Evaluation of the Functionality of the Networking of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights Services in the Event of Gender-Based Violence in the Commune of Kpomasse in 2022

Introduction: In developing countries, gender-based violence (GBV) is a real public health problem. In Benin, GBV affects the majority of women and girls (69%). Benin has implemented strategies and set up integrated centers for the management of violence in order to reduce cases of violence and ensure the holistic management of victims. The objective of our study was to assess the functionality of the network of sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) in case of GBV in the commune of Kpomasse in 2022. Method: This descriptive and evaluative study was conducted from March 21 to April 11, 2022. The sampling method used was non-probabilistic. Reasoned choice and convenience were the techniques used for the different targets of the study. The functionality of the SRHR service network was assessed first by calculating scores at the structure, process and outcome levels, and then by analysis using the human rights-based approach. Results: Out of the 34 GBV victims identified, only one had received a full response and 54% of the victims had no knowledge of SRHR. The lack of knowledge about health care facilities was 41% for victims and 80% for non-victims in the community who participated in the study. In the case of gender-based violence, the community preferred to settle out of court rather than report it. The functionality of the networking of sexual and reproductive health rights services in the event of the occurrence of gender-based violence in the commune of Kpomassè is insufficient. Lack of knowledge of the roles of rights holders (DD) and duty bearers (DO) explains the insufficient functionality of networking. Conclusion: Training of SRHR service agents and community sensitization are essential to improve the functionality of SRHR service networking in the commune of Kpomasse.

The time-honored traditional Chinese minben(people-based) thinking has rich implications for human rights. The concepts of min and minben are much in line with their contemporary counterparts of "human" and "people orientation". Upholding the belief of "people as the foundation of states", minben advocates the fundamental political status of the people, and requires leaders to implement "people-oriented" policies. Its encapsulation of the theoretical foundation and basic requirements for the protection of human rights enabled it to promote the protection of people’s livelihoods and civil rights in ancient China. Its sublimation in contemporary China has had, and will continue to have, a far-reaching impact on the development of human rights in China.

An In-depth Interpretation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights With the Common Values of Humanity As the Research Paradigm

Interpreting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights from political,juridical and philosophical perspectives is es-sential for promoting the guiding principles of the Declaration,build-ing consensus on human rights,and advancing human rights practice in the new historical context.To conduct an academic,systematic in-terpretation of the Declaration that conforms to the trends of the times and answers the fundamental questions of the world,it is necessary to find a new research paradigm.The common values of humanity,namely peace,development,equity,justice,democracy and freedom,put forward by Xi Jinping,general secretary of the Communist Party of China(CPC)Central Committee,provide the most explanatory and penetrating scientific paradigm for reaching the issue.This paper an-alyzes and reflects on the views,value foundation and principled(con-tractual)consensus of human rights in the Declaration,and narrates and foresees the far-reaching significance of the three global initia-tives(namely,the Global Development Initiative,the Global Security Initiative,and the Global Civilization Initiative)with the common val-ues of humanity as the soul in advancing the modernization of global human rights governance and building a new form of human rights civilization.

A 330-500 GHz Zero-Biased Broadband Tripler Based on Terahertz Monolithic Integrated Circuits

A 330-500 GHz zero-biased broadband monolithic integrated tripler is reported. The measured results show that the maximum efficiency and the maximum output power are 2% and 194μW at 348 GHz. The saturation characteristic test shows that the output i dB compression point is about -8.5 dBm at 334 GHz and the maximum efficiency is obtained at the point, which is slightly below the 1 dB compression point. Compared with the conventional hybrid integrated circuit, a major advantage of the monolithic integrated circuit is the significant improvement of reliability and consistency. In this work, a terahertz monolithic frequency multiplier at this band is designed and fabricated.

Operator-Based Robust Nonlinear Control for SISO and MIMO Nonlinear Systems With PI Hysteresis

In this paper, operator based robust nonlinear control for single-input single-output(SISO) and multi-input multi-output(MIMO) nonlinear uncertain systems preceded by generalized Prandtl-Ishlinskii(PI) hysteresis is considered respectively. In detail, by using operator based robust right coprime factorization approach, the control system design structures including feedforward and feedback controllers for both SISO and MIMO nonlinear uncertain systems are given, respectively.In which, the controller design includes the information of PI hysteresis and its inverse, and some sufficient conditions for the controllers in both SISO and MIMO systems should be satisfied are also derived respectively. Based on the proposed conditions, influence from hysteresis is rejected, the systems are robustly stable and output tracking performance can be realized.Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is confirmed by numerical simulations.

Applying calculation method in alloy design should be an important tendency due to its characters of inexpensive cost, high efficiency and prediction. DOS calculations of AuSn, AsSn and SbSn Sn- based alloys have been investigated by employing DV - Xa method, in which different cluster models were adopted to calculate electron structure.It is proved that some regulations must be taken into ac- count in order to carry out alloy design calculation successfully,which are described in this paper in detail.

Preparation and the Pore Structure of Viscose-based Activated Carbon Fibers Treated with Pretreatment Reagents

The viscose rayon was pretreated with four different pre-treatment reagents respectively, and the preparation ofactivated carbon fibers (ACF) was performed undersame carbonizing and activating conditions. The poresize distribution, the specific surface area, and the porestructure parameter of these viscose - based ACF werestudied by using quartz spring balance BET- weightmethod. The experiment result indicates that the poresize distribution and the pore structure parameter ofACF is varied by using different pretreatment reagents.

