Integration of Mathematics History into Junior Middle School Education: A Pedagogical Approach to Enhance Mathematical Literacy

The integration of the history of mathematics into junior middle school mathematics education represents a significant focus of international research in mathematics and education.The mathematics curriculum standards for compulsory education have emphasized the importance of incorporating the history of mathematics,aiming to gradually integrate it into the mathematics classroom.However,in the practical implementation of junior middle school mathematics education,the effective combination of the history of mathematics with teaching methodologies remains largely unexplored.This article explores the integration of junior middle school mathematics education and the history of mathematics,aiming to provide classroom teaching recommendations for teachers and promote the formation of students’mathematical literacy.

School Education and Inheritance of Ethnic Culture in Minority Areas-Take School Education in Tibetan Areas as an Example

Ethnic education is an important way to inherit ethnic culture.Under the background of cultural globalization and cultural diversification,minority cultures are facing the danger of extinction and change.Schools in minority areas give full play to their own advantages and become the main places to train students to master ethnic culture in a purposeful,planned,and organized way.However,there are also many problems in school education in the inheritance of national culture,such as the content of school education and national culture cannot be effectively integrated,teachers lack scientific and effective teaching methods,teaching activities content cannot be flexibly used.In this regard,we should excavate the national cultural resources in school education,improve the professional quality and skills of teachers,and enhance the national consciousness of teachers,so as to improve the quality of school education and realize the effective inheritance of national culture.Taking Tibetan areas as an example,this paper analyzes the advantages,existing problems,and solutions of the school in Tibetan cultural traditions.

The Value Implication and Practical Path Yan'an Spirit into Middle School Education

During the Yan’an period,the Chinese Communists cultivated and formed the Yan’an spirit.The main contents of the Yan’an spirit include the firm and correct political direction,the ideological line of emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts,the fundamental purpose of serving the people wholeheartedly,and the entrepreneurial spirit of self-reliance and hard work.The Yan’an spirit has played an important role in various periods of China’s revolution,construction,and reform.In the current era of socialism with Chinese characteristics,it is essential to extract the educational value of the Yan’an spirit.By incorporating the Yan’an spirit into middle school education,students can adhere to the correct political orientation,adhere to their ideals and beliefs,adhere to mind emancipation and seeking truth from facts,adhere to the people-centered approach,and adhere to self-reliance.The integration of the Yan’an spirit into classroom teaching,campus activities,project-based learning,and study trips plays a vital role in educating students about the Yan’an spirit,contributing significantly to the cultivation of successive generations of socialist builders and successors.

A Deep Learning-Based Teaching Design for High School Geography Units:Taking the Example of Landforms of the Humanistic Education Edition

The traditional teaching methods of one-way cultivation of students can no longer meet the requirements of talent cultivation at this stage.The issue of how to promote students from passive acceptance to the independent cognitive understanding stage(i.e.deep learning)has become the focus of geography teaching.Therefore,under the guidance of deep learning theory,this paper takes the“landforms”knowledge unit of the Humanistic Education Edition as an example,improves the classroom teaching means through the unit teaching mode,reconstructs the“landforms”teaching unit,and explores the specific teaching of high school geography unit based on deep learning.This study provides a good example and guidelines for high school geography teaching and learning.

A Study on the Instructional Design of Interdisciplinary Thematic Learning in Middle School Physical Education Based on the CASES-T Model

With the deepening of educational reform,interdisciplinary thematic learning,as an emerging educational model,has become a focus of attention in the field of educational research.Based on the STEM(science,technology,engineering,and mathematics)education concept and CASES-T(Content,Activity,Situation,Evaluation,Strategy-Target)model,this study provides a theoretical basis for the teaching design and implementation of interdisciplinary thematic learning in middle school physical education.Through the analysis of specific interdisciplinary thematic learning cases,it aims to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the reform of middle school physical education through the CASES-T model-based interdisciplinary thematic teaching design research in middle school physical education,in order to enhance students’learning effects,cultivate core literacy in physical education,and promote students’all-round development.

Reciprocal Learning between Canada and China in Teacher Education and School Education:Partnership Studies of Practice in Cultural Context

Abstract In this introduction we describe the purpose and structure of the Canada-China Reciprocal Learning in Teacher Education and School Education Partnership Grant Project sponsored by the Social Sciences and Humanities Council of Canada(SSHRC)in 2013−2020,and describe the project’s practice-based methodology along with a discussion of selected preliminary results.The papers presented in this special issue of Frontiers of Education in China animate our discussion by bringing forward important school-based activities and results.The heart of this work is the collaborative activity and voices of Chinese and Canadian educators.We illustrate our concept of reciprocal learning and how we apply this concept in our Partnership Grant Project.We believe that we have heavily benefited from the productive work and impact that has been made in the field of comparative education and we have put our emphasis on Reciprocal Learning as Collaborative Partnership throughout our project.

