The results indicate t...The self-cementing mechanism at early ages of circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC) coal ashes was studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), infrared (IR) spectroscopy and chemical method. The results indicate that the amorphous phase is predominant in CFBC coal ashes. The polymerization degree of [SiO4] and [AlO6] of CFBC desulphurization coal ashes is lower than that of those without desulphurization. The contents of the components with fast hydration rate of CFBC desulphurization coal ashes are significantly greater than those of the ashes without desulphurization. This work confirms that the amorphous minerals with high chemical activity are the main causes of the self-cementing property of CFBC desulphurization coal ashes at early ages.展开更多

An optimizing design for the parallel mechanisms can improve the motion performance relatively, but not guarantee the design results which satisfy the various practical requirements simultaneously. In this paper, a dynamical and optimal synthesis method is proposed for parallel mechanisms based on the dynamical reconfiguration technique. As a specific, application, the problem of optimizing the kinematics isotropy of a five-bar planar parallel mechanism is studied. The motion of a reconfigurable mechanism can be parted into two phases, the natural motion phase and the reconfiguration phase. The two motion phases can be studied by the same performance evaluation methodology. This points out from both theory and practices a novel method for improving the motion performance of the parallel mechanisms. Simulation by a symmetrical five-bar planar parallel manipulator shows some aspects of the investigations.展开更多

The reaction mechanism was investigated by...Fine zirconium diboride (ZrB2) powders with high purity were successfully prepared by combustion synthesis through magnesiothermic reduction process in Mg-B2O3-ZrO2 system. The reaction mechanism was investigated by differential thermal analysis and quenching experiment. The results show that the whole magnesio-thermic reduction process includes three stages: first, molten B2O3 and Mg formed above the temperature of 650 ℃, and glassy B2O3 and solid ZrO2 particles were coated on the surface of the molten Mg; thus, the hollow balls can be formed when the molten Mg was exuded under capillary function. Second, ZrO2 particles reacted with molten Mg to form Zr and MgO with dissolution-precip-itation mechanism, which released a large amount of heat to induce the diffusion reaction between B203 and Mg to form B and MgO. Last, Zr reacted with B to form ZrB2 grains. The preparation of ZrB2 by self-propagating syn-thesis in Mg-B2O3-ZrO2 system is a solid-liquid-liquid reaction.展开更多
In order to inhibit and remove the thin ice and extend the lifetime of the damaged bridge, the self-healing mechanism and hydrophobic performance of asphalt modified by siloxane and polyurethane (ASP) were studied by ...In order to inhibit and remove the thin ice and extend the lifetime of the damaged bridge, the self-healing mechanism and hydrophobic performance of asphalt modified by siloxane and polyurethane (ASP) were studied by dynamic shear rheology (DSR), fluorescence microscope (FM), atomic force microscope (AFM), the fracture-healing-re-fracture test and molecular simulations. The experimental results indicated that the selfhealing capability of ASP increased with increasing heating time and temperature. Furthermore, the addition of siloxane could improve the reaction energy barrier and complex modulus, and it is believed that the self-healing is a viscosity driven process, consisting of two parts namely crack closure and properties recovery. Contact angle of ASP increased with the increasing siloxane content and it deduced that the siloxane could improve the hydrophobic performance of ASP and the ASP molecule model could simulate well the self-healing mechanism and hydrophobic performance of ASP.展开更多

The PID is currently adapted to control the welding wire feed mechanism, although the fuzzy PID has advantage of fast response and adaptation, the precision of fuzzy PID is lower. Accordingly, the fuzzy self-adaptive PID controller was proposed through changing fuzzy input variables and output variables based on variable universe, simple furwtion is adopted as scaling factor, the fuzzy PID controller parameters are adjusted to improve the precision and adjustment range. Simulation results show that control effects of fuzzy self-adaptive PID adopted by the welding wire feed mechanism have good adaptive ability and robustness based on variable universe, the welding experiments indicate that the welding quality met the requirements actually.展开更多

