BACKGROUND Vestibular dysfunction(VH)is a common concomitant symptom of late peri-pheral vestibular lesions, which can be trauma, poisoning, infection, heredity, and neurodegeneration, but about 50%of the causes are unknown. The study uses the information-motivation-behavioral skills(IMB)model for health education, effectively improve the quality of life, increase their self-confidence,reduce anxiety and depression, and effectively improve the psychological state of patients.AIM To explore the effect of health education based on the IMB model on the degree of vertigo, disability, anxiety and depression in patients with unilateral vestibular hypofunction.METHODS The clinical data of 80 patients with unilateral vestibular hypofunction from January 2019 to December 2021 were selected as the retrospective research objects, and they were divided into the control group and the observation group with 40 cases in each group according to different nursing methods.Among them, the control group was given routine nursing health education and guidance, and the observation group was given health education and guidance based on the IMB model. The changes in self-efficacy,anxiety and depression, and quality of life of patients with unilateral VH were compared between the two groups.RESULTS There was no significant difference in General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES)scale scores between the two groups of patients before nursing(P>0.05),which was comparable;after nursing, the GSES scale scores of the two groups were higher than those before nursing. The nursing group was higher than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the scores of Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HADS)and anxiety and depression subscales between the two groups before nursing(P>0.05).After nursing, the HADS score, anxiety, and depression subscale scores of the two groups of patients were lower than those before nursing, and the nursing group was lower than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After nursing, the Dizziness Handicap Inventory(DHI)scale and DHI-P,DHI-E and DHI-F scores in the two groups were decreased, and the scores in the nursing group were lower than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Health education based on the IMB model can effectively improve patients'quality of life, increase self-efficacy of patients with unilateral vestibular hypofunction, enhance patients'confidence, enable patients to resume normal work and life as soon as possible, reduce patients'anxiety and depression, and effectively improve patients'psychological status. 展开更多

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal tumors have a high incidence rate. The application value of the cooperative nursing care system of medical care has received widespread attention in recent years. However, there are few studies on the value of the joint application of collaborative nursing care and self-efficacy education.AIM To explore the effect of cooperative nursing care management/self-efficacy education on postoperative infection and self-efficacy in gastrointestinal tumor surgery patients.METHODS A total of 102 patients with gastrointestinal tumors treated in our hospital from October 2018 to February 2020 were selected and divided into a conventional group(n=51)and a combined group(n=51)according to the nursing plan. The routine group adopted routine nursing, and the joint group adopted the medical care cooperative responsibility system nursing management combined with selfefficacy education. The self-efficacy scores, coping style scores,self-experience burden scores, and postoperative complication rates of the two groups before and after intervention were counted.RESULTS After intervention, the daily life behavior management, cognitive symptom management, and disease management scores of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention, and those of the combined group were higher than those of the conventional group(all P=0.000).After the intervention, the positive response scores of the two groups were higher than those before the intervention, the negative response scores were lower than those before the intervention, and the combined group was better than the conventional group(all P=0.000).After the intervention, the two groups’emotional, economic, and physical factor scores were lower than those before the intervention, and the combined group was lower than the conventional group(all P=0.000).The incidence of infection in the combined group(1.96%)was lower than that in the conventional group(15.69%)(P=0.036).CONCLUSION Cooperative nursing care management and self-efficacy education improved the physical and mental states of gastrointestinal cancer surgery patients, change the response to disease, and reduce the risk of postoperative infection. 展开更多

Objectives:To study the risk of falling and self-efficacy in elderly patients with hip fracture.Methodology:Forty elderly patients with hip fractures that were caused by falling were admitted into our hospital from April 2018 to April 2019,and were enrolled into this study. All patients were assessed by using the Morse Fall Scale(MFS)and Falls Efficacy Scale(FES).The basic situation of the patients with hip fractures caused by falling and the scores of MFS and FES before and after falling were evaluated. Results:Results showed that the number of patients with femoral neck fractures accounted for 70%out of all patients, and the number of patients with intertrochanteric fractures accounted for the remaining 30%of the patients. The number of patients with academic qualification below primary school is 16,the number of patients with middle high school education is 11 and the number of patients with high school education and above is 13.Slipping is the cause of hip fracture that accounted for the most in patients, followed by outing activities, whereas least patients with hip fractures was caused by falling in nursing home. There were 29 patients’who used crutches or walking aids and this number was more than that of those who required the devices. After the MFS and FES analyses, the results(scores of MFS and FES)showed that the risk before the fall was lower. In contrast, the risk of fracture and post-surgery after the fall was greatly increased. Conclusion:The elderly patients with hip fractures were found to have increased risk of falling and thus, these patients require good care. 展开更多
