciplines,particularly tourism-related ones.The evolution of research frontiers reveals three main paths:urban development strategies,industrial economic theories and empirical validation,and ecosystem analysis and evaluation.A multidisciplinary approach and stronger collaborative efforts are crucial to enhance research on ecological values and empirical models while supporting evidence-based urban development strategies in Guilin City and comparable cities globally.

Value Composition and Optimal Utilization of Religious Cultural Landscape Resources

Multiple value structure of religious cultural landscape resources influences and determines development and regulation of cultural landscape resources. In the multiple value structure consisting of cultural inheritance, spiritual needs, industrial expansion, leisure and entertainment, development and utilization of religious cultural landscape resources should adhere to scientific classification, relatively independent policy orientation, make and implement specific countermeasures, so as to meet various requirements of the public and other relevant subjects using more refined and improved policy measures, and to realize the optimal utilization and comprehensive value of religious cultural landscapes.

Survey of Ecotourism Landscape Resources and Shrub Landscape Resources in Western Sichuan Mountains

As a high-end tourism activity advocating back to nature and protecting the nature,ecotourism has won increasing attention in recent years home and abroad.Being endowed with outstanding topographical and natural landscape resources,Sichuan has been a major ecotourism province in China.Particularly,western Sichuan mountains is more scarcely populated area with great topographical fluctuations,thus it is more suitable for developing ecotourism activities than eastern Sichuan.Based on previous researches and statistical analysis,this paper reviewed the overall situation of ecotourism landscape resources in western Sichuan mountains,including its geomorphological landforms,hydrographic landscapes,biological landscapes,meteorological and climatic landscapes.More importantly,in view of the blank area found in the statistical analysis,the paper analyzed the shrub landscapes on the basis of fi eld investigation,to support further research on the development and utilization of local ecotourism resources.

Evaluation and reasonable exploitation on the natural view resources of Lushan Mountain scenic spot

The paper carried on the classified and rating evaluation primarily on natural landscape resources in Lushan Mountain. According to the evaluation, exploiting and utilizing the situation of scenic spot natural landscape resources, some reasonable advices were given on further exploiting Lushan Mountain natural scenic spot, expecting that it could supply some theoretical references for the natural landscape resources sustainable development in Lushan Mountain in the future.

Envisioning Landscape Justice:Interdisciplinary Dialogue,Collaboration,and Exploration

As an extension of environmental justice,landscape justice emphasizes achieving inclusive and equitable planning and design in both built and natural environments,allowing different social groups to enjoy and share landscape resources and benefits more equally.By endowing landscape design with a“just”orientation,landscape justice significantly improves the spatial and environmental benefits while promotes the process of environmental justice.Landscape justice is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature,showing great variability in spatio-temporal scales,site dimensions and attributes,and social groups and scenarios,the research of which urgently requires in-depth dialogues,sincere collaborations,and active explorations among multiple disciplines.We call for enriching the connotation of landscape justice through interdisciplinary perspectives and addressing practical issues,to provide innovative spatial propositions and paths for creating sustainable urban environments and landscapes.
