In 1987, Alavi,Malde, Schwenk and Erd os conjectured that the independence polynomial of any tree or forest is unimodal.Although this unimodality conjecture has attracted many researchers’ attention, it is still open. Recently, Basit and Galvin even asked a much stronger question whether the independence polynomial of every tree is ordered log-concave. Note that if a polynomial has only negative real zeros then it is ordered log-concave and unimodal.In this paper, we observe real-rootedness of independence polynomials of rooted products of graphs. We find some trees whose rooted product preserves real-rootedness of independence polynomials. In consequence, starting from any graph whose independence polynomial has only real zeros, we can obtain an infinite family of graphs whose independence polynomials have only real zeros. Artificial vegetation restoration is the main measure for vegetation restoration and soil and water conservation in alpine mine dumps on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,China.However,there are few reports on the dynamic cha...Artificial vegetation restoration is the main measure for vegetation restoration and soil and water conservation in alpine mine dumps on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau,China.However,there are few reports on the dynamic changes and the influencing factors of the soil reinforcement effect of plant species after artificial vegetation restoration under different recovery periods.We selected dump areas of the Delni Copper Mine in Qinghai Province,China to study the relationship between the shear strength and the peak displacement of the root-soil composite on the slope during the recovery period,and the influence of the root traits and soil physical properties on the shear resistance characteristics of the root-soil composite via in situ direct shear tests.The results indicate that the shear strength and peak displacement of the rooted soil initially decreased and then increased with the increase of the recovery period.The shear strength of the rooted soil and the recovery period exhibited a quadratic function relationship.There is no significant function relationship between the peak displacement and the recovery period.Significant positive correlations(P<0.05)exists between the shear strength of the root-soil composite and the root biomass density,root volume density,and root area ratio,and they show significant linear correlations(P<0.05).There are no significant correlations(P>0.05)between the shear strength of the root-soil composite and the root length density,and the root volume ratio of the coarse roots to the fine roots.A significant negative linear correlation(P<0.05)exists between the peak displacement of the rooted soil and the coarse-grain content,but no significant correlations(P>0.05)with the root traits,other soil physical property indices(the moisture content and dry density of the soil),and slope gradient.The coarse-grain content is the main factor controlling the peak displacement of the rooted soil.展开更多

The integration of wind turbines(WTs)in variable speed drive systems belongs to the main factors causing lowstability in electrical networks.Therefore,in order to avoid this issue,WTs hybridization with a storage syst...The integration of wind turbines(WTs)in variable speed drive systems belongs to the main factors causing lowstability in electrical networks.Therefore,in order to avoid this issue,WTs hybridization with a storage system is a mandatory.This paper investigates WT system operating at variable speed.The system contains of a permanent magnet synchronous generator(PMSG)supported by a battery storage system(BSS).To enhance the quality of active and reactive power injected into the network,direct power control(DPC)scheme utilizing space-vector modulation(SVM)technique based on proportional-integral(PI)control is proposed.Meanwhile,to improve the rendition of this method(DPC-SVM-PI),the rooted tree optimization technique(RTO)algorithm-based controller parameter identification is used to achieve PI optimal gains.To compare the performance ofRTO-based controllers,they were implemented and tested along with some other popular controllers under different working conditions.The obtained results have shown the supremacy of the suggested PIRTO algorithm compared to competing controllers regarding total harmonic distortion(THD),overshoot percentage,settling time,rise time,average active power value,overall efficiency,and active power steadystate error.展开更多
In order to improve our knowledge of the mechanical effect of the roots of mixed-plantings on soil reinforcement and slope protection,the influence of roots of a mixed-planting with four herb species(Medicago sativa L...In order to improve our knowledge of the mechanical effect of the roots of mixed-plantings on soil reinforcement and slope protection,the influence of roots of a mixed-planting with four herb species(Medicago sativa L.,Elymus nutans Griseb.,Puccinellia distanx(L.),and Poa pratensis L.)and one shrub species(Caragana korshinskii Kom.)were investigated on the shear strength characteristics of saline loess soil.The root distribution characteristics were assessed via a survey when the plants grew for one year.The effects of the root biomass density,the root mass ratio(RMR)of the fine roots to the coarse roots,the moisture content,and the salt content on the shear strength index of the rooted soil were analyzed via a triaxial compression test,and the mechanism of these effects was discussed.The results indicate that the biomass density decreased linearly with increasing depth.The RMR initially decreased with depth and then increased,exhibiting in a quadratic relationship.The cohesion of the rooted soil increased linearly as the biomass density increased.The cohesion of the rooted soil initially increased with increasing RMR and salt content,and then it decreased.The turning point of the cohesion occurred when the RMR was 0.6 and the salt content was 1.18%.The internal friction angle of the rooted soil initially increased with biomass density and then decreased,and the turning point of the internal friction angle occurred when the biomass density was 0.015 g/cm3.The relationships between the internal friction angle of the rooted soil and the RMR and salt content were exponential incremental and linear subtractive relationship,respectively.Both the cohesion and the internal friction angle of the rooted soil linearly decreased with increasing moisture content.展开更多

