Research on the Renovation of Rural Buildings Suitable for Aging Populations Based on Cross-Analysis

Based on the intersection of“Implementing the National Strategy to Actively Cope with Population Aging”and“Guiding Opinions on Future Rural Construction”in Zhejiang Province,this study constructed the evaluation index system of rural age-appropriate building space.This is done by analyzing the current situation locally and internationally,summarizing the existing problems,and optimizing countermeasures.The cross-analysis method is adopted by fully listening to the opinions of the elderly and introducing a professional team to transform the physical,psychological,and rural natural environment of the elderly.The renovation strategies of building layout,indoor and outdoor space,and supporting facilities for the elderly are put forward.Looking to the future,including the application of intelligent technology,the development of a community pension model,and multi-party cooperation,it aims to create a comfortable,safe,and convenient living environment for rural elderly people,improve the quality of life,promote rural revitalization and actively respond to the challenges of population aging.

The Problems Existing in Building of Rural Community in Jilin Province and Corresponding Countermeasures

This paper analyses some problems existing in building of rural community in Jilin Province as follows:the funds for community building are short;the residents show sluggish participation in community;the infrastructure community building is backward;the organizational building of community lags behind;the operating mechanism is in chaos.Finally,corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward as follows:we should strengthen the funds guarantee of government for community building;we should reinforce the quality education for the rural residents;we should speed up the construction of rural infrastructure;we should improve organizational building of rural community.

An improved Mahalanobis distance-based colour segmentation method for rural building recognition

Aiming at the rapid identification of rural buildings in complex environments from high-spatialresolution images, an improved Mahalanobis distance colour segmentation method(IMDCSM) is proposed and realised in Red, Green and Blue(RGB) space. Vector sets of a lower discrete degree are obtained by filtering the colour vector sets of the building samples, and a standard ellipsoid equation can be constructed based on these vector sets. The threshold of interested colour range can be flexibly and intuitively selected by changing the shape and size of this ellipsoid. Then, according to the relationship between the location of the image pixel colour vector and the ellipsoid, all building information can be extracted quickly. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV) images of two areas in the suburbs of Chengdu city and Deyang city were utilised as experimental data for image segmentation, and the existing colour segmentation method based on the Mahalanobis distance was selected as an indicator to assess the effectiveness of this method. The experimental results demonstrate that the completeness and correctness of this method reached 95% and 83.0%, respectively, values that are higher than those of the Mahalanobis distance colour segmentation method(MDCSM). In general, this method is suitable for the rapid extraction of rural building information, and provides a new threshold selection method for classification.

Characteristics of Changes in Energy Consumption of Rural Residential Buildings from the Perspective of Province and Recommendations

In the context of the new period,the living standards and comfort demands of rural residents are increasing,which promotes the continuous growth of the total energy consumption of rural residential buildings.In this study,it estimated the total energy consumption of rural residential buildings in 30 provinces(or cities)in China from 2004 to 2016.Through the division of climate regions of the residential buildings,this paper analyzed the characteristics of changes in the energy structure of residential buildings and the trend of energy consumption from the perspective of the province.Then based on the people s livelihood and from the perspective of development,it came up with some pertinent strategies and recommendations for energy saving and emission reduction in rural residential buildings.

Idle School Buildings in Rural Areas: Will they Be Useful?

Taking the case of Enshi City,we survey the supply of public services in rural areas from education,health,culture and social security; reveal the relationship between the use of idle school buildings in rural areas and the improvement of public services in rural areas. On the basis of expounding the status quo of idle school buildings and public services in rural areas of Enshi City,the following recommendations are put forward: using the idle school buildings to develop rural public education; using the idle school buildings to develop rural public health and medical services; using the idle school buildings to develop public cultural undertakings in rural areas; using the idle school buildings to develop social security undertakings in rural areas.

