Development of an Information-Based Leadership Evaluation Index System for School Management Teams:A Comprehensive Approach

In the context of educational informatization reform,there are many uncertain factors in the process of education development.To optimize the educational environment so that it can be effectively combined with information technology,teachers need to change their teaching ideas,strengthen the school’s own adaptability to informatization,and promote the development of informatization construction in schools.As a branch of information leadership,the management team should establish an evaluation index system for information leadership in order to ensure the construction of school informatization,so as to provide a boost for the integration of school resources and information technology.Based on the overview and connotation of information-based leadership of the management team,this paper explores the construction of an evaluation index system of information-based leadership of the school management team,aiming to provide references for the research of relevant personnel in the future.

The Innovative Application of Principal's Leadership Art and Leadership in International School Management

At present,most schools adopt the principal management system.In the International Campus,the principal's leadership has a great impact on the quality of school operation.Headmasters must combine the actual situation and use of international schools,and lead in an innovative way to better promote the development of international schools.Therefore,this paper analyzes the current situation and importance of principal leadership and leadership art in international school management,and discusses the innovative application strategies of principal leadership art and leadership in international school management.

Rural left-behind children’s academic psychology in Western China and the school management countermeasures

Left-behind children refer to those left behind by parents working away from home and taken care of by only one of the parents or relatives because one or both of the parents go out to work in the city.By using questionnaires,this study involves 8627 rural pupils chosen from 10 provinces to examine academic psychological characteristics,containing academic self-concept,teacher-student relationship and the student attitudes towards school;and then it discusses the school management countermeasures.The results show:(1)children living with parents have the best academic performances;(2)children left behind with both parents working out show better than those living with one of the parents on academic psychological performance;and(3)children left behind with only one of the parents working out performs the worst,especially when only living with the father.Therefore,much more attention should be paid to those children.

Enabling Proactive Management of School Dropouts Using Neural Network

The growing need to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in addressing challenges in education sectors of developing countries is undermined by low awareness, limited skill and poor data quality. One particular persisting challenge, which can be addressed by AI, is school dropouts whereby hundreds of thousands of children drop annually in Africa. This article presents a data-driven approach to proactively predict likelihood of dropping from schools and enable effective management of dropouts. The approach is guided by a carefully crafted conceptual framework and new concepts of average absenteeism, current cumulative absenteeism and dropout risk appetite. In this study, a typical scenario of missing quality data is considered and for which synthetic data is generated to enable development of a functioning prediction model using neural network. The results show that, using the proposed approach, the levels of risk of dropping out of schools can be practically determined using data that is largely available in schools. Potentially, the study will inspire further research, encourage deployment of the technologies in real life, and inform processes of formulating or improving policies.

Is Business School Performance Impacted by Market Orientation Toward Students, Employers of Students, and Parents of Students？ Views from Accounting Department Chairpersons, Business School Deans, and Academic Vice-Presidents of AACSB Business Schools

This paper is part of a continuing research stream dealing with organizational behavior and performance in higher education, specifically within AACSB-Intemational business schools. Using responses to a national survey sent to AACSB-International members schools located in the United States, we report market orientation levels toward students, parents of students, and employers of students as well as levels of organizational performance reported by accounting department chairpersons, business school deans, and academic vice-presidents. Theory and empirical research suggest that higher levels of market orientation result in higher levels of organizational performance. Comparisons of the various input scores for each customer group （students, parents of students, and employers of students） submitted by the survey respondents are made against a benchmark established for businesses in the marketing literature and then scores are compared by administrative groups against one another. Finally, regression analysis is used to determine if the reported levels of organizational performance are impacted by the levels of reported market orientation. Altogether, 101 accounting department chairpersons, 130 business school deans, and 110 academic vice-presidents responded. The paper presents details of the research process, findings, statistical inferences, and discusses the implications of the research for schools of business and academic accounting departments.

Warren McFarlan as Co-Director of SEM＇s China Business Case Center for the next three years. During his tenure, Professor McFarlan will design a Harvard Business School case study based teaching platform for SEM adapted to the current business environment in China. Professor McFarlan will also select a company as the basis for case study and research on the problems the company encounters in its growth process. The influencing factors of the WTP for the risk reduction of chemical industry accidents in China

To explore the factors that influence respon- dents＇ willingness to pay （WTP） for the risk reduction of chemical industry accidents, a questionnaire survey combined with contingent valuation and psychometric paradigm methods were conducted in the city of Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, China. Both traditional socioeconomic variables and perceived characteristics of the hazards were considered in this study, and a Tobit model was used to find the factors influencing WTP under three risk reduction scenarios. The results showed that three demographic characteristics, age, gender, and income, significantly affected the WTP for chemical risk reduction. In addition, three extracted public risk perception factors, effect, knowledge, and trust, also strongly affected the WTP. The mean WTP value increased as the magnitude of the risk reduction increased. The number of factors influencing the WTP decreased as the reduction level improved, and only the effect factor had a significant influence on the WTP for a higher level （80%） of risk reduction. The cost for chemical safety management of Yancheng was calculated, and the optimized risk reduction level was determined. These findings can assist governments and policy makers to formulate suitable strategies for risk control, to reach target groups of people to develop effective communication, and to provide specific refer- ences for the best investment for the security of local residents.