It faces wave attack and tidal action less than that of Un-rooted region) and Un-rooted region (It is closest to river shore and faces maximum wave attack and tidal action;it contains minimum organic carbon but maximum soil salinity and silicate concentration. This zone is totally devoid of any roots, pneumatophores and vegetations) of Sundarban mangrove forest ecosystem, India revealed an interesting explanation. Soil urease activity showed a decreasing pattern with increase in depth from the deep forest region of the Sundarban forest ecosystem. Soil urease activity was found to be more sensitive to soil temperature and pH rather than soil salinity. This ensured that soil urease along with the microbes present in the Sundarban forest ecosystem are more tolerant to fluctuation in salinity than that of temperature. The methods are derived through the application of order and stability conditions normally associated with Runge-Kutta methods;the derived methods are further tested for consistency and stability, a necessary requirement for convergence of any numerical scheme;they are shown to satisfy the criteria for both consistency and stability;hence their convergence is guaranteed. Numerical experiments carried out further justified the efficiency of the methods.展开更多
In order to provide theoretical basis and technical support for the afforestation and artificial water supply of P.szechuanica in arid areas,the characteristics of water consumption of P.szechuanica were explored,and ...In order to provide theoretical basis and technical support for the afforestation and artificial water supply of P.szechuanica in arid areas,the characteristics of water consumption of P.szechuanica were explored,and the law of water demand of P.szechuanica was grasped.In this paper,potted seedlings of 1-0 rooted cuttings of P.szechuanica were taken as research objects,and change situation of water consumption under different water control gradients was measured regularly by using weighing method,further analyzing dynamic change of water consumption of P.szechuanica and revealing water demand law of 1-0 rooted cuttings of P.szechuanica.The results showed that total change of water consumption of 1-0 rooted cuttings of P.szechuanica had"slow-fast-slow-fast"double-peak trend in the growth period of the current year,and corresponded with univariate linear relation(R^(2)=0.7137),with significant difference.In whole growth period,water consumption in August was the highest,which was 2.7 times of that in June and July and 1.5 times of that after September.In different water control treatments,the dynamic changes of daily and monthly water consumption were significantly different.In seven water control treatments,monthly water consumption was between(6315.95±1690.70)and(10105.28±3065.30)g/month,and mean was(8211.07±2308.23)g/month.With intensification of water control treatment,water consumption increased,but there was no seedling death due to water shortage.P.szechuanica has great plasticity in water demand,and can survive in both arid and humid environments.Meanwhile,it is revealed that P.szechuanica is the most widely distributed tree species in the region.展开更多

