Interpretation,Construction and Exhibition-Seeking the Positive Significance of Ancient Architecture Model Making in the Teaching of History of Chinese Architecture

On the basis of a special project for teaching reform, in order to change the boring and dull situation of History of Chinese Architecture in students, ancient architecture model was introduced in the teaching process of the pure history course. Through the interpretation, construction, and exhibition stages,the ability of students in grasping the knowledge of architecture history can be strengthened. Then, from the historical background, physical composition, artistic conception of space, structural system, detailed structure, and architectural evolution, the positive significance of ancient architecture model to the teaching of the History of Chinese Architecture was discussed, in the hope of providing certain theoretical basis for the teaching of the History of Chinese Architecture.

Chinese Solution for the Construction of An Ecological Civilization and Its World Significance

For the construction of an ecological civilization, the socialist system with Chinese characteristics provides a reliable institutional guarantee, its theory of an ecological civilization offers ideological guidance, and the dominant role of governments furnishes a powerful driver. A top-level design for the construction of an ecological civilization, a holistic approach to socioeconomic development and the construction of an ecological civilization, the establishment and constant improvement of institutional mechanisms, and the deep combination of poverty alleviation and ecological governance provide both Chinese wisdom and Chinese solutions for the problem of the ecological environment. Environmental protection in China certainly has a long way to go, and the Chinese solution for the construction of an ecological civilization still needs to be constantly improved in practice.

Xi Jinping's Discussion of Civilization History and the Discourse Construction of China's Road

The significance of discourse construction in the civilization discussion of Xi Jinping is explored in this paper: The 500-year history of world socialism and the 5000-year history of Chinese civilization, Xi Jinping' s studies of Socialism with Chinese characteristics in the long history of civilization development, highlighting Socialism with Chinese characteristics as a product in the development of human civilization, the great contribution to world civilization progress and the creative development of Marxism which has been the most distinctive feature in Chinese discourse structure since the 18 th National Congress of the CPC. As the conscious construction of epistemology, it has given unprecedented historical and cultural implications to China' s road and opened the new theory space for the discourse construction of Socialism with Chinese characteristics or the academic expression of China' s road.

On Chinese Civilization Being the Only Continued Civilization in the Viewpoint of the Modern National History Construction

Chinese civilization is the only ancient civilization thriving to this day seems to be a common view in the historical academia and Chinese society as well. Culture is a way that human beings actively adapt to the surroundings and keep consistence with environmental change. All cultures created by human beings are changing, so is the Chinese culture. The physical and cultural evolution presented by the archaeological discoveries and related historical researches show that Chinese culture is multi-sourced and multicultural. This is the secret for the Chinese culture to retain its vitality. The reasons that Chinese civilization is the only civilization thriving to this day among all of ancient civilizations in the world include the ancestral worship, the identity to common ancestors, traditions of writing pedigrees and history books, the longhistory Chinese character system and the creative thinking and cultural methods of interpreting new thoughts by using traditional Chinese thinking and cultural structures. Especially in modern times, impacted by the nationalism trend, the national state narration built for meeting the requirement of the national state"historical memory"left us the strong impression of Chinese civilization being the only continued civilization and fostered the affective identification with the common history.

Research on Improving Artistry of Exhibitions in History Museums in China

Chinese civilization,with its long and continuous history and rich cultural heritage,plays a central role in China’s dialogue with other civilizations.Therefore,it is necessary to collect and refine the defining symbols and best elements of Chinese culture and showcase them to the world;develop discourse and narrative systems with Chinese characteristics,better tell China’s stories,and make China’s voice heard.This effort can help Chinese civilization shine globally,interact with other civilizations,and promote its communication and influence worldwide.In China,history museums,as physical carriers of Chinese civilization,are an important component in developing Chinese discourse and narrative systems and an important channel to better tell China’s stories and make China’s voice heard.Improving the artistry of museum exhibitions caters to the public’s growing demand for a more enriching cultural experience and substantially promotes Chinese culture on a global scale.With the communication of Chinese civilization as the main focal point,this study investigated the current issues related to the artistry of history museum exhibitions in China and defined the artistry of history museum exhibitions and their connotations.Based on an in-depth analysis of the artistry of historical museum exhibitions within China,this paper enumerated the areas where improvements could be made to enhance exhibition artistry,intending to promote the communication of Chinese civilization.

Heightening Historical Consciousness and Strengthening Confidence in Chinese Culture Through the Study of the History of Chinese Civilization

Today we are holding the 39th group study session of the Central Committee Political Bureau.Our focus today will be on the Chinese Civilization Origins Project.The purpose is to gain a deeper understanding of the development of China's civilization over the past five millennia,to promote a further study of the history of Chinese civilization,and to heighten historical consciousness and cultural confidence throughout the Party and society.

Digital heritage construction: Testing the heritage value of construction documentation and building processes through Virtual Reality

This research paper examines the heritage value of construction documentation and processes via Virtual Reality(VR),with a focus on the Sydney Opera House(SOH).It underscores the importance of comprehending and documenting transient construction techniques for heritage valuation.Utilising VR,the study offers an immersive portrayal of the SOH’s construction,emphasising its innovative methods,craftsmanship,and environmental challenges.The paper draws from the Digital Heritage Construction project,showcased at the Heritage Exposition of the ICOMOS General Assembly 2023.This project featured two VR simulations,developed through analysing 200 original shop drawings,historical photographs,and site minutes and reports.The first simulation illustrates the formwork systems used for the SOH’s iconic sails,while the second elucidates the assembly methods for the precast vaulted roofs,including the operation of the telescopic erection arch and the installation of concrete segments.The paper examines the novelty of this approach through a survey conducted at the Heritage Exposition.Analysis of the survey’s result reveals VR’s effectiveness in deepening the appreciation of architectural heritage’s intangible qualities,providing new insights into the historical construction processes of the building and their cultural significance.

Water is the source of all life, and is closely related to human civilization. It had a special significance in China, so the ancient Chinese created the dragon god as a symbol of China, the Chinese and Chinese civilization. It can be said that the unique hydrological conditions on the territory of China created three great historical miracles： China, the Chinese people, and Chinese civilization. The Chinese have dedicated more effort than people in any other countries to water control and water use in order to make effective use of water resources and prevent flooding. It is their unparalleled achievements that have laid the foundation for these three miracles. Today, the Chinese people are facing unprecedented challenges in water control and water use. Exploring the historical Chinese relationship with water offers a good opportunity to understand the important role that water plays in long-term social development.

A Review of the Inaugural Conference of the Asia Civilization Research Center

From May 19th to 23rd,2023,The inaugural conference of the Asia Civilization Research Center were held in Shanghai.This conference's theme is"Construction and Development of the East Asian Academic System:Diversity and Exchange in East Asian Civilizations".It organized by the Department of World History,and Guangqi International Scholars Center,Shanghai Normal University.
