A novel Schiff base complex with π-conjugated system, [Ni(L1)2(py)2] 1 (L1 =(E)-N′-(2,4-dichlorobenzylidene)-2-oxidobenzohydraizide), was synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and single-crystal X-ray determination. Complex 1 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a = 12.8286(10), b = 16.3573(13), c = 19.0206(14) A, β = 108.2920(10)°, V = 3789.6(5)A^3, Z = 4, Mr = 833.17, Dc = 1.460 g/cm^3,/t = 0.843 mm^-1, F(000) = 1704, the final R = 0.0537 and wR = 0.0640 for 3836 observed reflections with I 〉 2σ(I). In the molecular structure of 1, the Ni^Ⅱ atoms are six-coordinated by two N and two O atoms from two Schiff base ligands (LI) and two N atoms from two pyridine solvent molecules to form a distorted octahedral geometry. The cytotoxic activities of complex 1 have been experimentally studied against a human HeLa cell in vitro. 展开更多

A novel 4-heterocyclic acylpyrazolone-based Schiff base compound 5-methyl- 2-phenyl-4-[(2-p-bromophenylamino)-furylmethylene]-3(2H)-one (C21H16N3O2Br) has been synthesized by the reaction of 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(α-furoyl)-pyrazolone-5 (HPMαFP) and p-bromoaniline. Elemental analysis, IR spectra and X-ray single-crystal diffraction were carded out to determine the composition and crystal structure of the compound. Crystal data: triclinic system, space group P1^-, a = 9.0936(3), b = 9.8067(4), c = 11.6863(4) A, α = 102.512(10), β = 90.9630(10), γ = 114.327(10)°, Mr= 422.28, Z= 2, F(000) = 428.0, V= 920.46(11)A^3, Dc = 1.524 g/cm^3,μ = 2.254mm^-1, R = 0.0476 and wR = 0.1318 for 9389 independent reflections (Rint = 0.0122) and 3281 observed reflections (I 〉 2σ(I)). The title complex Zn(HL)(NCS)2 (C14H18N4OS2Zn, Mr = 387.81, HL = N-(3-dimethyl-aminopropyl)-salicylaldimine) has been synthesized by the reaction of ZnSO4·7H2O with the Schiff base N-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-salicylaldimine derived from the condensation reaction of 3-dimethylamino- 1-propylamine with salicyladehyde. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group P21/n with a = 9.8360(8), b = 14.930(1), c = 12.277(1) A, β= 101.455(2)°, V= 1767.0(3) A 3, Z = 4, F(000) = 800, Dc= 1.458 g/cm^3 and ,μ(MoKα) = 1.631 mm^-1. The structure was refined to R = 0.0463 and wR = 0.1065 for 2681 observed reflections (1 〉 2σ(I)). Crystal analyses revealed that the Zn(Ⅱ) atom is coordinated by two nitrogen atoms of two NCS^-, and an oxygen atom as well as a nitrogen atom of amine from the neutral Schiff base ligand of N-(3-dimethyl-aminopropyl)-salicylaldimine to give a distorted tetrahedral geometry. 展开更多

A series of novel heteropolynuclear complexes of Ln (II1)-Cu (I1) and Cu(11) complex with noncyclic polyether Schiff base, salicylidene diethylene glycol diarnine (SALDA), have been synthesized for the first time. The isolated complexes are formulated as [LnCu2(SALDAI3(NO3)5](N03)2.4H20 (Ln = La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Er, Yb, Y) and [Cu(SALDA)(NO3)](NO3). H20. Synthesis methods are reported herein. The differences in their compositions, structures and coordination have been investigated by UV, IR, magnetic susceptibility, especially by1H and13c NMR spectra. It has been found that v (C=N) in the Ln(II1)-Cu(II) complexes are split up into two peaks with a far distance and it may be used as a probe for distinguishing them from others. In addition, it is suggested that the ethereal oxygen donors are not all coordinated. The good catalysis effect for the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) are reported for the first time. The results show that the catalytic activity of Nd-Cu-SALDA complex is better than that of the others and its syndiotactic sequence is ~ 72 % as well, the conversion íncreases to 88%. 展开更多