This study was conducted to determine the compatibility of ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi associated with eucalypts on dipterocarps. Two nodal cuttings of Shorea contorta (Vid.) were rooted in a non-mist system for two m...This study was conducted to determine the compatibility of ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi associated with eucalypts on dipterocarps. Two nodal cuttings of Shorea contorta (Vid.) were rooted in a non-mist system for two months, and later inoculated with vegetative mycelia of three strains of Pisolithus collected under eucalypts and a strain of Scleroderma from dipterocarps. Inoculated rooted cuttings were planted in irradiated potting mix and raised in the nursery for five months. Root colonization prior to outplanting ranged from 31% to 38% and ECM fungi did not colonize the uninoculated ones. The cuttings were outplanted in a logged-over dipterocarp forest in Bislig, Surigao Sur following a Randomized Complete Block Design with four blocks;each block was planted with 50 seedlings. Two years after outplanting, Pisolithus strain from New Caledonia (H6394) promoted the highest height (46 cm) and diameter (0.48 cm) increment. Height was increased by 17% and diameter by 7% relative to the uninoculated control. By contrast, Pisolithus strain from the Philippines (H615) gave the shortest (26 cm) height increment and smallest (0.42 cm) diameter. Diameter growth of cuttings inoculated with Scleroderma D01 (from the Philippines) and a Pisolithus strain from Australia (H445) was bigger (0.47 cm) than the uninoculated treated cuttings (0.45 cm). In terms of survival, the uninoculated cuttings gave the highest (90%) percent survival while the lowest (60%) was those inoculated with Pisolithus strain from New Caledonia. It is possible that the indigenous ECM fungi infected easily the roots of the uninoculated cuttings thus contributing to the high survival rate (90%). During outplanting, fruit bodies of S. columnare were present in the field site. The results, however, show that ECM fungi were able to colonize the roots and that some strains promoted the growth and survival of S. contorta planted in a logged-over dipterocarp forest in Bislig, Surigao, Philippines.展开更多
The static drill rooted nodular pile is a new type of pile foundation consisting of precast nodular pile and the surrounding cemented soil.This composite pile has a relatively high bearing capacity and the mud polluti...The static drill rooted nodular pile is a new type of pile foundation consisting of precast nodular pile and the surrounding cemented soil.This composite pile has a relatively high bearing capacity and the mud pollution will be largely reduced during the construction process by using this type of pile.In order to investigate the bearing capacity and load transfer mechanism of this pile,a group of experiments were conducted to provide a comparison between this new pile and the bored pile.The axial force of a precast nodular pile was also measured by the strain gauges installed on the pile to analyze the distribution of the axial force of the nodular pile and the skin friction supported by the surrounding soil,then 3D models were built by using the ABAQUS finite element program to investigate the load transfer mechanism of this composite pile in detail.By combining the results of field tests and the finite element method,the outcome showed that the bearing capacity of a static drill rooted nodular pile is higher than the bored pile,and that this composite pile will form a double stress dispersion system which will not only confirm the strength of the pile,but also make the skin friction to be fully mobilized.The settlement of this composite pile is mainly controlled by the precast nodular pile;meanwhile,the nodular pile and the surrounding cemented soil can be considered as deformation compatibility during the loading process.The nodes on the nodular pile play an important role during the load transfer process,the shear strength of the interface between the cemented soil and the soil of the static drill rooted pile is larger than that of the bored pile.展开更多

These structures can also be derived from actions of suitable linear operators, such as a Rota-Baxter operator or TD operator, on an associative algebra. Mo- tivated by finding a five-part splitting of the associativity, we consider the Rota-Baxter TD (RBTD) operator, an operator combining the Rota-Baxter operator and TD oper- ator, and coming from a recent study of Rota's problem concerning linear operators on associative algebras. Free RBTD algebras on rooted forests are constructed. We then introduce the concept of a quinquedendriform algebra and show that its defining relations are characterized by the action of an RBTD operator, similar to the cases of dendriform and tridendriform algebras.展开更多

文摘In order to improve our knowledge of the mechanical effect of the roots of mixed-plantings on soil reinforcement and slope protection,the influence of roots of a mixed-planting with four herb species(Medicago sativa L.,Elymus nutans Griseb.,Puccinellia distanx(L.),and Poa pratensis L.)and one shrub species(Caragana korshinskii Kom.)were investigated on the shear strength characteristics of saline loess soil.The root distribution characteristics were assessed via a survey when the plants grew for one year.The effects of the root biomass density,the root mass ratio(RMR)of the fine roots to the coarse roots,the moisture content,and the salt content on the shear strength index of the rooted soil were analyzed via a triaxial compression test,and the mechanism of these effects was discussed.The results indicate that the biomass density decreased linearly with increasing depth.The RMR initially decreased with depth and then increased,exhibiting in a quadratic relationship.The cohesion of the rooted soil increased linearly as the biomass density increased.The cohesion of the rooted soil initially increased with increasing RMR and salt content,and then it decreased.The turning point of the cohesion occurred when the RMR was 0.6 and the salt content was 1.18%.The internal friction angle of the rooted soil initially increased with biomass density and then decreased,and the turning point of the internal friction angle occurred when the biomass density was 0.015 g/cm3.The relationships between the internal friction angle of the rooted soil and the RMR and salt content were exponential incremental and linear subtractive relationship,respectively.Both the cohesion and the internal friction angle of the rooted soil linearly decreased with increasing moisture content.
文摘Vertical occurrence of soil urease activity along with ammonia content from three distinct regions viz. Deep forest region (No tidal action and wave attack occurs as it is furthest from river shore and it contains maximum content of organic carbon and minimum soil salinity and silicate concentration. In this zone plenty of pneumatophores, below ground root and dense vegetation are found), Rooted region (It is situated in between Deep forest region and Un-rooted region. This region contains only pneumatophores but it is devoid of long roots and vegetations. It faces wave attack and tidal action less than that of Un-rooted region) and Un-rooted region (It is closest to river shore and faces maximum wave attack and tidal action;it contains minimum organic carbon but maximum soil salinity and silicate concentration. This zone is totally devoid of any roots, pneumatophores and vegetations) of Sundarban mangrove forest ecosystem, India revealed an interesting explanation. Soil urease activity showed a decreasing pattern with increase in depth from the deep forest region of the Sundarban forest ecosystem. Soil urease activity was found to be more sensitive to soil temperature and pH rather than soil salinity. This ensured that soil urease along with the microbes present in the Sundarban forest ecosystem are more tolerant to fluctuation in salinity than that of temperature. Soil ammonia concentration was found to be directly governed by the soil urease activity [The regression equation is Ammonia in soil = -1.64 + 0.0402 Urease Activity (R-Sq = 62.9%, P < 0.001, n = 41)].