Earthquake-resistant performance investigation for rural buildings in Zhongxiang area, China

We carried out a census of the rural residential buildings of Zhongxiang area＇ s 17 towns. Next, we conducted a sample survey in four townships： Huji, Shipai, Zhangji, and Jiuli. According to the census and sample survey data of the rural residence buildings, we evaluated the quality and earthquake-resistant performance of the rural buildings for the various local rural residential structural types. The results showed that there are four main factors affecting the seismic performance of the local rural residences ： （ 1 ） Foundations are not made appropriately （ such as by compaction or some other fill） but are built directly in the farming soil. （2） Seismic measures are not completely implemented. Structure construction measures are not in place at the junction of the vertical and horizontal wall. The vertical wall joints are not the result of the same masonry techniques as the horizontal joints. There are no lintels above the door and window openings, or if there are any, the length of the lintels is less than 240 mm. （3） The brick masonry wall has low strength. The greatest housing wall mortar strength is between M0. 4 - 1.5, much lower than the strength of the brick. （4） The building material and construction quality are poor. The quality of the mortar masonry wall is poor. The cracks between the bricks are uneven, even in the seams.

Research on the Evaluation Indicator System for Rural Green Building

Based on the actual situation and the survey results in rural areas,with the domestic and foreign advanced green building standard as a reference,we initially determine the evaluation indicator system for rural green building. We use the AHP-Delphi method to calculate the weight,and get a multi-goal,multi-factor,and multi-level rural green building evaluation method suitable for the rural environment,social and economic situation,and apply this method to 10 villages in Shaanxi Province. After the evaluation and scoring,we give the following recommendations:( i) Strengthening the energy-saving design and improving the living comfort;( ii) Enhancing the application of appropriate technologies;( iii) Improving the level of development environment.

Failure criteria of unreinforced masonry walls of rural buildings under the impact of flash floods in mountainous regions

Damage to rural buildings in mountainous regions caused by flash floods accounts for a significant proportion of economic losses from disasters.The unreinforced masonry(URM)wall is the most vulnerable structural element of rural buildings exposed to flash floods.The failure of a URM wall indicates damage to rural buildings in flash floods.Based on the yield line theory of out-of-plane damage of URM walls and the virtual work method,brittle failure criteria for URM walls under the impact of flash floods were established.According to the field investigation data of the 26 June 2020 flash flood event in Damawu Gully and the corresponding simulation results of FLO-2D,the disaster-causing process was analysed,and the failure criteria were validated.Three building parameters were identified to influence the flood-resistance of URM walls,including the mortar grade,the span-to-height ratio of the wall,and the number of floors of the rural building.The results showed that the cause of the 26June disaster was the diversion of a 50-year flash flood into the residential community on the alluvial fan.The affected buildings were constructed with hollow blocks and lacked flood-resistance reinforcement.The critical failure depth of a URM wall restrained at the top by ring beams(RBs)under hydrostatic load conditions is 1.17 to 1.20 times greater than that of a URM wall without RBs,and the difference is even more pronounced when lowerstrength mortar is used.The flood-resistance of a URM wall constructed with Mb 7.5 mortar and restrained by RBs is almost as strong as that of a URM wall constructed with Mb 20 mortar and without RBs.The span-to-height ratio of a URM wall should not be greater than 1.875 in this case.However,the flood-resistance of a URM wall with RB restraint is almost independent of the span-to-height ratio.The brittle fracture energy of masonry mortar is more crucial to the flood-resistance of 4-edge restrained URM walls if L/Z>1.875.The flood-resistance of the URM wall of the first storey increases linearly with the number of floors.Single-storey rural buildings should be given priority to the use of high-grade masonry mortar and high-density blocks to improve flood-resistance.The failure criteria and the influence laws of building parameters on the flood-resistance of URM walls can provide references for flash flood mitigation and flood-resistance reinforcement of rural buildings in mountainous regions of Southwest China.