Microstructural evolution in the quenched sample was observed using scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectrometry, and the combustion temperature was measured. The results showed that the combustion reaction started with local formation of Ti-Cu melt and could be described with the dissolution-precipitation mechanism, namely, Ti, Cu, and C particles dissolved into the Ti-Cu solution and TiC particles precipitated in the saturated Ti-Cu-C liquid solution. The local formation of Ti-Cu melt resulted from the solid diffusion between Ti and Cu particles.展开更多

If we model the particle as a spherical shell of radius R, and calculate the force of one piece of this shell on another and eventually integrate over the whole particle, there will be a net force on the particle due to the breakdown of Newton’s third law. This symmetry breaking mechanism relies on the finite size of the particle;thus, as Feynman has stated, conceptually this mechanism doesn’t make good sense for point particles. Nonetheless, in the point particle limit, two terms survive in the self-force series: R0 and R-1 terms. The R0 term can alternatively be attributed to the well-known radiation reaction but the origin of R-1 term is not clear. In this study, we will show that this new term can be accounted for by an inductive mechanism in which the changing magnetic field induces an inductive force on the particle. Using this inductive mechanism, we derive R-1 term in an extremely easy way.展开更多

Under-actuated finger designs play a key role to make the hand prosthesis lightweight. In this paper, a hand prosthesis with an under-actuated and self-adaptive finger mechanism is proposed. The proposed finger is capable to generate passively different flexion/extension angles for a proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint and a distal interphalangeal (DIP) joint for each flexion angle of metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint. In addition, DIP joint is capable to generate different angles for the same angle of PIP joint. Hand prosthesis is built on the proposed finger mechanism. The hand prosthesis enables user to grasp objects with various geometries by performing five grasping patterns. Thumb of the hand prosthesis includes opposition/apposition in addition to flexion/extension of MCP and interphalangeal (IP) joint. Kinematic analysis of the proposed finger has been carried out to verify the movable range of the joints. Simulations and experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed finger mechanism and the hand prosthesis.展开更多
Self-organization theory informs an analysis on the evolution of labor self-organizations (LSOs), but lacks technical analysis on the evolution of their organizational structures. Fortunately, complex network technolo...Self-organization theory informs an analysis on the evolution of labor self-organizations (LSOs), but lacks technical analysis on the evolution of their organizational structures. Fortunately, complex network technology offers a new approach to analyzing these structures. Built on an extension of the Barabási-Albert (BA) model, we can simulate the evolution of LSOs by analyzing indicators including the clustering coefficient, degree distribution (DD) and average path length (APL) of workers, thereby demonstrating the evolving patterns of LSOs. Accordingly, governmental mechanism designs based on such patterns may not only stimulate energy growth and functional realization of LSOs, but also reduce the social percussions of abrupt evolutions. A comparative analysis of the evolutionary trajectories of LSOs in China and the U.S. finds that the U.S. government’s mechanism designs for protecting capitalism not only prevented the effective gathering of workers, but also prolonged the history of industrial conflicts. Such mechanism designs also led to the early dispersion and decline of LSOs and hindered the evolution of the working class. In contrast, the Chinese government established a socialist system that allowed workers to become the underlying force of socialist productivity. This design reduced labor strife while accelerating the evolution of workers towards higher stages.展开更多

Coercivity mechanism in permanent magnets has been debated for many years.In this paper, various models of the coercivity mechanism are classified and re-examined by the comparison and contrast.Coherent rotation and c...Coercivity mechanism in permanent magnets has been debated for many years.In this paper, various models of the coercivity mechanism are classified and re-examined by the comparison and contrast.Coherent rotation and curling models can reveal the underlying reversal mechanism clearly based on isolated grains with elliptic shapes.By contrast, the numerical methods consider inter-grain interactions while simulating the evolution of the spins and hysteresis loops with complicated shapes.However, an exact simulation of magnetic reversal in permanent nanomagnets requires many meshes to mimic the thin domain wall well.Nucleation and pinning are the two main coercivity mechanisms in permanent magnets.The former signifies the beginning of the magnetic reversal, whilst the latter completes it.Recently, it is proposed that the large difference between the intrinsic magnetic properties of the nucleation centers and those of the main phase can result in a large pinning field(self-pinning), which has the attributes of both traditional nucleation and pinning.Such a pinning explains the experimental data of permanent magnets very well, including the enhancement of the coercivity by the grain boundary pinning.展开更多

