The Emergence of Modern Physics Research in China:The Yenching Department of Physics and the Rockefeller Foundation

Based on archival materials discovered in America,Britain,and China,this paper carefully examines the history of the short-lived and completely overlooked Department of Physics in the Premedical School of Peking Union Medical College(PUMC),and uncovers this department’s extensive interconnections with its counterpart at Yenching University.This project also looks into the Master of Science(MS)program in the Department of Physics at Yenching University,which,founded in 1927,was the first graduate program in physics in China.It was this MS program that transformed the Yenching Department from a largely premedical training center serving the PUMC into a prominent cradle of Chinese physics research.This Yenching Department,despite its small faculty and brief existence,nurtured many eminent Chinese physicists,such as Chao-Ying Meng孟昭英,Wen-Yu Chang张文裕,Ming-Chen Wang王明贞,Chia-Liu Luke Yuan袁家骝,Cheng-Shu Wang(Chang)王承书,Ho-Fu Lu卢鹤绂,Ting-Sui Ke葛庭燧,Kun Huang黄昆,and Chia-Lin Hsieh谢家麟.It would have been impossible to achieve these outstanding accomplishments without the effective leadership and pioneering work of C.H.Corbett,P.A.Anderson,Y.M.Hsieh,and W.Band—the first four Department Chairs—in combination with relatively abundant private funding,mostly from America,and extensive educational connections with Western institutions.This paper not only introduces in detail these four department heads and their contributions,but also discloses the unique role played by the Rockefeller Foundation via the China Medical Board and the PUMC in the development of the Yenching Department of Physics.

Research on bidding and procurement of school of pharmacy based on blockchain technology in colleges and universities

Under the principle of fairness and justice,it has always been a difficult problem for the procurement department and the school of pharmacy to realize integrity and efficiency in colleges and universities,and blockchain technology provides a new idea and feasible path to solve the above-mentioned problems.In the present study,we analyzed the current situation and characteristics of procurement in the school of pharmacy with blockchain technology and pointed out that blockchain technology faced challenges in equipment,system,talent,technology,and so on.By all means,such as the information security trust mechanism to improve the market trust and to solve the procurement problems,the trace-ability and openness mechanism to ensure the college’s procurement compliance,the intelligent contract mechanism to help the college’s bidding and procurement standardization construction,and the jointly blocks to maintain the information transparent process and effectively to prevent the agency anomie and integrity risk,we could explore a new path to the application of blockchain technology to solve the bidding and procurement of school of pharmacy in colleges and universities.

研究型大学校院联动有组织科研的实践与探索——以上海交通大学为例

基于上海交通大学机械与动力工程学院开展有组织科研以及和涉海单位协同开展“大海洋”行动计划专项的实践,从职能定位、管理方式、组织形式等维度探究了研究型大学校院联动有组织科研运行的机制。二级学院采用闭环全生命周期科研创新管理模式,探索形成了科研区域协同创新管理模式,并探索融入上海临港进行有组织的科研合作,为研究型大学校院联动开展有组织科研提供了最佳实践标杆案例。“大海洋”行动计划聚焦国家重大战略需求,有组织地从多学科交叉创新、创新基地建设、优势资源导入、组织机制建设等方面,以需求导向和平台化布局开展协同攻关,形成一种产学研用融通全链条生态体系科研发展模式。研究结论可为我国研究型大学校院联动开展有组织科研实践提供参考。

新时代如何在大学生中有效培育劳动精神

新时代大学生只有树立正确的劳动价值观,具备必要的劳动能力,养成良好的劳动习惯,才能满足个人成长和社会发展的需要。对于高校来说,培育大学生的劳动精神是劳动教育的核心。目前,在实践层面,劳动教育受到前所未有的重视;在认识层面,形成了劳动教育核心素养的共识;在研究层面,研究者开展了有关劳动教育的大量研究,相关成果不计其数。但高校在开展劳动教育的过程中还存在以下问题:五育并举的劳动教育体系还未真正建立,高校、家庭和社会还未形成有效培育劳动精神的合力,高校内部未形成有效培育劳动精神的协调机制,劳动教育课程缺乏劳动精神培育的聚焦点,大学生劳动精神的培育缺乏关键抓手。为在大学生中有效培育劳动精神,需要从理念更新、资源整合、教材优化、路径选择等方面加以改进。