Cultural Protection and Inheritance of Red Buildings from the Perspective of Rural Revitalization:A Case Study of the Former Site of"Third Line"Military Factory in Pengfang,Jiangxi Province

This paper makes an investigation and analysis of the existing red buildings in Pengfang Township,and puts forward the circular development model of"Red Building+Rural Tourism"after systematic arrangement.And through the dialectical perspective of the protection,inheritance,development and utilization of architectural culture under rural revitalization,this paper observes how the villages with red buildings help to boost the rural economy by integrating its own internal and external resources under the background of the great revival of the national rural traditional culture,so as to realize the protective development of rural red buildings.

Investigating the Problems and Proposing Solutions for Rural Residential Buildings in Northwest China

With the increasing income of the rural population in Northwest China,people’s sense of happiness and gain is also increasing.However,the improvement of housing conditions is lagging behind the increasing income levels.In recent years,the government and owners have paid much attention to this issue.The local government has successively issued relevant guidelines and policies to encourage owners to reconstruct their houses and improve their housing conditions.Before improving housing conditions,the existing housing problems must be identified.In order to have a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the problems of rural residential buildings in Northwest China and to propose corresponding solutions,90 representative rural residential buildings of three provinces in Northwest China have been selected for investigation,and mass data have been obtained.Upon analyzing these data,it has been found that there are problems in five aspects of rural residential buildings in Northwest China:architectural style and functional space layout,energy utilization and dissipation,design,construction,as well as structural safety and seismic measures.Valid solutions are proposed to address these problems,which can also provide a reference for the government and enterprises engaged in the architecture,engineering,and construction(AEC)industry in rural areas.

Rural finance is an issue concerned with rural people, improving rural financial management is important to close the relations of cadres and masses, maintain rural stability, and promote rural economic development. This article explained the main problems of village financial, the needs of introducing commission and agent system of ＂village-level accounting＂ for building a new socialist countryside, and the measures of improving commission and agent system of ＂village-level accounting＂.

Design Strategies for Rural Revitalization under the Background of Rural Revitalization:A Case Study of Baimaozhuang Village,Baodi District,Tianjin City

Through the practical design of Baimaozhuang Village in Baodi District of Tianjin City,this paper analyzes the historical,social,and cultural background of the village,sorts out the current construction situation,rural style,and public space usage,and elaborates on the revitalization strategy from the perspectives of planning and architectural design.From the perspective of planning and design,it is mainly reflected in road network optimization,landscape improvement,and node implantation.From the perspective of architectural design,it is mainly reflected in building renewal,space revitalization,and style enhancement,with the expectation of building a charming rural area with regional cultural characteristics.

A Proper Design Technique for Self-built Houses in Rural Areas

Inspired by a style of native-soil literature,the author through analyzing a self-built house in Huaqiao Village(Poyang County,Jiangxi Province) and problems of such houses in rural areas proposed that design of residential buildings in rural areas should focus on practical functions,proper utilization of modern technology and demonstration of traditional customs.Through analyzing basic conditions of the house,design concepts of this house were analyzed from the perspectives of functional layout,structure,construction and economic considerations,and local cultures.It was stressed that houses built on the basis of actual conditions would be easily accepted by users.More houses with practical and considerate designs should be built in rural areas to play an exemplary role for the architectural design and landscape construction of the new countryside by providing theoretic basis and support,and push the construction of rural self-built houses into a benign circulation.

An Analysis of the Effectiveness Farmer Field School (FFS) Approach in Sustainable Rural Livelihood (SRL): The Experience of Punjab-Pakistan

Farmer Field School (FFS) is a capacity building approach in the Agricultural Extension Approaches (AEA), which provides opportunities to farmers of improving various skills through practicing various techniques by themselves. The review paper is in 2015 to analyze FFS as a strategy for benefiting resource poor farmers from agricultural technologies in Pakistan. Keeping in view the importance of exchange of information, FFS approach is the only approach to agriculture extension in which communication is an integral component because after trained by FFS program and to be expected to become a local agent to deliver the information and techniques of agriculture to other farmers for enhancing the agricultural production, income and improved livelihood. It can be concluded from the study that FFS proves highly beneficial to the farming community due to its capacity building functions.