文摘It is well known that any kind of exact enumerations of rooted maps on nonplanar surface is quite difficult. This paper presents a functional equation for rooted Eulerian maps on the projective plane. A parametric expression, through which an exact enumeration by root-valency and the number of edges of maps may be determined, is obtained.

文摘There are 36 counties affirmed to be aid-poverty-development county in the early 21st century, which distribute around the circumferential mountain of Sichuan Basin, According to the topographic features and the distribution of nationality, these aid-poverty-development counties can be classified into 4 depressed-regions. Study shows that regional poverty performance of 4 depressed-regions not only has many commons in the field of regional economic structure and industry structure, which is far behind the average development performance of Sichuan in the field of economic sum per capita such as GDP, farmer net income per capita as well as retail scale consumer goods, it is also quite different related to infrastructure and social development within 4 depressed-regions. Regional Poverty is chronically resulted in interaction of the multi-factors. Natural condition constraint is the basic factor contributed to regional poverty, policy influences play key role, the poor culture is inherent factor to regional poverty and the marginal locations play important role.
文摘In this paper, we propose two new explicit Almost Runge-Kutta (ARK) methods, ARK3 (a three stage third order method, i.e., s = p = 3) and ARK34 (a four-stage third-order method, i.e., s = 4, p = 3), for the numerical solution of initial value problems (IVPs). The methods are derived through the application of order and stability conditions normally associated with Runge-Kutta methods;the derived methods are further tested for consistency and stability, a necessary requirement for convergence of any numerical scheme;they are shown to satisfy the criteria for both consistency and stability;hence their convergence is guaranteed. Numerical experiments carried out further justified the efficiency of the methods.

文摘In order to provide theoretical basis and technical support for the afforestation and artificial water supply of P.szechuanica in arid areas,the characteristics of water consumption of P.szechuanica were explored,and the law of water demand of P.szechuanica was grasped.In this paper,potted seedlings of 1-0 rooted cuttings of P.szechuanica were taken as research objects,and change situation of water consumption under different water control gradients was measured regularly by using weighing method,further analyzing dynamic change of water consumption of P.szechuanica and revealing water demand law of 1-0 rooted cuttings of P.szechuanica.The results showed that total change of water consumption of 1-0 rooted cuttings of P.szechuanica had"slow-fast-slow-fast"double-peak trend in the growth period of the current year,and corresponded with univariate linear relation(R^(2)=0.7137),with significant difference.In whole growth period,water consumption in August was the highest,which was 2.7 times of that in June and July and 1.5 times of that after September.In different water control treatments,the dynamic changes of daily and monthly water consumption were significantly different.In seven water control treatments,monthly water consumption was between(6315.95±1690.70)and(10105.28±3065.30)g/month,and mean was(8211.07±2308.23)g/month.With intensification of water control treatment,water consumption increased,but there was no seedling death due to water shortage.P.szechuanica has great plasticity in water demand,and can survive in both arid and humid environments.Meanwhile,it is revealed that P.szechuanica is the most widely distributed tree species in the region.

文摘This paper provides a functional equation astisfied by the generating function for enumerating rooted loopless planar maps with vertex partition. A kind of applications in enumerating, by providing explicit formulae, a type of rooted loopless planar maps with the maximum valency of vertices given are described. Meanwhile, the functional equation for enumerating rooted loopless planar maps (connected) with the edge number and the valency of root-vertex as the parameters is also derived directly.

