Functionally graded materials(FGMs)are a novel class of composite materials that have attracted significant attention in the field of engineering due to their unique mechanical properties.This study aims to explore th...Functionally graded materials(FGMs)are a novel class of composite materials that have attracted significant attention in the field of engineering due to their unique mechanical properties.This study aims to explore the dynamic behaviors of an FGM stepped beam with different boundary conditions based on an efficient solving method.Under the assumptions of the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory,the governing differential equations of an individual FGM beam are derived with Hamilton’s principle and decoupled via the separation-of-variable approach.Then,the free and forced vibrations of the FGM stepped beam are solved with the transfer matrix method(TMM).Two models,i.e.,a three-level FGM stepped beam and a five-level FGM stepped beam,are considered,and their natural frequencies and mode shapes are presented.To demonstrate the validity of the method in this paper,the simulation results by ABAQUS are also given.On this basis,the detailed parametric analyses on the frequencies and dynamic responses of the three-level FGM stepped beam are carried out.The results show the accuracy and efficiency of the TMM.展开更多

In order to overcome the essential difficulties in iteratively adjusting multiple parameters of conventional multi-parameter control, this paper introduces a unified step function controlled by a single parameter for constructing various multi-wing chaotic and hyperchaotic systems. In particular, to the best of the authors' knowledge, this is also the first time to find a non-equilibrium multi-wing hyperchaotic system by means of the unified step function control. According to the heteroclinic loop Shilnikov theorem, some properties for multi-wing attractors and its chaos mechanism are further discussed and analyzed. A circuit for multi-wing systems is designed and implemented for demonstration, which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed approach.展开更多

This artic...Spherical robot has good static and dynamic stability, which provides it with strong viability in hostile environment, but the lack of effective control methods has hindered its application and development. This article deals with the dynamic trajectory tracking problem of the spherical robot BHQ-2 designed for unmanned environment exploration. The dynamic model of the spherical robot is established with a simplified Boltzmann-Hamel equation, based on which a trajectory tracking controller is designed by using the back-stepping method. The convergence of the controller is proved with the Lyapunov stability theory. Numerical simulations show that with the controller the robot can globally and asymptotically track desired trajectories, both linear and circular.展开更多

Then, a new importance density function(IDF) was defined by the updated system equation. Particles drawn from the new IDF are more likely to be in the significant region of state space and the estimation accuracy can be improved. By using different suboptimal filter, different particle filters(PFs) can be developed in this framework. Extensions of this idea were also proposed by iteratively updating the system equation using particle filter itself, resulting in the iterated particle filter. The sparrow search algorithm(SSA)is a newly proposed meta-heuristic optimization algorithm based on the sparrowforaging principle.Similar to other meta-heuristic algorithms,SSA has problems such as slowconvergence spe...The sparrow search algorithm(SSA)is a newly proposed meta-heuristic optimization algorithm based on the sparrowforaging principle.Similar to other meta-heuristic algorithms,SSA has problems such as slowconvergence speed and difficulty in jumping out of the local optimum.In order to overcome these shortcomings,a chaotic sparrow search algorithm based on logarithmic spiral strategy and adaptive step strategy(CLSSA)is proposed in this paper.Firstly,in order to balance the exploration and exploitation ability of the algorithm,chaotic mapping is introduced to adjust the main parameters of SSA.Secondly,in order to improve the diversity of the population and enhance the search of the surrounding space,the logarithmic spiral strategy is introduced to improve the sparrow search mechanism.Finally,the adaptive step strategy is introduced to better control the process of algorithm exploitation and exploration.The best chaotic map is determined by different test functions,and the CLSSA with the best chaotic map is applied to solve 23 benchmark functions and 3 classical engineering problems.The simulation results show that the iterative map is the best chaotic map,and CLSSA is efficient and useful for engineering problems,which is better than all comparison algorithms.展开更多

The exciting manner of negative step response method is the same as wrist force sensor's load in working. This experimental method needn't special experiment equipments. Experiment's dynamic repeatability is good. So wrist force sensor's dynamic performance is suitable to be calibrated by negative step response method. A new correlation wavelet transfer method is studied. By wavelet transfer method, the signal is decomposed into two dimensional spaces of time-frequency. So the problem of negative step exciting energy concentrating in the low frequency band is solved. Correlation wavelet transfer doesn't require that wavelet primary function be orthogonal and needn't wavelet reconstruction. So analyzing efficiency is high. An experimental bench is designed and manufactured to load the wrist force sensor orthogonal excitation force/moment. A piezoelectric force sensor is used to setup soft trigger and calculate the value of negative step excitation. A wrist force sensor is calibrated. The pulse response function is calculated after negative step excitation and step response have been transformed to positive step excitation and step response. The pulse response function is transferred to frequency response function. The wrist force sensor's dynamic characteristics are identified by the frequency response function.展开更多