The Nature of Rural Revitalization Planning and Its System Construction

On the Basis of SWOT Analysis Method to Xichang Rural Public Sports Service System Optimization Path

In October 2021,the State General Administration of Sport officially issued the“14th Five-Year”sports development plan and proposed to build a higher level of national fitness public service system,the people’s physical literacy and health level is further improved,and the sense of gain and happiness is constantly improved(General Administration of Sport of China,2021).China has lifted itself out of poverty across the board.The 19th CPC National Congress put forward the rural revitalization strategy,fully implemented the national fitness program,and accelerated efforts to build a healthy China.We should fully tap the new drivers of sports development,optimize the spatial distribution of sports development,and conform to the new trend of urbanization and rural revitalization.Based on SWOT analysis,this paper analyzes the current situation of the reconstruction of the rural public sports service system in Xichang after poverty alleviation,and explores the optimization path for the reconstruction of the rural public sports service system in Xichang,in order to make modest contribution to the development of sports in Xichang.

Research on the Design and Energy Saving of New Rural Residential in the Southwest Area

The paper use advantage of local natural resources, greening and sufficient water resources, combine natural ecological environment design with rural architecture, and fully consider local economic base and material technical conditions, and takes site selection and planning, architectural design technology as the two core aspects to study rural residential energy conservation, improving thermal environment of indoor residential that use of nature building energy saving technique, efforts to reduce the use of mechanical equipment system, thereby reducing the rural residential building energy consumption.

EXPLORING THE DIVERSITY OF GREEN BUILDINGS

INTRODUCTION 25 years of experience in sustainable architecture and 10 years of experience in designing LEED-certified buildings and providing LEED consulting to projects has allowed our firm,Prairie Architects Inc.,to collect a great deal of experience on green buildings.Through the years,we have come to realize the great diversity of what it means to be a green building and the multitude of avenues that can be followed in order to pursue that end goal.Factors such as building type,location,and owner representation can have a dramatic impact on what sustainability opportunities are available to a project.This article examines the process of determining the path to a green building through three case studies of recently constructed projects in Manitoba,Canada.Through each case study we will reflect on the challenges encountered as well as highlight the successes and opportunities that were found.

Study on Energy Conservation of External Wall Structure of Rural Houses in Cold Area

According to the status of the northern rural architecture analysis, the prevalence of high energy consumption, low comfort features, it is essential to design energy-efficient buildings in rural areas. Article research and analyze the layout of rural buildings, a variety of energy-saving technologies and building design measures development and utilization of new energy sources and other issues that can make rural buildings to save energy and improve the environmental quality of living of farmers. It also put forward some reasonable suggestions for carrying out residential building energy efficiency in cold areas.

基于BIM技术与模拟退火算法的村镇轻钢框架结构智能设计方法

传统村镇住宅结构设计需要进行大量的人工试算与重复建模,而受制于建设成本,村镇住宅无法像城镇住宅一样通过设计师进行专业的结构设计与验算,其安全性与经济性均难以满足要求。为此,提出一种村镇轻钢框架结构智能设计方法,包括智能建模与智能优化两个环节。基于图层自动识别算法、光学字符识别技术、自适应分块算法提出村镇轻钢框架结构BIM智能建模方法,包括图层识别、轴文本数据提取、墙体轮廓提取等,智能建模结果基本满足实际工程要求。基于提出的两阶段模拟退火算法给出村镇轻钢框架结构的智能优化方法,优化速度较快,优化效果良好。通过实际工程案例对提出的智能设计方法进行验证,结果表明,提出的村镇轻钢框架结构智能设计方法具有可行性,与传统的人工设计方法相比,设计周期可缩短70%以上,材料用量、结构设计指标接近人工设计结果。