文摘This study was conducted to determine the compatibility of ectomycorrhizal (ECM) fungi associated with eucalypts on dipterocarps. Two nodal cuttings of Shorea contorta (Vid.) were rooted in a non-mist system for two months, and later inoculated with vegetative mycelia of three strains of Pisolithus collected under eucalypts and a strain of Scleroderma from dipterocarps. Inoculated rooted cuttings were planted in irradiated potting mix and raised in the nursery for five months. Root colonization prior to outplanting ranged from 31% to 38% and ECM fungi did not colonize the uninoculated ones. The cuttings were outplanted in a logged-over dipterocarp forest in Bislig, Surigao Sur following a Randomized Complete Block Design with four blocks;each block was planted with 50 seedlings. Two years after outplanting, Pisolithus strain from New Caledonia (H6394) promoted the highest height (46 cm) and diameter (0.48 cm) increment. Height was increased by 17% and diameter by 7% relative to the uninoculated control. By contrast, Pisolithus strain from the Philippines (H615) gave the shortest (26 cm) height increment and smallest (0.42 cm) diameter. Diameter growth of cuttings inoculated with Scleroderma D01 (from the Philippines) and a Pisolithus strain from Australia (H445) was bigger (0.47 cm) than the uninoculated treated cuttings (0.45 cm). In terms of survival, the uninoculated cuttings gave the highest (90%) percent survival while the lowest (60%) was those inoculated with Pisolithus strain from New Caledonia. It is possible that the indigenous ECM fungi infected easily the roots of the uninoculated cuttings thus contributing to the high survival rate (90%). During outplanting, fruit bodies of S. columnare were present in the field site. The results, however, show that ECM fungi were able to colonize the roots and that some strains promoted the growth and survival of S. contorta planted in a logged-over dipterocarp forest in Bislig, Surigao, Philippines.
文摘The static drill rooted nodular pile is a new type of pile foundation consisting of precast nodular pile and the surrounding cemented soil.This composite pile has a relatively high bearing capacity and the mud pollution will be largely reduced during the construction process by using this type of pile.In order to investigate the bearing capacity and load transfer mechanism of this pile,a group of experiments were conducted to provide a comparison between this new pile and the bored pile.The axial force of a precast nodular pile was also measured by the strain gauges installed on the pile to analyze the distribution of the axial force of the nodular pile and the skin friction supported by the surrounding soil,then 3D models were built by using the ABAQUS finite element program to investigate the load transfer mechanism of this composite pile in detail.By combining the results of field tests and the finite element method,the outcome showed that the bearing capacity of a static drill rooted nodular pile is higher than the bored pile,and that this composite pile will form a double stress dispersion system which will not only confirm the strength of the pile,but also make the skin friction to be fully mobilized.The settlement of this composite pile is mainly controlled by the precast nodular pile;meanwhile,the nodular pile and the surrounding cemented soil can be considered as deformation compatibility during the loading process.The nodes on the nodular pile play an important role during the load transfer process,the shear strength of the interface between the cemented soil and the soil of the static drill rooted pile is larger than that of the bored pile.

文摘A dendriform algebra defined by Loday has two binary operations that give a two-part splitting of the associativity in the sense that their sum is associative. Sim- ilar dendriform type algebras with three-part and four-part splitting of the associativity were later obtained. These structures can also be derived from actions of suitable linear operators, such as a Rota-Baxter operator or TD operator, on an associative algebra. Mo- tivated by finding a five-part splitting of the associativity, we consider the Rota-Baxter TD (RBTD) operator, an operator combining the Rota-Baxter operator and TD oper- ator, and coming from a recent study of Rota's problem concerning linear operators on associative algebras. Free RBTD algebras on rooted forests are constructed. We then introduce the concept of a quinquedendriform algebra and show that its defining relations are characterized by the action of an RBTD operator, similar to the cases of dendriform and tridendriform algebras.

文摘We propose a new expected value of rooted graph in this article,that is, when G is a rooted graph that each vertex may independently succeed with probability p when catastrophic thing happened, we consider the expected number of edges in the operational component of G which containing the root. And we get a very important and useful compute formula which is called deletion-contraction edge formula. By using this formula, we get the computational formulas of expected value for some special graphs. We also discuss the mean of expected value when parameter p has certain prior distribution. Finally, we propose mean-variance optimality when rooted graph has the equilibrium point which has larger mean and smaller variance.

文摘All maps we deal with in this note are rooted planar ones, which, in brief, are called maps. Most of terminologies here come from Refs. [1—3]. The purpose of this note is to determine the asymptotic enumerations based on the enumerations in [1, 2]. Bender and Richmond gave a survey of the asymptotic enumeration. New asymptotic enumerations here can be considered as a complement and improvement of the survey.

文摘A summation free formula for enumerating rooted nonseparable outerplanar maps with a face partition given is herein presented. As its corollaries, some summation free formulae for the bipartite and the simple cases are also derived. Moreover, the formula for planted plane trees according to a given vertex partition is demonstrated in a new way.
