The anti-oxidation properties under different oxygen partial pressures (OPP) and thermal shock resistance of the SZS coating were investigated. The results show that the SZS coated sample under low OPP, corresponding to the ambient air, during isothermal oxidation was 0.54% in mass gain after 111 h oxidation at 1500 ° C and less than 0.03% in mass loss after 50 h oxidation in high OPP, corresponding to the air flow rate of 36 L/h. Additionally, the residual compressive strengths (RCS) of the SZS coated samples after oxidation for 50 h in high OPP and 80 h in low OPP remain about 70% and 72.5% of those of original C/C samples, respectively. Moreover, the mass loss of SZS coated samples subjected to the thermal cycle from 1500 ° C in high OPP to boiling water for 30 times was merely 1.61%.展开更多

The results indicate that Vickers hardness, elastic modulus and fracture toughness of the composites were increased by the addition of SiC platelet until the content up to 20 vol pct. A slight decrease in flexural Strength was measured at room temperature with increasing SiC platelet content. The high temperature flexural strength tests at 1150, 1250, and 1350℃ were conducted. It was found that the flexural strength at elevated temperature was degraded with the rising temperature, and the downward trend of flexural strength for the composite containing 10 vol. pct SiC platelet was less. The results indicate that SiC platelet had a positive influence on the high temperature strength. Effects of SiC platelet reinforcement were presented展开更多

The oxidizing mechanism of Fe-Si_ 3N_ 4 bonded SiC ceramic matrix composite has been investigated especially through TG-DSC (thermo gravimetric analysis-differential scanning calorimeter) experiment. During oxidation procedure the main reaction is the oxidation of SiC and Si_ 3N_ 4, SiO_ 2 which form protecting film to prevent further oxidizing. And residual iron in the samples become Fe_ 2O_ 3 and Fe_ 3O_ 4,_ the oxidation kinetics at 1100~1300℃ of Fe-Si_ 3N_ 4 bonded SiC has been studied especially. The weight gain per unit area at initial stage changes according to beeline rule, in the middle according to conic, and in the last oxidation period follows parabola rule.展开更多

Effect of TiO2 addition on phase composition and microstructure of Al4SiC4/Al4O4C composites was investigated by TGA, chemical analysis, XRD and SEM. The results show that : ( 1 ) Ti in the specimens loses a little in the process of firing, all residual TiO2 transforms into TiC when the firing temperature is below 1 300℃, and the formed TiC exists stably at 1 300 - 1 700 ℃; (2) the TiO2 addition has little effect on phase composition of composites ; however, when more than 3% of TiO2 is added, the formation temperature of Al4SiC4 and Al4O4C increases from 1 500 ℃ to 1 600℃ ; ( 3 ) with the concentration of Ti^4+ increasing, Ti^4+ may react easily with Al4SiC4 and Al4O4C forrning the finite substitution solid solution resulting in lattice defect, which leads to the decomposition of Al4SiC4 at 1 700℃, the formation of more Al4O4C short fiber, and the formation of flake Al2O3 layer on suorface of the specimen.展开更多
