With the implementation of China’s innovation-driven development strategy,the competition among sci-tech talents has become increasingly fierce.Stimulating the innovative vigor of sci-tech talents has become a hot to...With the implementation of China’s innovation-driven development strategy,the competition among sci-tech talents has become increasingly fierce.Stimulating the innovative vigor of sci-tech talents has become a hot topic in theoretical research and policy practice.Based on the data from 246 questionnaires collected from sci-tech talents in Hebei province,this study explored the influence mechanism of an inclusive organizational climate on innovation input from technological talents and verified the mediating effects of innovation self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation.The results indicate that an inclusive organizational climate has a significant positive impact on innovation input,innovation self-efficacy,and intrinsic motivation of sci-tech talents.Both innovation self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation play a partial mediating role between an inclusive climate and innovation input.This study verified the important role of an inclusive climate in an organization’s human resource management practices and encouraged managers to emphasize enhancing the innovation self-efficacy and intrinsic motivation of sci-tech talents,thereby continuously improving the level of innovation.展开更多
Innovation scholars highlight the economic benefits to firms,while research findings on the relationship between innovation output and economic returns remain mixed.In this study,we develop the profiting from innovati...Innovation scholars highlight the economic benefits to firms,while research findings on the relationship between innovation output and economic returns remain mixed.In this study,we develop the profiting from innovation(PFI)framework and address the crucial role of financial constraints in the relationship between innovation output and financial performance.We argue that the liability of newness differentiates firms’financial performance during the commercialization of innovation,leading to a U-shaped relationship between firms’innovation output and financial performance.We further document the moderating impact of individual financial constraints(IFC)and market-based financial constraints(MFC)on this curvilinear relationship.Empirical tests based on the 142,972 firm-year observations of the multi-source dataset of Chinese manufacturing firms from 1999–2009 support our hypotheses.The additional analysis shows that non-state-owned enterprises and small and medium enterprises benefit more from the synergistic effect of reductions of IFC and MFC than state-owned enterprises and large firms.Our study enriches the literature of the PFI framework by uncovering the mechanism between innovation output and economic returns where financial constraints play an essential role.To the best of our knowledge,we are among the first to investigate the processes and mechanisms between innovation output and financial performance,generating novel insights for business practitioners and policymakers.展开更多

It found these coastal regions can be divided into three levels. Guangdong Province belongs to the first level because its marine sci-tech innovation ability is relatively high. On this basis,it analyzed changes in marine sci-tech innovation ability of 11 coastal provinces with the aid of DEA's Malmquist productivity index model. Results indicate that the overall marine sci-tech innovation ability of 11 coastal provinces is rising,but there is significant difference between provinces and the influence of regional economic development level is not considerable.Technical progress is main driver for promoting marine sci-tech innovation ability of Guangdong Province and major factor influencing ranking of total factor productivity.展开更多

Objective To empirically analyze the relationship between cooperation innovation expenditure and economic output of China’s pharmaceutical industry,and provide a reference for improving its economic benefits and the ...Objective To empirically analyze the relationship between cooperation innovation expenditure and economic output of China’s pharmaceutical industry,and provide a reference for improving its economic benefits and the capability of cooperation innovation in the future.Methods The relevant data of China’s pharmaceutical industry from 2000 to 2016 was selected as a sample.Based on the co-integration theory,an error correction model was established to conduct Granger test of causality to study the relationship between cooperation innovation expenditure and economic output of China’s pharmaceutical industry.Results and Conclusion The cooperation innovation expenditure of China’s pharmaceutical industry has a significant positive impact on economic output.If cooperation innovation expenditure increases 1%,its economic output will go up by 1.7%.At the same time,the long-term promotion effect of cooperation innovation expenditure on economic output is more significant than the short-term effect.展开更多

Under this tendency, technological improvements should play a more important role in pushing the economy forwards, which brings higher requirements for technical development in Shanghai. Thus Shanghai must integrate and utilize the resources of new technology in a more comprehensive way. During the process of building up a well-off society as well as innovative regions in an all-around way, the demand for technological innovation is continuously increasing and its content, as to Shanghai, is undergoing further fulfillment.
