However, the precise theoretical formulae of rolling force and rolling moment are still very fewer, and the determination of them depends on experience. In the present study, the mathematical models of rolling force and rolling moment are established based on stress field theory of slip-line. And the isotropic hardening is used to improve the yield criterion. Based on MATLAB program language environment, calculation program is developed according to mathematical models established. The rolling force and rolling moment could be predicted quickly via the calculation program, and then the reliability of the models is validated by FEM. Within the range of module of spline m=0.5-1.5 mm, pressure angle of reference circle α=30.0°-45.0°, and number of spline teeth Z=19-54, the rolling force and rolling moment in rolling process (finishing rolling is excluded) are researched by means of virtualizing orthogonal experiment design. The results of the present study indicate that: the influences of module and number of spline teeth on the maximum rolling force and rolling moment in the process are remarkable; in the case of pressure angle of reference circle is little, module of spline is great, and number of spline teeth is little, the peak value of rolling force in rolling process may appear in the midst of the process; the peak value of rolling moment in rolling process appears in the midst of the process, and then oscillator weaken to a stable value. The results of the present study may provide guidelines for the determination of power of the motor and the design of hydraulic system of special machine, and provide basis for the farther researches on the precise forming process of external spline cold rolling.展开更多

S. 0.5, S.S. 5.0 and S. S. 7.0 of series 60 with CB = 0.6 are chosen for the simulation. It shows that the result of MPS is very close to results of experiments or mesh-numerical simulations. In the simulation of MPS, vortices are found periodically in bilges of ship sections. In section S. S. 5.0 and section S. S. 0.5, which is close to the bow, only one big vortex is found at the bottom of the section, these vortices patterns are consistent with the theory of Ikeda. The distribution of shear stress and pressure on the rolling hull of ship section is calculated. When vortices are in bilges of the section, the sign clmnge of pressure can be found, but in section S. S. 0.5, there is no sign change of pressure because only one vortex in the bottom of the section. With shear stress distribution, it can be found the shear stress in bilges is bigger than that at other part of the ship section. As the free surface is considered, the shear stress of both sides near the free surface is close to zero and even sign changed.展开更多

At present, some methods, such as vibration method and acoustic method, have been applied for measuring the fill level by the researchers. Aiming at the problem of the traditional methods for measuring the fill level, that is, the feature variables of the fill level suffer the influences of the ball load and the water content of the coal, a novel method to measure the fill level is proposed and a possible relation between the fill level and the angular position of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell is investigated. The angular positions of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell for different fill level cases are calculated theoretically under two assumptions, respectively. Meanwhile the charge motions of the mill for different fill level cases are simulated with the discrete element method (DEM). And the simulation results are verified by comparing the motion trajectories of steel balls and power draft of the mill. The simulated movement trajectories of the outmost layer steel balls in the mill are monitored and analyzed to obtain the angular positions of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell. Both the results of the theoretical calculation and the 3D DEM simulation show that the position of the maximum vibration point on the mill shell moves to a lower angular positions as the fill level decreasing, which provides a new idea for measuring the filllevel accurately.展开更多

Large cylindrical shell rolling is a typical rotary forming technology, and the upper and lower rolls have different radii and speeds. To quickly predict the three-dimensional stresses and eliminate fishtail defect, an improved strip layer method is developed, in which the asymmetry of the upper and lower rolls, non-uniform deformation and stress, as well as the asymmetrical spread on the end surface are considered. The deformation zone is divided into a certain number of layers and strips along the thickness and width, respectively. The transverse displacement model is constructed by polynomial function, in order to increase the computation speed greatly. From the metal plastic mechanics principle, the three-dimensional stress models are established. The genetic algorithm is used for optimization calculation in an industrial experiment example. The results show that the rolling pressure, the normal stresses, the upper and lower friction stress distributions are not similar with those of a general plate rolling. There are two relative maximum values in rolling pressure distribution. The upper and lower longitudinal friction stresses change direction nearby the upper and lower neutral points, respectively. The fishtail profile of spread on the end surface is predicted satisfactorily. The reduction could be helpful to eliminate fishtail defect. The large cylindrical shell rolling example illustrates the calculation results acquired rapidly are good agreements with the finite element simulation and experimental values of previous study. A highly effective and reliable three-dimensional simulation method is proposed for large cylindrical shell rolling and other asymmetrical rolling.展开更多

