Surface self-magnetization of siderite is achieved by generating ferromagnetic substance on the surface of siderite by adjusting slurry temperature,pH value,stirring rate and reaction time.No addition of any iron-containing reagent is required.The temperature of 60 ℃,NaOH concentration of 0.10 mol/L;stirring rate of 900 r/min and the reaction time of 10 min are the optimal conditions.The results show that the siderite recovery in magnetic separation increased from 26.9% to 88.8% after surface magnetization.Magnetization kinetic equation is expressed as 1 [1(e0.269)]1/3 = Kt.Activation energy for the magnetization reaction is 4.30 kJ/mol.VSM,SEM and XPS were used to characterize the siderite,and results show that the saturated magnetization(rs) of siderite increased from 0.652 to 2.569Am2 /kg,the magnetic hysteresis was detected with a coercive force of 0.976 A/m after magnetization;Fe2P3/2 electron binding energy changed which reflects the valence alteration in iron on the surface and the formation of ferromagnetic Fe3O4. 展开更多

Despite being a promising photoanode material for water splitting,WO_(3) has low conductivity,high onset potential,and sluggish water oxidation kinetics.In this study,we designed Ti-doped WO_(3) nanoplate arrays on fluoride-doped tin oxide by a seed-free hydrothermal method,and the effects of doping on the photoelectrochemical performance were investigated.The optimal Ti-doped WO_(3) electrode achieved a photocurrent density of 0.53 mA/cm^(2) at 0.6 V(vs Ag/AgCl),110%higher than that of pure WO_(3) nanoplate arrays.Moreover,a significant cathodic shift in the onset potential was observed after doping.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy valence band and ultraviolet–visible spectra revealed that the band positions of Ti-doped WO_(3) photoanodes moved upward,yielding a lower onset potential.Furthermore,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements revealed that the conductivities of the WO_(3) photoanodes improved after doping,because of the rapid separation of photo-generated charge carriers.Thus,we report a new design route toward efficient and low-cost photoanodes for photoelectrochemical applications. 展开更多

The visible light photocatalytic activity of two-dimensional (2D) BiOl microplates was intensively enhanced through simply dipping in Na2CO3 solutions at room temperature. The X-ray powder diffrac- tion (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) investigations suggest that little amount of (BiO)2CO3 phase was formed on the surface of 2D BiOI via the in situ chemical conversion. The concen- tration of Na2CO3 solutions affected the structure, morphology, light absorption and surface element component of 2D BiOl. The surface loaded (BiO)2CO3 mainly trapped the photoinduced electrons of BiOI, improved the separation efficiency of photocharges and finally raised the photocatalytic activity of BiOl under visible light (λ 〉 420 nm). Furthermore, the product of the as-prepared (BiO)2CO3/BiOI displayed excellent stability in the repeated experiment. This study provides a facile way to improve the photocatalytic activity of BiOX (X = CI, Br, I) by means of surface treatment with Na2CO3 solutions. 展开更多

In order to simplify the process which aims at separating the coherent sources located at different sides of holography surface, a direct sound field separation method which only depends on the data of holography surface is proposed. Assume that the reconstruction surface is holography surface, according to the equivalent sources located at the spherical surface, there exists a relationship between the measured sound pressure and the calculated value based on equivalent source method. Then, the coherent sources are separated. Nmnerical simulation an- alyzes the separation results when the interference sources are pulsating ball source and simply supported steel sheet with forced oscillation, respectively. The separation method is validated by experiment with two loudspeakers. The results show that the proposed method has high accuracy to the two kinds of interference sources and high tolerate deviation. 展开更多

Molecularly imprinted polymers are generated by curing a cross-linked polymer in the presence of a template. During the curing process, noncovalent bonds form between the polymer and the template. The interaction site... Molecularly imprinted polymers are generated by curing a cross-linked polymer in the presence of a template. During the curing process, noncovalent bonds form between the polymer and the template. The interaction sites for the noncovalent bonds become "frozen" in the cross-linking polymer and maintain their shape even after the template is removed. The resulting cavities reproduce the size and shape of the template and can selectively reincorporate the template when a mixture containing it flows over the imprinted surface. In the last few decades the field of molecular imprinting has evolved from being able to selectively capture only small molecules to dealing with all kinds of samples. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) have been generated for analytes as diverse as metal ions, drug molecules, environmental pollutants, proteins and viruses to entire cells. We review here the relatively new field of surface imprinting, which creates imprints of large, biologically relevant templates. The traditional bulk imprinting, where a template is simply added to a prepolymer before curing, cannot be applied if the analyte is too large to diffuse from the cured polymer. Special methods must be used to generate binding sites only on a surface. Those techniques have solved crucial problems in separation science as well as chemical and biochemical sensing. The implementation of imprinted polymers into microfluidic chips has greatly improved the applicability of microfluidics. We present the latest advances and different approaches of surface imprinting and their applications for microfluidic devices. 展开更多

The effects of thickness-to-chord(t=c)ratio,anhedral angle(d),and cropping ratio from trailing-edge(Cr%)on the aerodynamics of non-slender reverse delta wings in comparison to non-slender delta wings with sweep angle of 45°were characterized in a low-speed wind tunnel using force and pressure measurements.The measurements were conducted for total of 8 different delta and reverse delta wings.Two different t/c ratios of 5.9%and 1.1%,and two different anhedral angles ofd=15°and 30°for non-cropped and cropped at Cr=30%conditions were tested.The results indicate that the reverse delta wings generate higher lift-to-drag ratio and have better longitudinal static stability characteristics compared to the delta wings.The wing thickness has favorable effect on longitudinal static stability for the reverse delta wing whereas longitudinal static stability is not influenced by wing thickness for the delta wing.For reverse delta wings,the anhe-draled wing without cropping has adverse effect on aerodynamic performance and decreases the lift-to-drag ratio.Cropping in anhedraled wing causes significant improvement in lift-to-drag ratio,shift in aerodynamic and pressure centers towards the trailing-edge,and enhancement in longitudi-nal static stability. 展开更多

Thermal and salt dual stimuli-responsive filter-paper-based membranes were prepared by UV-induced grafting of NIPAM-based polymers on paper surface. The grafting ratio could be controlled by monomer concentration during grafting polymerization. The results from pressure drop measurement of the mobile phase flowed cross the membrane demonstrate that an appropriate grafting ratio would be 8%-10%. Protein adsorption on the membrane through hydrophobic interaction could be promoted by increasing temperature and lyotropic salt concentration. The effect of grafted polymer structure on protein binding performance was studied. Filter paper grafted with NIPAM-based branched copolymer consisting of hydrophobic monomer moieties shows ten times higher protein binding capacity than that of the original filter paper. The separation of plasma proteins using the dual stimuli-responsive membrane was examined to demonstrate feasible application for hydrophobic interaction chromatographic separation of proteins. 展开更多