The Environmental Human Rights under the Perspective of Basic Rights--An Analysis of the dilemma Facing the legalization of environmental Rights

Given the dilemma facing legalization on environmental rights, it is necessary to re-examine the nature and function of environmental human rights under the theoretical system of basic rights. Its justification approach follows a logical chain from a rights-based approach to basic rights. The difficulty in legalizing environmental rights reflects the disputes over the basis for environmental law. Reconstructing the right-based approach in environmental law can justify the rights-oriented path to the environmental rule of law. On July 22, 2014, the second group of national human rights education and train- ing bases was announced,increasing the number of national bases from the previous three to a total of eight, which reflects the advancement of human rights education and ~aining in China and has far-reaching significance.

非酒精性脂肪性肝病患者C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4水平与肝纤维化发生的相关性

目的分析非酒精性脂肪性肝病(NAFLD)患者改良肝尾状叶/右叶比值(C/RL-r)、天门冬氨酸氨基转移酶与血小板比值指数(APRI)、基于4因子的纤维化指数(FIB-4)与肝纤维化发生的相关性。方法选择2021年2月至2022年12月在保定市第一中心医院治疗的NAFLD患者153例,根据病理学结果,将患者分为无肝纤维化组81例、肝纤维化组72例。行MRI扫描检测C/RL-r;计算APRI、FIB-4水平;分析NAFLD患者实验室指标、C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4水平与发生肝纤维化的相关性,发生肝纤维化的独立危险因素及C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4对NAFLD患者发生肝纤维化的预测价值。结果肝纤维化组ALT、AST、TBil、GGT、TG、C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4水平显著高于无肝纤维化组,分别为(42.32±10.21)U/L比(36.21±7.78)U/L、(45.36±8.72)U/L比(27.45±5.40)U/L、(13.52±3.65)μmol/L比(12.24±2.16)μmol/L、(60.53±13.41)U/L比(53.69±12.44)U/L、(1.99±0.53)mmol/L比(1.05±0.33)mmol/L、(1.15±0.12)比(0.92±0.09)、(0.52±0.15)比(0.32±0.10)、(1.47±0.47)比(0.94±0.30),高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(HDL-C)水平显著低于无肝纤维化组为(1.03±0.26)mmol/L比(1.32±0.45)mmol/L,(t=4.189、15.453、2.674、3.272、13.322、13.501、4.302、8.405、4.801,均P<0.05);NAFLD患者ALT、AST、TG、C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4与发生肝纤维化呈正相关(r=0.531、0.435、0.571、0.605、0.771、0.716,均P<0.001);ALT、AST、TG、C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4水平高是影响NAFLD患者发生肝纤维化的独立危险因素(P<0.05);C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4、三者联合预测NAFLD患者发生肝纤维化的曲线下面积(AUC)分别为0.767、0.830、0.754、0.936;相较于C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4单独预测的AUC,三者联合预测的AUC更高(Z=4.495、3.999、4.677,均P<0.001)。结论发生肝纤维化的NAFLD患者C/RL-r、APRI、FIB-4水平较高,三者联合检测对NAFLD患者发生肝纤维化具有较高预测价值。

Biological Evaluation of New Schiff Bases: Synthesized from 4-Amino-3,5-dimethyl-1,2,4-triazole, Phenathroline and Bipyridine Dicarboxaldehydes

Four new Schiff bases with promising anticancer activity have been synthesized from 4-amino-3,5-dimethyl-1,2,4-triazole and di-pyridyl-aldehydes. Structures have been established by various spectroscopic methods. The compounds were tested in vitro to study their cytotoxicity and anti-oxidative activity in human lung carcinoma (A549), breast carcinoma (BT549), prostate adenocarcinoma (PC3) and mouse preadipocytes (3T3-L1) cells. Compound 1 was found to increase Glutathione (GSH) level slightly in all four cell lines. Compound 4 showed better selectivity and cytotoxicity against both BT549 and A549 cells compared to the anticancer drug tamoxifen. With the exception of compound 4 which reduced GSH levels in A549 and BT549, all other compounds maintained GSH levels in comparison to their respective controls.

Research Priorities for Addressing Gender Based Violence in the WHO Africa Region

Background: There is an increasing emphasis on conducting research to identify gender based violence issues to enable development of appropriate programs and interventions. However, these efforts are mixed in quality and often raise ethical questions. The increased pressure on policy makers to move to a more evidence-based approach in addressing gender based issues creates the need for this research prioritization activity. Inadequate evaluative evidence in this area poses a challenge in the planning for responsive interventions especially in resource limited settings. The purpose of this paper is to present gender based violence research priority areas for the WHO Africa Region. Methods: We utilized a modified version of the Child Health and Nutrition Research Initiative approach to reach consensus on research priorities on the thematic area of gender based violence. In three phases, we first conducted an online survey with sexual and reproductive health and rights experts in academia, ministries of health, non-governmental organizations and other health actors with a wide range of experiences. These questions were consolidated by three experts from World Health Organization headquarters into themes. Secondly, experts were invited in a meeting in Cape Town South Africa to analyze and generate relevant areas of research based on the themes. Finally, a smaller group of experts prioritized research areas based on agreed criteria. Results: A list of 10 priority research questions for addressing gender based violence were scored and ranked. Four priority research questions scored 30 points out of the possible 30 points and were thus ranked as the highest priority. These included questions that “engage young adolescents in behavioral interventions to influence gender roles”, “determinants of gender based violence analysis”, “both long and short term complications of gender based violence on survivors” and “assessment of men’s involvement in addressing gender-based violence against women”. The second most highly ranked question was on the assessment of the extent and strategies to prevent gender-based violence in the context of humanitarian crises. Conclusions: Priority research questions for addressing gender based violence were identified. This exercise provides a three year investment case for research with high potential of effectively identifying interventions with high impact on addressing gender based violence.