We adopt a 6-DOF weakly nonlinear time domain model to predict the ship motions of parametric rolling conditions. Unlike previous flare slamming analysis, our proposed method takes roll motion into account to calculate the impact angle and relative vertical velocity between ship sections on the bow flare and wave surface. We use the Wagner model to analyze the slamming impact forces and the slamming occurrence probability. Through numerical simulations, we investigate the maximum flare slamming pressures of a container ship for different speeds and wave conditions. To further clarify the mechanism of flare slamming phenomena in parametric rolling conditions, we also conduct real-time simulations to determine the relationship between slamming pressure and 3-DOF motions, namely roll, pitch, and heave.展开更多

However, extreme deformation cannot be solved by the finite element method in splitting rolling. The reproducing kernel particle method can solve this problem because the continuum body is discretized by a set of nodes, and a finite element mesh is unnecessary, and there is no explicit limitation of mesh when the metal is split. To ensure stability in the large deformation elastoplastic analysis, the Lagrange material shape function was introduced. The transformation method was utilized to impose the essential boundary conditions. The splitting rolling method was simulated and the simulation results were in accordance with the experimental ones in the literature.展开更多

The conductive collars make the EMD device more effective than the nonconductive collars.

文摘Under the hypotheses that the second-order and third-order derivatives of a function are bounded, an estimate of the radius of the convergence ball of Ostrowski-Traub's method is obtained. An error analysis is given which matches the convergence order of the method. Finally, two examples are provided to show applications of our theorem.

文摘As the traditional forging process has many problems such as low efficiency, high consumption of material and energy, large cylindrical shell rolling is introduced. A highly effective and reliable three-dimensional simulation method is proposed for large cylindrical shell rolling and other asymmetrical rolling.

文摘Since the research of flare slamming prediction is seldom when parametric rolling happens, we present an efficient approximation method for flare slamming analysis of large container ships in parametric rolling conditions. To further clarify the mechanism of flare slamming phenomena in parametric rolling conditions, we also conduct real-time simulations to determine the relationship between slamming pressure and 3-DOF motions, namely roll, pitch, and heave.

文摘During splitting rolling simulation, re-meshing is necessary to prevent the effect of severe mesh distortion when the conventional finite element method is used. The splitting rolling method was simulated and the simulation results were in accordance with the experimental ones in the literature.
文摘A local convergence theorem and five semi-local convergence theorems of the secant method are listed in this paper. For every convergence theorem, a convergence ball is respectively introduced, where the hypothesis conditions of the corresponding theorem can be satisfied. Since all of these convergence balls have the same center x^*, they can be viewed as a homocentric ball. Convergence theorems are sorted by the different sizes of various radii of this homocentric ball, and the sorted sequence represents the degree of weakness on the conditions of convergence theorems.

文摘In view of the TIN_DDM buffer surface existing in the construction and application of special data type, algorithm efficiency and precision are not matching;the paper applied the rolling ball model in the process of TIN_DDM buffer surface construction.Based on the precision limitation analysis of rolling ball model, the overall precision control method of rolling ball model has been established.Considering the efficiency requirement of TIN_DDM buffer surface construction, the influence principle of key sampling points and rolling ball radius to TIN_DDM buffer surface construction efficiency has been elaborated, and the rule of identifying key sampling points has also been designed.Afterwards,by erecting the numerical relationship between key sampling points and rolling ball radius,a TIN_DDM buffer surface construction algorithm based on rolling ball acceleration optimization model has been brought forward. The time complexity of the algorithm is O(n).The experiments show that the algorithm could realize the TIN_DDM buffer surface construction with high efficiency, and the algorithm precision is controlled with in 2σ.
