Systematic Study on Semiotic Landscape Elements in Ancient Water Towns in South Yangtze River Area

Based on basic concepts of semiotics,component types of the semiotic landscape element system in ancient water towns in south Yangtze River area were analyzed as well as their roles in constructing the overall image of ancient water towns in this area,and their realistic significance in the present landscape construction in China was discussed.

Multifunctional Landscape Actor-Network Construction from the Perspective of Rural Tourism Experiences

During the construction of multifunctional landscape(MFL) actor-network, economic, social, and ecological functions presented significant differences, which resulted from the different roles and effects of various heterogeneous actors according to the tourism experience. In Hekou Village at the border area between China and North Korea, the roles and effects of heterogeneous actors during the MFL actor-network construction were analyzed by means of the analytic network process(ANP), which verified the Groundings-Entrepreneurship-Markets(GEM) theoretical framework of the MFL actor-network that assumed tourism experiences were core actors, and economic, social, and ecological landscape actors acted as support. Research results showed that in the MFL actornetwork construction, social and economic functions of landscapes were strong, while ecological and tourism experience functions were weak and that folk customs and land utilization were key actors of the MFL actor-network construction. In the MFL actor-network construction, actors played different roles and had different effects on the network. Intelligence facilities and rurality were critical to drive the MFL actor network translation process and pass through "obligatory passage point". By changing the interaction mode and intensity of the actors, the MFL actor-network could be promoted.

Tropical and Subtropical Urban Landscape Plant Cultivation in Southwest China—A Case Study of Honghe Hani and Yi Nationality Autonomous Prefecture

By studying current seedling production in Honghe Hani and Yi Nationality Autonomous Prefecture, tropical and subtropical urban landscape plant production in southwest China was analyzed. Local nurseries total 6.40 km 2 , accounting for 5.1% of total constructed land area in the prefecture, and only 0.02% of the total land area in the prefecture. Application of local plant species in landscape engineering and green coverage ratio lags far behind the indexes of Chinese livable city and indexes of relieving urban heat island effect. By making proper policies and measures, seedling production can be promoted, rare and endanged wild plant species should be fully used to construct garden city, control PM2.5 and protect the living environment.

Demonstration of Hainan Regional and Cultural Eco-Elements in Hotel Landscape Design:A Case Study of Landscape Design of Embrace Sea Villas Hotel in Sanya City,China

From the perspectives of hotel road profile,orientation of plant color combination,interpretation of Cultural eco-elements,and landscape design of Embrace Sea Villas Hotel was taken for example to explore the ways of demonstrating regional cultural characteristics in hotel landscape designs on Hainan Island. Eco-design techniques of tropical landscapes were combined to facilitate the formation of harmonious holiday resort images on the island,and enhance the public acceptance of the characteristic vacation culture of Hainan.

Analysis of the Image Space of Rural Landscape of the Pearl River Delta

Through questionnaires and perceptual maps,we made a variation analysis of landscape spatial image to the people in the Pearl River Delta from the viewpoint of the subjective perception.It is found that the people of different ages and different education levels from different areas hold diversified perceptions towards rural landscape space,and they have different ideal rural landscapes.However,there is a common point that the development of rural landscape should retain its excellent local landscape features and the local spirit,which will provide references for building the ideal rural landscape model.

Reflection on Rural Settlement Environmental Landscape of Mixed Living Areas of Multination in Xinjiang Province of China——A Case Study of Wuchang Region

As Xinjiang rural settlement planning has only paid attention to the completion of basic community functions but neglected landscape planning and shaping,strategies for sustainable development have been proposed by taking rural settlement landscape construction in mixed living areas of Wuchang for example.It should well deal with problems about nationalities and religious belief,solve the contradiction between traditional life and production mode and modern standardized agricultural life and production mode,promote the maximization of settlement landscape function,coordinate the relation between settlement landscape and natural environment,make settlement landscape correspond with traditional geomancy,construct definite landscape position and create regional landscape feature.Finally,in view of the design and renovation of settlement landscape,it has proposed respecting local natural geological condition,respecting current settlement pattern and layout,avoiding rebuilding new villages,and founding a"Settlement Landscape Construction and Development Autonomous Committee".

Study on Attractiveness of Rural Landscapes against the Background of New Countryside Development

Through analyzing relevant documents,connotations of rural landscape attractiveness were introduced,and existing problems of present rural landscapes elaborated.It was proposed that rural tourism of China has no effective strategic planning,distinctive characteristics of landscape products,or efficient marketing of rural landscape resources.Influencing factors of rural landscape attractiveness were summarized,and suggestions were given to improve the attractiveness by combining with actual conditions of China.Moreover,it was stressed that favorable rural landscape images should be created,and more efforts devoted in safeguarding native-soil cultural landscapes and exploring tourist market of rural landscape resources.The study was to provide useful references for the new countryside construction of China.

