Using the phase-shift technique, points cloud with high spatial resolution and limited accuracy can be generated. Stereo-pair images obtained from two cameras can be used to compute 3D world coordinates of a point using traditional active triangulation approach, yet the camera calibration is crucial. Neural network is a well-known approach to approximate a nonlinear system without an explicit physical model, in this work it is used to train the stereo vision application system to calculating 3D world coordinates such that the camera calibration can be bypassed. The training set for neural network consists of a variety of stereo-pair images and the corresponding 3D world coordinates. The picture elements correspondence problem is solved by using projected color-coded fringes with different orientations. Color imbalance is completely eliminated by the new color-coded method. Once the high accuracy correspondence of 2D images with 3D points is acquired, high precision 3D points cloud can be recognized by the well trained net. The obvious advantage of this approach is that high spatial resolution can be obtained by the phase-shifting technique and high accuracy 3D object point coordinates are achieved by the well trained net which is independent of the camera model works for any type of camera. Some experiments verified the performance of the method.展开更多

It has also been revisited with the emergence of proprietary speech codecs, such as BV16, BV32, and SILK, that have structures different from CELP coding. In this article, we review NFC and describe a novel coding technique that optimally shapes coding noise in embedded pulse-code modulation (PCM) and embedded adaptive differential PCM (ADPCM). We describe how this new technique was incorporated into the recent ITU-T G.711.1, G.711 App. III, and G.722 Annex B (G.722B) speech-coding standards.展开更多

Performing wavelet transform on the orientation of original planar curve gives the corners called corner-1 points and end of arcs that belong to the original curve. Each arc is represented by a broken line and the corners called corner-2 points of the broken line are extracted. A polygonal approximation of a contour is an ordered list of corner-1 points, ends of arcs and corner-2 points which are extracted by using the above algorithm. All of the points are called polygonal vertices which will be compressed by our adaptive arithmetic encoding. Experimental results show that our method reduces code bits by about 26% compared with the context-based arithmetic encoding (CAE) of MPEG-4, and the subjective quality of the reconstructed shape is better than that of CAE at the same Dn.展开更多

In order to prove the feasibility of the theory and as well as convenient to use on the electro-mechanical engineering, we will try to simplify the three-dimension structure problem into an one-dimension structure problem. Furthermore we will design one kind of bimorph type piezoelectric cantilever beam, so that it can be used as with the actuator and sensor simultaneously, but also conducive to the theory and simulation analysis. As for the simulation analysis, we will use the ANSYS code.展开更多