As an educator, I have been keen on human rights education in Chinese schools. Tbrough visits to schools ranging from those at the primary level to schools of higher learning, I have found that education of the young in human rights is fairly developed in the country and conducted in a comprehensive, scientific manner. We are justified to say that a complete system of human rights education is already in place in the country.

Teaching Strategies for Physical Education in Primary and Secondary Schools Under the Background of National Sports

By the end of 2021,the proportion of people participating in normalized physical exercise in China has reached up to 37.2%,contributing to the transformation of competitive sports into national sports.This has significantly affected the teaching quality of physical education in primary and secondary schools.In the critical period of the“14th Five-Year Plan”construction,it is necessary to deepen the physical education work in primary and secondary schools concertedly with high-quality development goals.Taking this as the starting point,the paper outlines the basic content and main influence of national sports as well as analyzes the new demands of physical education in primary and secondary schools under the background of national sports.On this basis,several targeted teaching strategies are put forward from three aspects:teaching concept,information technology,and teaching goals.

Analysis of the Physical Education Teaching Path in Primary and Secondary Schools Under the Guidance of Core Literacy

Since the 2018 National Education Conference in China,physical education has gained importance as a whole,and the development of physical literacy education and teaching has been promoted.In order to ensure high-quality physical education teaching in primary and secondary schools in the new era,it is necessary to take core literacy as the guide to further improve the level of physical education in primary and secondary schools.This article emphasizes the importance of physical education in primary and secondary schools in the new era and analyzes the need of primary and secondary schools for core literacy-oriented physical education.On this basis,targeted suggestions are proposed from three aspects:new concept,new technology,and new evaluation.

Relationship between Teachers’Leadership and Classroom Climate in Chinese and Japanese Elementary School

The purpose of this study is to clarify the relationship between classroom climate and teachers’leadership through a comparison of Japanese and Chinese elementary school teachers.From this,exploring measures to improve the classroom climate.By creating a positive classroom climate,aiming to create a class that is free from bullying,school refusal,and school violence.184 elementary school teachers in China and Japan were randomly selected as study participants to investigate the relationship between teachers’leadership and classroom climate.As the data analysis results,fostering Maintenance Behavior of teachers’leadership is effective in creating a positive classroom climate.The results showed that Large Performance Behavior and Large Maintenance Behavior of teachers’leadership PM-type leads to an improvement in the classroom climate.

Conceptual physical education: A course for the future

The conceptual physical education(CPE)innovation began in the mid-20th century as an alternative approach to college-level,activity-only basic instruction classes.In addition to physical activity sessions,CPE courses(classes)use text material and classroom sessions to teach kinesiology concepts and principles of health-related fitness and health-enhancing physical activity.CPE courses are now offered in nearly all college programs as either required or electives classes.Two decades later,the high school CPE innovation began,and Kindergarten-8 programs followed.In this commentary,I argue that historian Roberta Park was correct in her assessment that physical education has the potential to be the renaissance field of the 21st century.Scientific contributions of researchers in kinesiology will lead the way,but science-based CPE and companion fitness education programs that align with physical education content standards and fitness education benchmarks will play a significant role.CPE courses have been shown to be effective in promoting knowledge,attitudes,and out-of-school physical activity and have the potential to elevate physical education as we chart the course of our future.

South Africa’s school curriculum will include the Chinese language as an elective subject in select schools from January2016.In March 2014,China’s Ministry of Education and South Africa’s Department of Basic Education（DBE）signed an implementation plan to strengthen education ties at an institutional and policy level.The introduction of Chinese forms part of those ties.Chin Africa asked DBE spokesperson Troy Martens about the language option and the objections made by the South African Democratic Teachers’Union（SADTU）.

The Useof Drama Pedagogy in Teaching Morality in a Chinese Primary School

Purpose:This paper aims to explore the potential of the drama pedagogy that may contribute to primary children's moral growth in the Chinese educational context.It argues that drama may offer an ensemble-based,dialogic,and narrative pedagogy for teaching morality to complement thedidactic traditional model.Design/Approach/Methods:The methodological approach is that of case study research,using different methods to assess the effects and effectiveness of the author's teaching.The fieldwork was undertaken in a public primary school in Beijing,in which the drama workshop The Boat was taught to I6 children on a voluntary basis.Findings:The study demonstrates that drama can be seen to some extent to assist pupils in aspects of their empathetic attitudes,dialogic thinking abilities,and autonomous thinking capacities.Originality/Value:The author hopes the study might stimulate more and deeper research in similar contexts and that this may further extend the understanding of Chinese teachers of this resourceful new pedagogy.