Through analyzing the present landform and geological conditions of Han Yangling Mausoleum, investigating the features of gardening and mausoleum construction in Han Dynasty, this study elaborated expression forms of each landscape element in the ecological restoration of Han Yangling Mausoleum.

The Development of Mountainous Rural Landscapes in Southern Shaanxi from the Perspective of Ecotourism

This study introduced the connotation of rural ecotourism,and analyzed the advantages of tourism resources development of mountainous rural landscapes in southern Shaanxi.On this basis,it expounded the existing problems of mountainous rural landscape development in southern Shaanxi,and concluded that its rural landscape resource tourism development was not enough,ecological awareness needed to be strengthened,and the characteristics of rural landscapes were not fully explored.Furthermore,the suggestions and measures for the protection and sustainable development of the ecological environment pattern and the inheritance and excavation of the characteristic culture of the rural landscape were proposed,with a view to providing a reference for the development and construction of rural landscape tourism in China.

Land Use Evolution of Rural Settlements Based on Landscape Ecology and Analysis of Its Influence Factors: A Case Study of Panshi City, Jilin City of China

GIS spatial analysis and quantitative analysis of landscape indexes were applied to analyze land use features and influence factors of rural settlements in Panshi City, Jilin Province in view of the comprehensive regional environment. The results showed that (A) Rural settlements are mostly scattered, and concentrated in small groups, showing the co-existence and disorderly expansion of modern and traditional development features; (B) Layouts of rural settlements are closely related to agricultural production; (C) Rural settlements are mostly distributed in the linear patterns along rivers and in the ring patterns around reservoirs; (D) Distribution of rural settlements gradually expands to the neighboring areas of traffic arteries. Against the macro background of urbanization, studying the intensive utilization of rural settlements is a fundamental approach of relieving restriction of land elements, and also an important approach of promoting the construction of new socialist countryside, optimizing industrial structure and accelerating regional urbanization.

Design Strategy of Rural Settlement Landscape: A Case Study of Xinji Village in Beijing

Improving rural living environment is an important support for farmers to live and work in peace and contentment,which is of great significance to the shaping of happy and livable homes in rural areas under the background of "beautiful countryside".Through the comprehensive renovation of the beautiful countryside,great progress has been made in improving the rural living environment in Beijing,but there are still problems in rural settlement landscape such as poor quality of landscape environment,low utilization rate of public space,and insufficient protection of traditional features.This study took the design strategy of rural settlement landscape as the research entry point,took the rural high-quality landscape environment demand and the beautiful rural construction goal as the double guidance,explored the design strategy of improving the quality of rural settlement landscape through the methods of field survey and questionnaire survey,and put forward the following design points:①From the perspective of overall consideration and advantage integration,the overall framework of rural settlement landscape should comprehensively consider rural architectural landscape and living environment landscape;②efforts should be made to create public spaces such as the village landscape image Avenue,landscape sharing garden,and open courtyard in front of the house,so as to improve the environmental quality and spatial vitality of the village;③strengthen the protection of the traditional features of the village,such as the famous ancient trees,the texture of the courtyard,the quality of residential buildings,etc.with a view to promoting the improvement and overall improvement of the rural environment.

A Comprehensive Evaluation of Rural Landscapes Based on the AVC Theory: A Case Study of Nandoujiao Village in Shaanxi Province

The comprehensive evaluation of rural landscapes is the theoretical basis and evaluation system of tourism planning and landscape design with the goal of comprehensive revitalization of rural landscapes. It is an important component of rural landscapes research. Based on the AVC theory, this study constructed a comprehensive evaluation system of rural landscapes, determined the indicator score by means of the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods and the weights indicator by the analytic hierarchy process(AHP), and established an evaluation model to comprehensively evaluate the landscapes of Nandoujiao Village in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province. The results showed that the comprehensive landscape score of Nandoujiao Village fell into the good category, whose rural economic vitality was high, followed by social attraction and environmental carrying capacity, which provided a good resource basis for the development of rural tourism. However, its single industrial structure and the low landscape diversity had limited the development of rural tourism.

Study on the Evolution of Rural Settlement Landscapes on Guanzhong Plain of China

Overall figures of rural settlement landscapes on Guanzhong Plain were summarized,material components of these landscapes were classified into living landscape facilities and production landscape facilities,and then introduced respectively.From the perspective of rural central landscapes,rural yard landscapes,rural cluster landscapes and rural road landscapes,evolution of rural landscape spatial forms on Guanzhong Plain was analyzed.Moreover,problems of present rural landscapes were proposed,necessity and urgency of controlling evolution of rural settlement landscapes were stressed,and a rural landscape control mode in view of regional characteristics of Guanzhong Plain was given.