当代大学生工匠精神认知现状与培育路径调查研究

工匠精神是我国从制造业大国走向制造业强国的支撑和关键,也是当代大学生不可或缺的精神品质。通过对河北省5所普通本科院校和8所高职专科院校1 028名学生工匠精神现状的调研分析发现,大学生对弘扬和培育工匠精神有较高认同感;大多数学校能够将工匠精神培育融入教育教学体系。但现阶段仍存在大学生群体对工匠精神的内涵认知不全面,高校工匠精神培养模式较为单一,普通本科院校学生对工匠精神的认知均值略低于高职专科院校学生,高职专科院校比普通本科院校更重视工匠精神的培育等问题。提升当代大学生工匠精神,应从“工匠精神认知提升”“工匠精神培育”“工匠精神与职业引导”“工匠精神从校园到企业的延伸”四个层面,发挥政府、社会、学校、企业、家庭和个人的协同作用,形成工匠精神的培育机制,完善工匠精神的培育体系。

“双一流”背景下行业特色型高校在校生校友精神教育与传承现状及改进研究--以中国矿业大学为例

行业特色型高校是我国高等教育体系的重要组成部分,其毕业生及校友主要服务于能源化工、农林水利、建筑交通和冶金机械等基础领域,在促进我国社会主义事业快速发展的同时,形成各高校各具特色的校友精神及文化。在当前“双一流”建设的关键时期,行业特色型高校也面临在校生校友精神教育和传承不足、毕业生不愿选择艰苦岗位就业等困境。该文以中国矿业大学为例,通过问卷调查与分析,结合当前思政教育内容,研究在校生校友精神教育与传承现状及存在的问题,并提出解决途径。研究结果表明,在校生参与校友活动意愿整体良好,对校友精神认同感较强,但在宣传推介、校史教育、校友活动和艰苦岗位就业意向等方面存在不足,由此提出校友资源开发、校史教育强化、校友活动创新和艰苦岗位就业激励四个方面的改进建议。

现代大学书院制改革汲取宋代书院办学经验刍议

宋代书院办学蕴含着“教以复性”的德育内核,其以培养德才兼备、经世致用之人才为重任,着眼于教育事业的长远价值,一定程度上规避了传统官学中求学者为博取功名而受教的功利化弊端。宋代书院办学在总体办学目标、课程教学内容、教学组织形式、办学支持条件等方面为现代大学书院制改革提供了颇多有益经验。当下我国现代大学书院制建设正处于深化改革和转型发展的关键时期,亦处于理论与行动整合的重要阶段。部分大学书院办学存在定位模糊、目标松散、互动欠缺、环境支持不足等现实问题,难以真正发挥书院的教学功能和德育价值。借鉴宋代书院办学经验,有助于把握古代书院教育德性教化之内核,明确现代大学书院须坚持以“立德树人”为根本任务的办学目标,灵活拓展大学书院的教学内容、层次和形式,全方位支持大学书院办学环境的营造,以保障大学书院办学的育人效果,推动大学书院制改革向纵深发展。

评教还是评人:普通高校体育课程学生评教有效性研究

采用问卷调查、数理统计等方法对普通高校体育课程学生评教有效性进行实证研究。研究发现,学生评教既是对“教”的评价,也是对“人”的评价,评教分数具有区分度和有效性。具体而言:(1)“一表多课”学生评教体系造成体育课程评教分数低于其他课程;(2)教学因素影响评教结果,教得好(教学效果好)的教师评教分数较好;(3)非教学因素“人”影响学生评教分数,青年教师、讲师、人缘好、颜值好、技能好的女性教师更易获学生好评,即体育课程教师存在差异;(4)体育课程教学项目评教也存差异,三大球、三小球优于武术、健美操、瑜伽等项目。研究认为,构建不同课程评教指标、实现评教专业化发展,加强学生评教宣传,助力评教公正公平,用好评教结果,实现以评促教,从而有效提升普通高校体育课程教学质量。

西南联大的教师形象怪、言语怪和行为怪。“怪”是他们的群体性特征,所以是正常的。“怪”也是美好的,因为透露了他们的心灵秘密:一是真性情;二是真才学;三是真风度。对西南联大教师“怪”的记录、描写、欣赏和传颂,至少有两点启示:一是好大学要有“怪人”“怪事”,理解和包容“怪人”“怪事”是大学精神的重要体现;二是“怪”是好老师个人魅力的重要体现,不少好老师正是依靠以“狂狷”“真气”为核心的个人魅力,达成启迪和身教的目标。