Accordingly, governmental mechanism designs based on such patterns may not only stimulate energy growth and functional realization of LSOs, but also reduce the social percussions of abrupt evolutions. A comparative analysis of the evolutionary trajectories of LSOs in China and the U.S. finds that the U.S. government’s mechanism designs for protecting capitalism not only prevented the effective gathering of workers, but also prolonged the history of industrial conflicts. Such mechanism designs also led to the early dispersion and decline of LSOs and hindered the evolution of the working class. In contrast, the Chinese government established a socialist system that allowed workers to become the underlying force of socialist productivity. This design reduced labor strife while accelerating the evolution of workers towards higher stages.
文摘Rudyard Kipling is the first British writer to win the Nobel Prize for literature in 1907.Due to the influence of the First World War and the huge blow of his own beloved son John's death on the battlefield,Kipling's later writing pays more attention to the pain and trauma which the war brings,and the noble qualities of love,belief,and tenacity in human nature after the baptisms of pain and trauma.This paper selects two poems—"My Boy Jack"and"A Nativity"in Kipling's later poetry creation career.Freud's "trauma" and treatment theories are employed to study the two mothers' "self- trauma- healing mechanism"in face of pain and trauma,and to interpret the two mother images that experience the war-torn pain and trauma,and achieve their spiritual salvation at last.Through the transformation of the two mothers,Kipling wants to mourn his beloved son's death and expresses his determination and hope of faith and commitment in order to heal his inner pain and trauma,which unwittingly realizes Freud's trauma-healing theory.Key words:
文摘In the paper, the effects of linear expansion coefficient and basic index of melting slag on the detachability of self shielded flux cored electrode (SSFCE) are investigated. An equation is obtained on the principles of ceramics and mineralography which predict the detachability of basic SSFCE. In addition, stick slag mechanism of SSFCE is analyzed.

文摘Coercivity mechanism in permanent magnets has been debated for many years.In this paper, various models of the coercivity mechanism are classified and re-examined by the comparison and contrast.Coherent rotation and curling models can reveal the underlying reversal mechanism clearly based on isolated grains with elliptic shapes.By contrast, the numerical methods consider inter-grain interactions while simulating the evolution of the spins and hysteresis loops with complicated shapes.However, an exact simulation of magnetic reversal in permanent nanomagnets requires many meshes to mimic the thin domain wall well.Nucleation and pinning are the two main coercivity mechanisms in permanent magnets.The former signifies the beginning of the magnetic reversal, whilst the latter completes it.Recently, it is proposed that the large difference between the intrinsic magnetic properties of the nucleation centers and those of the main phase can result in a large pinning field(self-pinning), which has the attributes of both traditional nucleation and pinning.Such a pinning explains the experimental data of permanent magnets very well, including the enhancement of the coercivity by the grain boundary pinning.

文摘Vibratory synchronization transmission (VST) is a kind of special physicalphenomenon in inertia vibration mechanical systems. For an inertia vibration mechanical systemdriven by one pair of motors runs in step, even the power supply of one motor is cut off, the motorcan continue to keep rotating state under the vibration exciting of the machine body driven by onlyone other motor. And its rotating frequency will be the same as that of the other one. The transientprocess of this wonderful physical phenomenon has not been described quantitatively according tocurrent-existing mechanical models. On the basis of investigation of the engineering characteristicsof VST, a mechanical and electrical coupling mathematical model of a two-shaft inertia vibrationmachine is established. With this model, the transient process of VST is recurred quantitatively andsuccessfully, and a reasonable explanation is given.