RS and GIS-based Analysis of Landscape Pattern Changes in Urban-rural Ecotone:A Case Study of Daiyue District,Tai' an City,China

Based on RS data of Daiyue District,Tai'an City in 2000,2005 and 2010,changes of land use types in urban-rural ecotone of Tai'an City from 2000 to 2010 were analyzed.Ecological theories,ArcGIS techniques and landscape structure analysis software Fragstats were applied to select relevant landscape pattern indexes and analyze changes of landscape structure,and compare changes in two durations(2000-2005,2005-2010).The results showed that area of natural landscapes in the study area declined from 2000 to 2010,construction land expanded,land use types were mainly transferred from natural landscapes to man-made landscapes.In terms of landscape level,number of patches(NP),patch density(PD),patch shape index(SHAPE),Shannon's diversity index(SHDI) and Shannon's evenness index(SHEI) increased,the largest patch index(LPI) declined.In terms of type level,arable land were influenced by the most human interventions,large-scale patches turned fragmented,and landscape dominance degraded;woodland landscapes were concentrated in mountainous areas,waterscape indexes showed slight changes.Dominance of regional dominant landscape types degraded,landscape fragmentation and landscape heterogeneity increased,and landscape stability declined.

Strategies and Paths for Constructing Rural Landscape Ecological Security Pattern in the Context of Rural Revitalization

It is one of the fundamental research contents of rural revitalization by constructing a ecological security pattern of rural landscape,providing important basis for scientifically formulating rural spatial planning and sustainable rural development.The research on ecological security patterns of landscape at home and abroad is mainly focused on urban areas.In the context of rural revitalization,the research on strategies and paths for constructing the ecological security pattern of rural landscapes aims to provide important references for the overall planning and design of rural areas and the optimization of rural resource allocation.Using 3S(GPS,RS,GIS)technology methods,this paper systematically analyzes and elaborates on the construction strategies and paths of rural water ecological security pattern,rural biological protection security pattern,rural geological disaster security pattern,and local cultural landscape security pattern.Through the comprehensive superposition of the patterns,a comprehensive ecological security pattern of rural landscape is finally constructed.In the process of constructing and improving the ecological security pattern of rural landscape,emphasis is placed on top-level design,long-term planning,multi-party participation,mechanism improvement,technological innovation,and the strategy of“integrating knowledge with action”.

Research on Rural Landscape Planning Based on Ecological Concept:Taking Tian-e-zhou Development Zone in Shishou City as an Example

The basic situation and ecological resources of Tian-e-zhou Development Zone,Shishou City were briefly introduced.Aiming at the problems such as poor plant diversity,low utilization rate of local resources and lack of local landscape in the site,and three major planning and design goals such as respecting for ecological environment protection,combining landscape resources and production resources,and creating a good plant,ecology,rural culture science popularization atmosphere were proposed under the premise of following the principle of ecological protection.Besides,it is needed to gradually restore the vitality of rice field and water of the site,give play to the popular science and tourism functions of the site,and create a rural environment integrating ecological protection,tourism,science popularization and research and promoting the development of local industries,which provides reference for the future rural environment regulation and planning design under the policy of rural revitalization.

Urban and Rural Landscape Ecological Problem Produced by Urbanization

By using landscape ecology theory and measure,structure,layout,function and resources utilization of urban and rural landscape during urbanization process had been studied;urban and rural landscape problems brought by urbanization and reasons causing them had been analyzed.In terms of rural landscape ecological problems,degeneration of natural and semi-natural landscape caused ecological unbalance,disorder of landscape pattern caused decrease of ecological environmental quality,disharmony between new and old landscape caused loss of native characteristic,contradiction between land and population became acute,land waste and pollution were serious and ecological environment had been damaged.In terms of urban landscape ecological problem,damage of regional ecological environment gave rise to decrease of ecological function,natural and cultural landscapes with significant value had been destroyed,urban green space constantly decreased and landscape fragmentation degree increased,urban layout lacked of planning which led to spatial development problem.On this basis,corresponding countermeasures had been proposed.It pointed out that,as for rural landscape ecological problems,it should pay attention to landscape ecological planning and adjustment of layout,coordinate regional comprehensive development by completeness principle,effectively coordinate all kinds of contradictions,intensify the effort for rural land arrangement,and develop construction of ecological network;as for urban landscape ecological problems,it should lay stress on reasonable planning of landscape structural proportion,establishing reasonable landscape pattern,effectively constructing urban green land and regulating ecological environment.

Application of Ornamental Grass in China’s Rural Tourism Landscapes
